I am basing my review on the food and not the service or staff. We came in after a baseball game, ordered at the counter. The menus are taped to the counter and are written in small print. There are no menus to actually hold so don't forget your reading glasses. You can't get a glass of water, all the drinks are bottled which I don't care for especially when you have 5 kids with you. The food was good but not spectacular. My pad Thai with chicken was a nice serving and delicious. The crab rangoon was average. The hot and spicy soup was good but no crunchy things to go on top. Everyone ate their food and seemed to enjoy what they had to eat. The woman that waited on us was the absolute rudest person I have ever encountered in a restaurant. No smile, no help, she actually said we should go somewhere else if we wanted salt and pepper. Shocking! The prices were reasonable. I will not be back but if you are hungry for Chinese food and can stand the rudeness go. read more

I am going to rate my experience on service and food. First, the service. The woman that helped us was unbelievably rude. She said they were a "to go" restaurant and clearly did not like helping customers. She grumbled over us asking for utensils, salt and pepper and when my son ask if she had eel sauce she actually suggested we go to a different restaurant. The food. The food was fine. Not exceptional and definitely not bad. Not memorable except for the terrible service. We started with 3 cups of hot and sour soup, an order of egg rolls and crab Rangoon. We all got a decent serving of soup that was served in styrofoam bowls. We are easy, that was fine with us. However, no "crunchies" to go on top. The egg rolls were good and came out warm. The crab Rangoon was fine. Not great but not bad. They were not hot like the rest of the food. Everyone ordered something different. Shrimp fried rice, 2 sides of fried rice, pad Thai and teriyaki chicken. The shrimp fried rice was my favorite. Large servings. Overall, I will not be dining here again. If you are looking for a local takeout counter maybe give it a try. If you are looking for a hole in the wall with friendly people I would skip this restaurant. read more

Service was great and the employee at register was incredibly nice and accommodating throughout our whole experience. Food was really good. The General Tso 's Chicken had good white meat chicken, setting it apart from other restaurants with similar cuisine in Oxford and other areas. Personally this taste is just not for me. It's not your typical Asian food. I ordered Indian curry and the spices taste good but then there was sweet potato in it that threw everything off. The service is good, the place is nice, I'm just not a fan of the flavors. They definitely have a interesting Asian fusion style so maybe you can find your thing. read more

Great little hole in the wall in oxford. Definitely understated. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were a little smaller than your average takeout joint. Regardless, we were met with a smile and had our food within 10 minutes tops for 4 orders. Egg rolls were to die for. I ordered sweet and sour chicken but when I got home, the chicken was soggy due to them pouring the sweet and sour sauce over the chicken instead of it on the side. Regardless, great little place. I have been here a few times cuz this is the only place that sells Vietnamese food around Olemiss. So far, I enjoy all the rice plates that I had. Downside is it's not very Vietnamese authentic, but more like general Asia food. For some plates, when they say it's sour, it really is, so watch out on that. The upside is it's pretty cheap compare to most Asia restaurant. Foods are tasty enough, so quality doesn't seem to go down like its cheap price. GROSS! As a Vietnamese person, I definitely know my way around Vietnamese/Asian cuisine, and I can definitely say, I do NOT like this place! If I recall correctly from my conversation with the owner, she is actually Chinese, but lived in Vietnam (or vice versa). Sweet lady with nice service, which is probably one of the few reasons why I did not give this place 1 star. The pho here is horrible. It is a watered down version of the true authentic pho broth, and you can definitely taste that it has been made beforehand, frozen, thawed, and re-heated. I expect pho broth to be rich and soothing in flavors, accompanied by a fresh and bountiful array of mint, cilantro, and basil... Wishful thinking. I also tried their rice lunch specials here, which I would much rather order if I found myself here for some reason. Not really authentic Vietnamese (more-so Chinese), but it is Asian nonetheless. I hear that there are actually a number of people that enjoy eating here due to their low prices and sweet service. However, whenever my friends and I want true authentic Vietnamese home-cooking, we trek our way to Memphis and get the real deal! read more

Final nail in the coffin was ordering Pho with chicken (and saying chicken no less than 5 times, husband heard me order) and picking up SHRIMP after driving 25 minutes to pick it up--and then catching attitude from the owner for their mistake. They've always been rude and they've always been crazy weird about charging for things that should be free (it's extra for soy sauce, chopsticks, and a dang fortune cookie, no lie). This place soothes my soul. It's highly organized and colorful--count one paper lantern per ceiling tile--and the menus on the wall are handwritten and perfectly aligned... I don't know why this makes me feel better. The owners are your server and cook--always friendly and your food comes super fast and to your table. Portions are small, but a special runs everyday and you're only paying 5.50 per plate with rice, egg roll and entree. Their beverages are all bottled 24oz for some reason. That and the portions kind of gets to me, but the food is great--sesame chicken is quite spicy and tender--never like a dried out hull I've gotten elsewhere. And, get this: it was a kid's birthday, and the owner brought out chinese donuts for him. I bought my own for 1.50. And, I've never been charged for a fortune cookie. This is one of the most underrated restaurants in Oxford. Locally owned and operated, I am always so happy to see the friendly Ms. Van! I am one to hardly stray from my usual order at restaurants, but I ordered the garlic chicken (on their INCREDIBLY affordable daily lunch menu) and it is my new favorite dish! I was very happy with my experience at H2O. It's one of those places I had driven by a million times and never stopped to question what was inside. The food is really flavorful and complex. I had Pad Thai, and my boyfriend had the Pho. I wish the Pad Thai had been more spicy (but I forgot to tell them to bump up the spice). Still there was a very nice pepper flavor on my tongue when I left. The Pho is the thing to get. If you have never had it, it is oddly refreshing. During my visit, a family walked in who were obviously regulars. They were thanking the woman behind the counter for giving them some type of soup when a family member was sick. They said that the spices helped heal their cold. This place is a true treasure, and one of those hidden places only locals go. Highly recommend you try it! read more

The best pho in town (the only pho in town)! There are lots of other Asian dishes to choose from (not just Vietnamese), but the owners are Vietnamese so I tend to stick with that. Portions are small- for the pho, you aren't going to get much besides the basics: noodles, broth, 5 shrimp, onions, and a few sprigs of some greenness and/or bean sprouts. I would add more stars if they had bubble tea, free tap water, and didn't charge for fortune cookies. read more

If you want non-traditional flavors for traditional Asian dishes, you can't miss H2O. This will not have "pure" Vietnamese or Chinese or Thai etc. food. The owners (a couple from Vietnam and China) know how to cook traditional food, but choose to experiment and add new flavors instead. The result is sort of authentic fusion. It's not Americanized, but it's not something you've had 100 times before, either. The couple is extremely hardworking and pleasant. There are about 100 things on the menu, and while I definitely haven't had them all, I haven't been disappointed yet. The pho and ginger beef tips have definitely stood out the most. I probably eat out here more than anywhere else in Oxford due to price, variety, and always being impressed with what I get. Amazing, extremely cheap food right off the square.
