    Turkey & Chicken Salad

Phat Girl Foodie-nista Says...Whoever came up with this grocery store, loves and cares about people...single and together! I'm going to try my BEST not to make this a long review. I have recently moved from Tennessee to Houston and I decided to take my time and walk through the store. Everyone that works at the store was so nice and helpful. I didn't feel like cooking especially since coming off of a long drive after the holidays. I grabbed a lemon pepper chicken and some other snacks to hold us through the weekend. I went home and my daughter and I ate EVERYTHING!!!! IT WAS SOOOO GOOD! We grabbed a few small bags of candied pecans...ohhhh goodness! Someone almost had to come and pick me up out of the floor! Everything is fresh, the store is clean and the salads tasted like someone's granny has been back there cooking. H.E.B is a store you can trust...well, I trust them. It's like good homecoming.

I gave this store 5 stars because for many years, they have consistently provided excellent service with a smile. On a derogatory note, the sushi counter-bar is a bit far, from par. The pieces of smoked Salmon were small enough to fit in a straw. H‑E‑B/Market Street's sushi offers significantly larger smoked Salmon pieces.

3.5 stars. This should be a nicer HEB than the more popular and organic/healthier Market Street one because it's newer and in Sterling Ridge but I was only averagely impressed overall. First off I must say Christine in the Boarshead deli was very professional and knew what a .5 slice meant (very very thin but in one piece). She said that was a common request from their customers. She also sliced my other two items perfectly and put the appropriate papers between. Five stars for her!!! The vegetable section was large but was out of several veggies I wanted. The blueberries were a great buy at $4.44 for 18 oz except that the cashier rung them up much higher along with at least 2 other items I caught. The cashier was very friendly and had no attitude. She just said they're not notified all the time on every sale item and adjusted the prices. I had my Yelp picture of the blueberries as proof but didn't need to show her. I still only rate this HEB meat section 3.5 stars. Not as impressed with the packaging and selection compared to HEB Market Street. The rest of the store is ok but the flow of food products is not good. The paper towels were not in the actual aisle that the signed said. Overall another decent experience but I see room for improvement. Yelp Review #354

My family loves this HEB. Great service and kid friendly. Good specials and my dogs like the food too (go figure).

I also want to recognize Patrick, who was working in the back stocking/unloading items. He took the time to go check for a product for me, came back personally, and let me know it was unavailable. I appreciated the effort and professionalism. Unfortunately, the experience at checkout completely changed the tone of my visit. The cashier, Marilyn, never greeted me, never acknowledged me when I spoke to her, and never thanked me at the end of the transaction. From beginning to end, there was not a single word exchanged from her side. When she handed me my receipt, her demeanor felt dismissive and honestly unpleasant. Idk what that attitude was about but imagine how quickly this could've gone downhill had I handled her just as rudely as she handled me. What stood out most is that there was no negative interaction beforehand that would have explained the behavior. Even if a greeting was somehow missed, there is no reason a customer should leave without at least hearing "thank you." One employee's poor customer service can easily overshadow the positive work of others, and that's exactly what happened here. Whole Foods needs to do better with consistency in customer experience, especially at the register where customers leave with their final impression of the store.

The bathrooms are above-average clean for a gas station and are very modern. It looks like a great place to buy beer--they have a selection equivalent to a grocery store and a dedicated walk-in cooler. The food is another story. I've seen the food well-stocked, but I went in at noon on a Saturday for something hot and was disappointed. They didn't have the chopped beef sandwich or sriracha burger that they advertised as a special. I think they were understaffed and didn't manage to stock. I ended up with a sausage on a stick and a choice off the roller grill. They did have a good variety there, including a breakfast sausage that was tempting, but in the end I went with a pepperoni pizza grilled sausage, with some "chili" and cheese from the dispensers. Gourmet food it was not, but actually not half bad. The sanitary conditions for the food were good. The buns were individually wrapped, and the drink cup lids were in dispensers that cut down on fingering the stack. They had two Freestyle machines, and both appeared to be working properly, which you can't take for granted. The gas is a bit above average in price, but it's convenient and I'm happy to patronize it.
