Ok I've heard so many good things about this place and I finally went here's my review if anyone cares. Customer service. Was perfect. Restaurant is very clean well decorated. Panang Curry tofu&shrimp. Sauce was good. Tofu was boiled in the sauce. Crab Rangoon: cooked perfectly. Nice size. No crab just less then 1/4 tsp of cream cheese. Pineapple fried rice with chicken Tasty BUT the rice was MUSH. Big turn off Pad Thai. Lacked flavor. Fried dumplings. A little over browned but edible. Definitely not made in house. First and last time eating here, I've eaten Thai before in other towns everyone said this was the best place in town. I don't know if it matters much but we were the only table seated. They did have several Togo orders. My wife ordered pa Thai chicken and was served beef. I ordered beef basil rice. We were both served beef with noodles I asked for level 4 and she asked for 1. Both were spicy but I got up and went to counter to get the correct order. It came out extra dry with no flavor except basil with no spice. They explained the kitchen messed up but the same person we placed our order with served our dinner. Must be new staff running this place with all the positive reviews. read more

I have had Zaap multiple times. Every time the food tastes exceptional. The service is always quick for freshly made meals and I love getting the spring roll before my main dish. The cooking show that's always on adds a nice feel. It's like I can watch how the food I am eating is traditionally made. Highly recommend! read more

This was once our favorite takeout place but they recently raised their prices AGAIN in six months so we won't be going there again. Honestly for takeout street food this should be affordable but just isn't anymore. I feel like they raised their prices to reflect what students pay for foodtrucks on campus with their meal cards rather than what locals would pay for a family of 4. The food is good, no question, but it isn't fair to loyal customers to raise prices like this for takeout food. Especially when their workers are still making MS minimum wage! read more

Looking through the previous reviews I see a lot of complaints about curries and Drunken noodles; however, my experience with the Thai Fried Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad See Eu and Tom Kha Soup has been nothing short of excellent! This is a bit of a catch up review as I haven't been back to Oxford since 2019; however, when I was living there, I was going to Zaap at least twice a month as I found the fresh food and strong flavors so refreshing and tasty! Portions were very large and tons of vegetables in each dish. I'm so glad that there is a place--even if it's in a gas station--that does Thai exceptionally well. read more

Came up to Oxford to see family. The son-in-law found this restaurant so we figure "why not". The Restuarant exterior is part of a gas station / convenience store. If you blink, you will miss it....we had do a u-turn. Here are things ordered: 1. F1-Sesame fried rice w chicken - 5 Stars A great balance of sesame oil with a hint of tamarind and palm sugar. Will definitely get it again 2. N1- Pad Thai w Chicken - 5 Stars. ask for Thai hot- we all LOVE it! And that is saying something for us. And "yes", I am a food snob to Pad Thai and I will add this to #2 on my place to go for Pad Thai. My number 1 place is Far Away Places, in Meridian, MS. 3. S1 - Tom Yum w fresh shrimp - 3.75 Stars. A light broth with some heat and fresh veggies 4. E8 - Nua Nam Tok w beef- 3 1/2 Stars - expecting minced meat but it was presented as sliced steak. Served hot with fresh veggies on top of cold lettuce and hot rice. It was good and flavorful. 5. E7 - Larb Kai w chicken - 3/2 Stars - expecting a Larb style for the chicken (minced meat) but is was more diced. This dish is similar to the Nua Nam Tok for the other items. Even though the last two dishes wasn't as great, it was still good and flavorful. The veggies are fresh and refreshing to the dish. Not overly cooked. Will definitely come back to try other selections from the menu. Oh, one more thing, they do not have the Banh Mi sandwich anymore. There is a picture out with an outdated menu. Was trying to call to get more information on the hours and place an order as we were driving to Oxford, but no one ever answers the call. We chose to go to another place that answered their phone and were open. Not having a voicemail set up or a message when people call with info on the hours and business is bad for business. read more

Drunken Noodles, they ask how spicy from 1- 5 mine is at a level 2. The spring rolls are great! As well as the clear vegetable soup. I recommend the pot stickers, & pad Thai too. The workers are really nice people that provide great service! read more

Speaking on behalf of a colleague, the experience sounded so awful I felt compelled to back his opinion. He received pho noodle soup with out the noodles. Spicy thai fried rice without spice. He may as well just asked for orange chicken and just gotten oranges. Absolutely 1 star and unlike my idol Cartman, I will not be persuaded by their probably terrible desserts. read more

It is an extremely bizarre dish here. Resembles no pad kee mao I've ever had in the US or Thailand. Extremely bland and strange. Wrong type of noodles, wrong sauce, no greens or Chinese broccoli, no fresh chile, just a mountain of carrots and this very bland chile flake/paste. Everything is just a bit off- maybe the Oxford effect. The owner seems to know what she's doing- she runs the restaurant strongly and firmly- but the food reflects a total lack of care or effort. I wonder if she just doesn't care at all, or just realizes she can get away with total mediocrity in Mississippi. This is a hidden place next to a gas station on North Lamar. I placed a pick up order and they were very prompt and organized. The egg rolls are different than Chinese egg rolls, but still good. There was ground chicken and vegetables in them and they were less greasy than most egg rolls I have tried. The Thai fried rice had the perfect amount of chicken and veggies mixed in it, but it was a little bland even at medium heat. The Panang curry was also full of fresh vegetables, but was very bland for a curry. Next time I will get hot because their scale is different than other Thai places. read more

Just pointing out that the veggie dish has fish sauce in it so it is NOT suitable for vegans or vegetarians even. When asked, it seemed pretty much everything had fish sauce in it and could not be made without. There is a label for vegan attached to this place but there was only one soup as a viable option. The food here is just not good. It's both cloyingly sweet and abbrasively salty at the same time. Those are the only two things you can taste in the food: sugar and salt. Other than those two flavors, the food also manages to be bland. Don't ask me how it can do that, it just does. I ordered Pad see Ew and it was a dry mess of noodles that were all stuck together. My boyfriend ordered the Pad Thai and there was quite literally no sauce tossed with the noodles. Everything is covered in oil and is severely overcooked. On top of that, the service is just unpleasant. Overall, Zaap is just not worth the money. You may get your food fast, but it's like you get it almost too fast. Personally I don't think you should be able to cook an order for two in under 5 minutes. It's just suspicious. There's no reason to go here, especially when Rice & Spice exists in Oxford. read more

My previous few experiences of Zaap were fine, but today's was undeserving of even three stars. I feel compelled to give them 3 based on all of my experiences rather than just this one. Tonight, I ordered Pad see Eew and a side order of the fried rice. The pad see eew seemed to have no sauce, it was dry, the noodles were stuck together. The fried rice was NOT thai fried rice (which is typically herbaceous, spicy, aromatic) and honestly was just bland and left sooo much to be desired. Thai food is my absolute favorite and to see it done so poorly is such a disappointment. I'll keep sticking to my other Oxford Thai faves! Zaap just doesn't cut it read more

Seems not to be much of a restaurant. Unlike other Thai places they did not ask for your spice level so the food wasn't very spicy/hot but more sweet in nature. A little bit more cabbage used in dishes compared to other Thai places in oxford. But still really good food, with nice people. read more
