Around 9:30 p.m., my husband, my daughter, and I came in together. Although we arrived together, we were each making our own separate purchases. There were only two employees working: a male lead and an employee named Bella. The male employee was helping my husband, and Bella was assisting another customer. When the male employee finished with my husband, my daughter went to his register for her purchase. Once Bella became available, I stepped up to her register. Instead of helping me, Bella asked if the other employee was already helping me. Both I and the male employee explained that we were making separate purchases, but she still seemed irritated. I even asked her, "If you don't want to help me, just let me know." Rather than reassuring me, she abruptly set my items down and appeared more interested in helping the customer behind me, who she greeted with a hug and seemed to know personally. It made me feel like I was being pushed aside so she could help a friend instead. The male lead actually stepped in and told Bella that I was next in line and that she needed to help me. Even then, Bella continued making comments as she walked by, and he told her she needed to stop because it was unprofessional. By that point, I felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed that I told her I no longer wanted her to assist me and would rather wait for the other employee. He apologized to me for the situation and acknowledged that Bella's behavior was inappropriate and said she would be receiving a verbal warning. My family spent between $700 and $800 during that visit, and we've been repeat customers for a long time. This wasn't about the amount of money we spent--it was about being treated with basic respect. No customer should be made to feel like they're less important because an employee wants to help someone they know instead. I appreciate how professionally the male lead handled the situation, and that's the only reason I'm not giving this place an even harsher review. I genuinely hope Bella reflects on how she treats customers because no one should leave feeling embarrassed or unwelcome after simply waiting their turn in line.
