I have used Collins on several projects over a number of years, and all have been very professionally done. I am a very meticulous commercial Handyman (in many areas) and only go by word of mouth for job recommendations. Most contractors don't get to come back for projects out of my range. Collins always gets 1st choice. I have read the (very old) posted review complaints and as a contractor myself, there are initial recommendations made that don't always pan out, because they are based on similar experience, but we don't have X-Ray vision, so sometimes the initial ideas don't work out. It is imperative that as a customer, that we work together with our contractors suppling them with everything needed to make informed approaches to problems. We needed plumbing work done for our project converting an attached single garage into room with additional full bath. With limited review about the company, we were apprehensive about using the company initially. Collins was willing to listen to our concerns and made appropriate adjustments to move the project foreword. Project was completed on schedule, and passed city inspection. He fixed a toilet and replaced the hot water tank for me. This guy was not the best. Hit and miss for workmanship. Cost me extra because he thought initially it was clogged hot water pipes causing my problem. This was a guess as he didn't even open the hot water tank to check it. Finally when he was replacing my pipes, he popped the tank open and noticed it was all gunked up with calcification. Ended up replacing the hot water tank.. which would have solved my problem in the beginning... He said he warranties his workmanship for 1 year, this was a lie. One of the toilets he replaced a pump, that toilet still had pressure problems. Six months later, when I asked him to come back to adjust the pump, he kept asking for a video of the issue. Very perplexing as the issue is the pump was not installed with the proper height adjustment (IE. not enough water to flush fully). I used youtube to learn how to remove and adjust the pump height, and fixed. He ignored my emails, did not answer my calls after initially answering it the first time. DO NOT RECOMMEND this plumber. However, if you do use him, beware that he may not come back to warranty his work. He took my money for the big job and ran it seems... Oh, and he charged me extra to drive back to the store to buy a part that he broke while fixing the toilet. read more

Collins was the most incompetent gas fitter I ever met. He blew a hole in our outside wall to install a new gas stove connection as he thought that was a better idea than tapping off the existing main line right below our stove. When we told him that it needed to be done properly he charged us another $200 to finish it the way it should have been done leaving us to fix the gaping hole in the outside wall. Avoid this guy like the plague. read more

I contacted the company and received an immediate response to all my questions. Collins the owner spoke to me and confirmed he is a red seal plumber. He presented his cards to me in person as well. Collins provided a quote over the phone including my likely worst scenario. I can say it ended up being the best case scenario. I highly recommend. read more
