The bakery here is excellent! I wish the sourdough bread was just a tad bit more crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, however, this bakery is really fantastic. The cakes and pastries are delicious as well. Their flour tortillas are also delightful and when they just make them, are so yummy to eat. The service is also very good. The employees are helpful and you can get any of your loaves sliced without any issues. The ambiance? Well, it's a grocery store! But the employees at this grocery store are welcoming and friendly. The only employees that I find a bit standoffish are the shoppers. They seem to be "on a mission" and ignore you completely and you don't want to get in their way, so be careful as you navigate around them. read more

Service needs to be improved, managers just stand around talking, they should step in when there are long lines, make it quicker for customers to get out, customers do not come first at this store. Curbside items are always out of stock, i've picked up my curbside and was told they didn't have certain items, parked and went into the store and found the item, not out of stock. The meat department staff are rude.. Deli dept staff are great! I hope Brownsville opens up another grocery store soon.. read more

This HEB is enormous! I love that while it is soo big and carries everything you could possibly need, it is always soo clean and orderly. I went on thanksgiving And they had associates keeping lines in check and making sure aisles were still clear to walk. It is aesthetically pleasing as well and their hours are perfection! read more

This is a great store. My favorite part is the "ready made" meals you can find all around the fruit section. You have it all -- sushi, hot meals, fruit trays, sandwiches, salads, oven ready meals for one. Occasionally you can find good deals on them too, like markdowns near expiration date. If you're like me, and don't always have time to cook food at home, this HEB is a great place to go while Brownsville continues to develop! read more

Construction finished....nice, wide aisles and more check out stands. Finally have located where things were moved. They placed employees in the aisles during construction to answer questions. I love the produce at HEB. Parking is still a problem. Often you drive down several lanes before you find a parking space. Love the grilled chicken they serve inside....with grilled onions and jalapenos. Sushi bar and fresh tortillas. Be prepared to walk.....it is HUGE. read more

HEB now becoming a Plus store is under construction and parking is limited for now since construction workers take the front parking spaces. It's just not a great time to shop for now unless you go at10:30 pm or 11:00 before closing. read more

This is by far the worst HEB Store I have ever been to. Had to wait in line that was backed up to where people could not pass because they had 9 express lanes open and only four regular lanes open. I complained to the manager and her excuse was that they had call ins and they didn't have enough baggers did not really make any sense to me as to why they had so many express lanes open won't be shopping at this HEB ever again read more

This store is one of the better ones in Brownsville. Prices are not the cheapest but he quality is ok and the service is good. The lines at the check out though, OMG.- It's always a long wait. Waiting in line takes longer than the actual shopping. Fix it!! read more

Been shopping here for over 14.years and am finding that they have stopped carrying my 'stuff '. Sure they are carrying their brand, but not what I'm used to getting. It's a real chore to have to go to Walmart just to get pretzels because they have quit carrying the Frito Lays brand. If they keep this up I'll have to change my grocery store, and that is something that I don't want to do. read more

A good store, very open to helping customers. It is my go-to-place. Nice associates, very helpful, good management. Everyone is extremely nice. The cook, the people from the grocery area (extremely nice), the people from the meat department (they take the time to show me the meats that I need), the floor associates, the managers, the persons at the door, they always say hi. This is in regards to the Central Boulevard location. I reached out and no response . Same company so ...Since there is no option to message you all, (other than calling corporate/calling store ) , which if I don't get any acknowledgment of this being read I will, I'm posting here . Today I was at your location and witnessed what appears to be the manager (younger lady in goldish shirt/ no nametag/ curly hair - 5pm today), making a spectacle of the HEB brand by talking down to employees, making it public and a downright spectacle . This including sighing , rolling eyes , answering to the poor employees in yellow shirts sarcastically and responding "tell him to get his ass over here " when a poor employee was answering one of her questions . This was WAY audible , NOT discreet and uncomfortable for me as a customer as a former employee . A disgrace - never saw something like this while hired at HEB for almost 10!lyears , -i was taught the value of being professional at all times . I can't even express how strictly that was instilled to the employees . Being employed at "Brown 3 " myself, that work ethic carried in to any job i had after , (and career I have now ), because the Managers we had then - even when I worked there approximately 7 years ago, had integrity and pride for the company . Now , this situation didn't affect ME directly , but it is sad that a company that I was a part of and TAUGHT me about pride and work ethic allows this to happen out in the open . read more
