We also decided to have our tired ugly concrete patio and walkways near the pool resurfaced (another 500 sq. ft.). NLKD pricing was very competitive and we trusted all the positive reviews along with a highly complimentary recent referral from a friend/neighbor. Angel and Hans did excellent quality work from start to finish. They carefully masked off our pool and all areas adjacent to the project. The team worked hard every day, finished ahead of schedule and left our backyard immaculately clean and tidy when all the work was completed. The owner came out for the estimate and answered all questions. Once I said yes to the estimate, we agreed on a start date. The crew finished in the estimated time. A few points: -Deck looks great. They applied their surface material in a flagstone style. Very happy with the color palette and how slip resistant the surface is. Is it as cool as our original authentic Keystone Kool Deck coating? No. But it is cooler than other surfaces I've encountered in the valley. -We have a pool net with hooks that fasten into metal eyelets drilled into our pool deck surface. The crew was able to preserve the eyelets so we can continue using our safety net, no problem. -The owner told us that we'd see a white powder appear soon after installation, that it was part of the curing process and would eventually wash away. I was slightly alarmed to see the once pristine finish spotted with the powder, but he was right. A few months later, and the powder spots are nearly all gone. -Cash or check only. (50% down at start. 25% after initial prep work. 25% when complete). Very happy with the outcome. We now look forward to spending time at the pool instead of cringing while looking at an ugly, chipped surface.

And, the fact that they have been " in business for 40+ years (but, now Angie's List it shows 60+ years). If they've been in business that long they must be doing something right. The owner was punctual & professional. His workers were nice however, we never knew when they were going to show up, how long they'd be gone for lunch or what time they left. I asked them to tell us since we had 2 dogs locked in the house while they were working. The finished product looked pretty good, from what I could see, since it was too cold to get in the pool. I didn't like it at the separation between the pool & the in-ground spa. The owner sent them out, weeks later, to fix the area. By the end of the swim season I started seeing some hairline cracks, etc. I called the owner again but, he had just lost a loved one. So, I gave him several months before asking him to send them back out. They did eventually come out & fixed the areas. Once swimming season started again I started seeing all kinds of hair line cracks, a rather large crack by the steps & some sort of gouge right by the top step. Again, ""adequate"" seems to be the new norm.

Communication was great throughout. They were always on time. Mario works as hard or harder than his employees. They demoed part of my wall to expand my gate and rebuild a pillar.
