Typical Korean market that predominately sells a mix of Hispanic products, Korean, and a mix of Asian food products as well as fresh fruit, vegetables, and seafood. It does smell where the seafood is located at, I wish they had a better way to conceal the smell. It was pretty bad, especially when I was pregnant which is even worse. On the weekends it can be pretty packed, its a big building but they cram so much products and shelves that the aisle are very narrow. read more

People flock to your refrigerated cases of kimchi and other prepared foods. Thank you for your endless aisles of soy sauce, noodles, and tea. Okay so the next time I am out here and not rushing I will take some pictures. This is like the South sides DeKalb Farmer's Market with and International flair! It opened a few years back and when I lived on this side of town I would frequent it often. Here's the deal. You must inspect your items very closely! I mean every thing. Make sure no packages or jars have been opened. Even tug at your ice cream cartons and any bottles of juice that you pick up. And for the love of God go over your produce with a fine toothed comb. My experience has been that people come in and open items to get a good look at it or sniff it and then they will put it back. I HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN OFTEN! As far as the produce goes. NEVER buy too much of this stuff at one time because it can go bad in a matter of days! I would say get only what you will be using today and tomorrow. The prices are very low here so I will assume that this stuff is already on it's last days when we purchase it. Kind of like getting the Manager's Special Meat. Either cook it the day you buy it or freeze the hell out of it quickly. OKAY! I love this place because I like to try Exotic Fruit. They have all kinds here. Durian, Starfruit, Passion fruit, Jackfruit, Kumquats, I think I saw Dragon Fruit and I remember seeing what looked like an African Cucumber. I did not get the Durian or the African Cucumber but all of the other fruit that I have purchased was good if eaten right away. They also have the regular items we grew up on here in the US. For me, Collard Greens, Squash (Spaghetti, summer, etc), Zucchini, Tomato (Green and Red), Turnips, Sweet Peas, Onion, Lettuce, Potatoes, etc. It's a Farmer's Market/International Restaurant Food Court/Bakery/Grocery/Fish Market/Clothing/ Cooking Accessories all combined in one. Visualize an in doors Flea Market with Food and Grocery I give it a 2 Stars because, well I have experienced better. I'll piggyback on this one. This Super H location is more about convenience than anything else. It doesn't compare to the Duluth location, not by a long shot, nor does it compare to the John's Creek location. It has less Korean product, and more 'American' (this is what my wife and friends call us white folk) product (obviously client base is different here). The fish market is for the adventurous but I haven't got sick yet! The veges/fruit section is o.k. Overall, just not as impressive but not bad for a quicker trip to pick up a few staples. I make the trip to Duluth for the 'big shop'. But here is the great news: a brand new sparkling Super H Mart is being built right off 285 at Peachtree Industrial (in the same lot as Brandsmart). You know what I really like about this place? You have to work for your vegetables!!! The experience starts with a bumper car rally as you jockey your cart for fruits and vegetables. I love to cook many different Asian dishes and my ingredients are readily available. The layout does not reek of Asian ingenuity but more Bangkok market - minus the live turtles and snakes and much, much cleaner. I love the irony that they put all the Asian snack food right by the vegetables. Everyone should check out the shelves full of Asian specific drinks, grab a few to try!!!! Lychee never tasted so good. I go every week just wandering the aisles, wondering what the hell I can make and what do most of the packages say and love it!!!! I love to pick up all kinds of pickled vegetables and high fat sausages. Do you like Korean bar-b-que? There is a great selection of freshly, thinly sliced meats and marinated meats. Not to mention, they always have little tasting stations. I am just beginning to explore it all and learn the different locations of all ingredients but it is a great experience. Not to be missed at the end is all the prepared food options, seaweed salad, marinated vegetables, spicy dried fish of every kind, fishcake, pickled lotus root and KIMCHI of all styles. Checkout is fast and efficient and then you are spit out into a food court with 6 different options and a very good little bakery. Every time I go to Hmart, I'm stunned by the stinky fish smell that hits you as soon as you walk into thru the sliding glass doors. It causes me to immediately lose any appeitite I have.  Another thing that's interesting is how when you talk to the employees about things that you need or things that need to be corrected in the store, the majority of them don't speak English and those that do don't care about your comments. I've heard a few times " it's not my department!" Today,  I was looking for sesame seeds, the Aisle that is marked for sesame seeds is Aisle number 4. However, there are no sesame seeds on Aisle number 4.  The sesame seeds are on Aisle number 6.  I mentioned this to the guy stocking the groceries on the Next aisle over, but as typical at Hmart, he didn't care.  He said to talk to customer service, then I as I was walking to the checkout, I saw the "Hardware Manager" and he said it wasn't his Department. Obviously, he didn't care either. Finally, I talk to the young cashier as I went out, she said "I'm just a cashier it's the guys who stock that have to make the change". I told her that the comments I received today told me a lot about how poorly trained Hmart employees are and if she wanted to learn about customer service go work at Publix, because you'll never learn it here. It took me 3 years of living in Atlanta to find a suitable replacement for my beloved Han Ah Reum that I loved enough to faithfully make the trek from Jersey to NY at least once every two weeks to stock up on my ethnic goodies. Sure, there's an H-Mart in Duluth, but now that I live ITP, I'm spoiled and don't like traveling too far out of my little in-town bubble. I googled my ass off an I got luck and was able to visit this location during it's grand opening... YES! It was all I wanted, needed, and more. H-Mart has made it so that you don't feel out of place shopping here if you aren't Asian. There's something here for everyone, but those of us who appreciate pan-Asian cuisine get a LOT extra! LOVE the Food court, Fresh seafood cut to order, The wide variety of meats and the cuts available, The wide variety of cheap and fresh produce, and all my hard to find goodies. HATE that I can only get my sugar cane cut to a manageable size on on the weekends, and that this place is so far away and not really accessible via MARTA, but hey, I guess I can't have it all. Ok, for those fans of the Super H in Duluth, beware that this one is a lot different. They still have many Korean products however, not nearly the selection at the Duluth location. I was pretty dissapointed that the kimchi and panchans are limited, as well as the rice cakes. I don't think they make any kimchi there on site like they do in Duluth. You can't buy the bagged kimchi that's freshly made, just the commercial kind in the glass jar. The produce didn't have the Korean style zucchinis (the fat ones) and the mushroom section was limited. You'll also find less Korean speaking employees as well. The prices were pretty much the same and it was also the same size, however there were many more 'western' products which you don't find in Duluth. read more

I love this HMart. I find everything I need there. The Korean Restaraunt is amazing! The employees are very helpful including my favorite person that works the courtesy county. Little Korean lady with the glasses. I've Locked my keys in the car and left them in the produce bin one time and she never hesitated to help me. She's awesome. H Mart is a supermarket in Riverdale, Georgia. Been here several times to shop for my Asian groceries like Asian pear, Japanese yams, Kim chi (sold in buckets mind you) and fresh Chinese vegetables like bok choy. The food court here is minimal, one Chinese, a sushi place and Korean stations but every time I come here the Korean station is always opened with not an extensive menu but still very tasty and hit you in the right spot when you are hungry and shop for food. I see there is a small Spanish section. Very cool. read more

I live in East Point so this Super H Mart is much closer for me than the one in Duluth. But I'll have to agree with Krystal about the selection. For the most part, I do just fine, but overall I think the produce offered, and more important the quality, is a little better at the Duluth store. The Duluth store seems to be more organized and well kept, also. But I love me some Super H Mart. I save a lot of money on produce, meat and seafood, and every week there's an in-store special that's out of this world. I've bought strawberries for $.99, a big container of red raspberries for $1.29, blackberries for $.79 and today i got this GINORMOUS container of Earthbound spring mix for just $.99. Usually they do these drastic markdowns when the produce has about 1-2 days left of life, so you have to use it quickly. But even without the discount, the deals are awesome and it saves me a trip to DFM, which i love, but gas is $900 a gallon so I'll go to Riverdale instead. read more

H-mart is pretty amazing to this Caucasian. Sometimes, after eating at Haru Ichiban, I'll just go in and walk around. They have tons of cheap produce, sometimes it not always the freshest, but you can find some really good deals. I love that they have prepared foods like kimchi, fresh soy milk and tofu, marinated veggies, baked goods and bubble tea! They seem to be constantly putting stuff on the shelves because there are always boxes in the aisles which would be a major pain if you had a cart. But, their selection of teas, snacks, and sauces makes it all worthwhile. One of these days, I want to go hungry so I can try some of the stuff from the food court. It'll be a smorgasbord of edible delights from Asia: sushi, dumplings, and tofu soup to start. Oh, if when I do this you happen to be there, would you make sure I don't food coma myself? This place is f**king awesome. A great spot if you're craving some home-cooked Korean/Japanese/Chinese food. Yes, it's a tad on the white-people side but still good and the best I can find outside of San Francisco/LA. I hate to say it, but this is like the red-headed step child of the local Super H family, kinda like the H in the Hood. It's much smaller, dirtier and messier than the others I've been to, and the selection isn't as good. There's no specialty meat section (actually there was hardly any meat at all that day) and the seafood section doesn't seem as "fresh" as the other locations. (We all know that if it ain't alive, it comes in frozen, right?!) The produce section looked like a war zone...must've been still recouping from the holiday weekend. Plus, the entire store always smells of stale mop water. What I DO like about this location is it's LOCATION. I make the drive down GA-85 once a month, and I take full advantage: I can make ALL my stops in one trip...Kroger, Ingle's, Walmart, and here without having to hop on and off the highway. Saturday's are a boon too, since there's a Farmer's Market on the other side. Don't forget to check out the little shops inside as well. They've got really cute leggings, hidden amongst the cheap rubber sandals; last trip I found organic, natural shea butter on sale for $2/tub. That's $5 cheaper than what I pay at a wholesale place. Just for that I'll just have to Pepi LePew it with a clothes pin and make a dash. read more

I had heard about this chain from a friend of mine in Dallas and I didn't think I would ever have the opportunity to visit one. My grandmother being Japanese, and with us just happening to be in the Atlanta area, it was a no-brainer that we'd spend part of our visit buying stuff to replenish our pantries. Our little section of Florida has many 'Oriental Markets', but none are even remotely like the ones in Atlanta. For clarity's sake though, it is more of a multi-ethnic market. After a trip to the Buford Highway Farmer's Market, we decided to pay a visit to the Super H in south Atlanta. One of the biggest differences between Super H and just about any other oriental market, is the lunch counters. Just like what you'd expect at a mall food court, but better. A word of caution: if you eat here, bring your appetite. The portions are HUGE. And there is quite a variety: Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Jamaican, Korean... The store is quite extensive in selection, though probably not as much as the Buford Farmer's Market. Still, you'll find just about all of the most sought after food stuffs. One item that we found rather surprising that the store did not seem to have: sushi rollers. These are the flexible bamboo mats that you use to roll sushi with. Couldn't find them anywhere in this store. Great store and well worth visiting when in the area. read more

I checked this location out after having been to the Doraville Super H Mart. When I entered the front door a blast of pungent fish smell met me. That is odd since seafood is in the back of the store on the other end and could not be farther from the front door. I could not get beyond the smell and I've been to many fresh fish markets. First, I don't like Riverdale in general. But when a girl has to have Krispy Kreme, a girl has to have Krispy Kreme. And when a girl gets Krispy Kreme, she has to burn off the calories after eating a Krispy Kreme donut. I do so by doing more food shopping ;) You can find anything and everything here. Asian veggies are very inexpensive. Need Thai Basil for Pho...you can get some for dirt cheap. Need some bak choy for Kim Chee...this is your place! But if you need some bell peppers and bananas, you might be better off not going out of your way for JUST that. Similar pricing to the local Kroger for those items. If you're looking for really, really great prices and don't mind traveling...Your Dekalb Farmer's Market is the place to go for produce. The asian processed food offerings are substantial...and plentiful. Don't pass by the snack aisle without grabbing some "yellow cheetos" (yellow curl snacks) or snow pea crisps. Yummy! You can even find Kinder Chocolate...the Kinder Hippos are delicious. The prepared foods aren't too shabby either. Korean sushi, kimchee, all the sides...all great stuff. They usually have great deals on marinated meats. You can get some bulgogi or spicy pork ready to cook for a steal when it's on sale. I haven't bought anything from the meat or seafood counter, though. For an Asian store, the variety of different Asian foods they offer are great. You can grab nearly anything to prepare for any Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Filipino dish that you could ever imagine. They also have a huge hispanic and caribbean section. They offer a lot of samples, too. And on your way out grab a macaron from the bakery...just don't grab anything else. The breads, cakes, and danishes were horrendously stale. Like, unpalatably stale. But the macarons. Mmmm those were heaven. And so was the bubble tea. I haven't been to the other HMart locations, but I plan to do so in the very near future. Riverdale is just the closest. I'm hoping for an even better experience at the other locations. read more

I visit this H-mart semi-regularly as it is closest to me, but prefer the other locations more. They have more variation in ethnic foods vs. the usual H-mart locations which focus more on East Asian and primarily Korean foods. This one still has a great deal of Korean fare, but it's a solid balanced mix of nationalities. Some items are a little pricier than your regular grocery store, and you can't find everything you'd find in a typical grocery store. The food court is really hit or miss as I've gone even on Lunch to find a majority of it closed up nowadays. There used to be several shops including Hikari sushi and a decent Chinese place but none of that is ever open and and I'm pretty sure Hikari packed up. 3 stars primarily for the food court sadness. There is a small bakery, Tous les Jour, which isn't half bad. You can get walnut cream bread, and honey breads, curry bread, etc. They also have cute cakes and drinks. Otherwise, this H-mart has most to all the pros that all the other H-marts have--- decent fish area, Asian kitchen accessories (rice cookers, stone bowls, burners, etc), your harder to find Asian produce, and all sort of sauces, marinades, condiments, and what not in between. read more

Stopped by on my way out of town, disappointed. They have about 1/10th the banchan the other ones have and none are made in house. Awesome produce of course, but the rest of the store was not quite up to h mart standards. Also, food court only had one restaurant. No doubt this place will be more developed as more Koreans move to the area, but it's just not there yet. read more

I went back to this supermarket during the day and it's definitely better than going toward the end of the day. The veggies are still not as fresh as other places, but it's edible and quality was much better. There were people cleaning up the veggies and restocking at the same time. The prices are more expensive than California's Asian market, so that was a bit disappointing. Thought down South would be cheaper, but it's not! Booo...missing Cali's low prices at the Asian markets. I got a free bottle of water on my way out! That was pretty awesome! It's so hot currently, so the water just hit the spot. :D read more

First time at the Super H Mart "down south". I was quite impressed by the diversity of the clientele. I would imagine that the offerings would be different than the other H-Marts due to the difference in demographic of the area. Nope. Same stuff, mostly Korean. Nearly all of the food vendors in their "food court" were closed down. Not a good look in my opinion. Turn that junk into the additional shopping space. The store is small to begin with so it could possibly benefit with the additional space. Not the cleanest or most organized store, but it is still a great alternative to the big name stores. read more

What happened? I moved away from da A about 7 years ago. Before i left the Super H Mart was my primary grocery spot. I went there today and wanted to cry. All but one of the restaurants was closed and the French Bakery where my nephew worked when he was in high school, was but a shadow of it's former self. The restaurant on the end used to cook whole, crispy, ducks. The first reataurant you to seeve each dish with a large platter of aticky rice. Both we're desserted. They also had a sample area with various food dishes. It was just open to any and everybody. I didn't trust it since it was unattended. All in all I'm so sad to say that this place has gone down hill. read more

So I'd read the shady reviews, and as soon as I entered the store I knew they were right. This location is so much closer to my house, so I wanted to give it a shot. The produce section was very limited. It was hard to find many of the Asian items I wanted like lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves (they were not there). Also many prices were quite expensive. I did have luck in the Asian and Caribbean packaged sections, but I decided to avoid the meat and seafood. However, I will admit it did not smell badly. I will likely not return though. read more

H Mart - Grocery Near Me - Riverdale, Georgia

I grew up going to the one in Duluth so I am super excited to be closer to the one in Riverdale. I just left from there and I absolutely love it. I can always find any food item/spice that I need that a regular grocery store doesn't carry. Samples are always great as well. I have bought many things I normally wouldn't have purchased based on the samples. The bonus is the restaurant section.Definitely some of the best Korean and Chinese food in the city. My kids love it as well. The only con would be that sometimes it's hard to communicate with staff as English is not the primary language for many, but it's ok as I know and understand that I have to try and communicate in other ways or use Google translate to find something. I find that it's typically quite busy all of the time so midday works the best for me. Best grocery store overall in this area read more

This store is just amazing for its awesome selection of vegetables, funky fruit, meats, gazillion types of rice, etc. The best part is the Korean restaurant! We had a wonderful sizzling hot Kimchi stew and a beef soup. Both came with a beautiful side plate of kimchi, radish, sprouts and bok choy. Super reasonably priced at $6.99 and $7.99. I am a long time fan of this particular Super H Mart. I'm like a kid in a candy store, throwing everything I see into the kart and bursting everything open once I hit the car. I like the food court, lots, and now there's a place to buy bubble tea which I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for. The prices are fair and the selection is pretty alright. Much better than the new location on P'tree Ind. I love the exotic fruits and veggies, too. Granted I ONLY buy things from here that I can't pick up at krogers, that helps save a lot of cash. I love the produce section here - so much less expensive on almost all items compared to the Kroger one block south. Of course, I always hit the snack aisles to explore the wide variety of treats. I absolutely love this grocery store. I mean, once you get past the smell, it's great. I've been able to find international ingredients that I can't find anywhere else in the city, and it's amazing to go in there and really see other culture's foods. Not even a real H-Mart. Horrible selection and the food court is essentially closed. I was there before the posted covid hours of closing and the one functioning restaurant in the food court closed 20 minutes early. No salmon sashimi in the whole store. Just take the time to drive to any of the other real H-Marts in the Atlanta real area. This is more of an H-Mart Junior. read more
