Writing this as I sit waiting for my pickup order that I placed about an hour ago for a 12:30pm pickup. The parking lot was very full around noon on a Wednesday but the restaurant only had a few tables full and no one in line. They did have dance tracks playing at about 3 ticks too loud for the occasion and setting. After waiting for a little over 5 minutes, my food was brought out to the tunes of Lady Gaga's poker face. Not horrible but I am pretty sure they did not start assembling my food until I arrived which is not great...here is to hoping the food is good... Later....So, I ordered the chicken enchiladas combo plate and a fish taco. The taco had an appropriate serving of fish with decent flavor and texture with the fresh toppings. I only got the sour cream in my first bite and it definitely could have used more but the taco is still tasty without. Tortillas are good. Upon first glance the enchiladas looked decent. As they say, looks can be deceiving! I always get chicken enchilads when ordering for the first time at a Mexican style restaurant as I think they are a good indicator. Refried beans need salt and fat badly. Rice is ok but also dry. Now, the star of the show the supposed "chicken" enchilads. Wow in the worst possible way. First, there is not a shred of chicken amongst the unmelted pre shredded "Mexican cheese blend". Not only that but I found a single piece of meat that is not chicken and most likely is pork. Luckily I do not have any dietary restrictions but if you do beware. I may try reheating these terrible excuse for enchiladas later so I can at least melt the cheese and pretend I ordered cheese enchiladas without chicken, which I would never. The enchiladas alone deserve a zero star review. Disappointing. Giving two stars for the fish tacos okness and lady gaga. Will not be back. Do not recommend. read more

I like how they are open early and they serve breakfast all day. Walking in it's a small place, but enough tables. You order at the counter and they call out your number to pick up. I ordered the fajita trio Mexican bowl. I got it without tomatoes but to add the green chili. Husband ordered the combo number 20; enchilada, chile rellano, and something else I can't remember. Anyways, I can comment on mine only. It was very good. But with all the sauces; guacamole, sour cream, and green chili it became very soggy. I would probably forgo the guacamole just because I enjoy sour cream. They have a salsa bar with various salsas that I couldn't say what they were. Except for two. One tasted like very hot salsa and the other a mild home made basic salsa. Both were very good, except the hot was a little too hot, which is rare. Next time I want to try a combo as it comes with rice and beans. Cons: the salsa isn't labeled as to what each one is and it's like you have to put a little in the cups to taste it. I can see how they can get busy and no where to sit. But they have a drive thru, so that helps if the parking lot is full. The place can be a little difficult to find as it's at the end of a strip mall. Recommended? Yes. It's more fast food, but really good fast food. When I'm in Pueblo and want Mexican quickly, I would go here. read more

The service was very good. Our takeout order was ready when I walked in the door. The food was good, but nothing over the top. The cheese and chicken enchiladas tasted more like tamales, the carnitas were good, but were shredded vs large chunks of meat and had some fat content. The chips could have been crispier and the Sopaipillas were chewy. What stood out the most to me was the green chili, which I thought was quite tasty. The Carne Asada burrito was 10/10. Found my new fav Mexican restaurant in Colorado!!! It's a step up to the counter and order kind of place but they were really quick. There is also dive through if you didn't want to go in. The bathrooms are locked so not sure what the surrounding area is like but we were just driving through. read more

Definitely not what it used to be. Quality has gone downhill. This used to be our go to on Saturday mornings. The past several times, there have been problems with procuring what was ordered. There's no problem with charging the right amount, but food has seemed to be left out of the bag. Last week, I ordered 4 burritos- 3 were to be smothered and then an order of jalapeños on the side. The bad had 3 burritos not smothered and no jalapeños. The receipt was correct but the order taker couldn't comprehend what was wrong. Very frustrating. read more

The staff is very friendly, but was very unorganized tonight. I ordered chips & guac and after waiting the kitchen guy told the lady they were out. After me requesting she refund the money, it took her a little time to figure it out, but she did it only for the man to then tell her we have guac. Our group was already halfway thru their food before all this occurred. My husband and I ordered carney asada plates. I was so bland and I think the meat was round steak. The guacamole was awful. I am from Texas and would eat tacos and Mexican food every day, as a matter of fact I had street tacos last night, but I would give it up if I had to eat here. It was a major disappointment. Delicious veggie burrito. Took a few tries to explain that I just wanted beans, rice & potatoes, smothered w/ chile, lettuce tomatoes w/ sour cream. It came egg HEAVY (didn't ask for eggs) but it being sooo hefty and steaming hot I just decided to enjoy. Very clean bathroom and nice little salsa bar. Let me start by saying I have frequented habaneros for MONTHS almost weekly. Last time I got a burrito I opened the package and to my horror there was a small beetle. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I figured maybe it had flown in right as the burrito was wrapped as it was just in the packaging and not the burrito itself. I should have known that that was a grave mistake because I just went there again today and to my horror there was a hair in the burrito. Not on, IN. I will not be retuning, nor should you. Their hygiene is obviously seriously lacking. I should report both incidents to the health department. read more

Small place with great tasting food. Fast, friendly service. I really liked the adobada with rice and beans. My friend had the enchiladas and raved about them. Daily specials available. We barely glanced at the menu before pulling up unsure if we ordered at the menu or the drive through window. Love this place for what it is: down home delicious simple Mexican food. It's not fine dining, but it's delicious and the price is right. The key to a successful visit: this place is TOTALLY hidden from street view, and it's next door to a closed Mexican restaurant (Cactus Flower). So look for Cactus Flower and drive to table back. Habanero'ss is at the back of the building next door, and it has a drive-through lane. We had breakfast burritos (bean/cheese). Terrific! Great tortilla, great melted cheese, delicious beans. We were going through town on the 4th of July, and most restaurants were closed. I had called many places, to no avail, when I finally found this was open! We headed right over. We're from San Diego, so it takes a lot to impress us with Mexican food, but Habaneros nails it! Incredible food at an incredible price. Hubby got his menudo, and was completely impressed with the flavor and complexity of spices. I got a chicken enchilada, cheese and beans tostada, with rice and beans. We were so impressed with the ambiance when we stepped in what would otherwise be a typical storefront and drive through. This small dining room has plenty of room and windows for 50 seats. The order counter is separated by an artful room divider made from 40 colorful hanging pots of succulents and cactus. Awesome. Now to the food. Our bar is high because we were in Santa Fe on holiday last month, but we think the food and sauces at Habanero's were just as delicious. If you only know 2 words in the spanish language, make them "huevo" and "ranchero" because this breakfast is awesome, big plates of eggs smothered in green chile (lana says not too hot) and refried beans and spanish rice. Visited here yesterday. on Oct 6, 2023, about 11 am, I paid extra money to add onions to the enchiladas, but the cook said they were melted into the enchilada, but I could not see them. I argued for awhile to get some onions that I paid for and he finally, but rather angrily, put onions on top of my enchiladas. A lot of work to get the order I paid for and some bad attitudes added on. Not the best service, would not recommend. Service was garbage. A bunch of teenagers with an attitude problem. They keep changing rules I.e; all grub hub orders need to be picked up inside the store not at the drive thru, or they need to start seeing your online receipt. That wasn't the case my last 2 visits. Having landed in Pueblo on another travel assignment, I started yelping mexican food. The pictures posted showed exactly what I was looking for. Having been born in East Los Angeles and always having those Mexican flavors at my disposal, I grew up spoiled! The appealing things about this place are that they ate open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a drive-thru window which is great if your busy on the run. The menu has a wide selection of tasty options. I went straight for a campechana (chilled seafood cocktail). Super yummy with shrimp, octopus, clams and oysters. The cocktail was mildly spicy with finely diced tomato, cucumber and onions. I was given a choice of crackers or tortilla chips on the side. I had the chips. Next I ordered 6 taquitos with quacamole and cheese with red sauce on the side. Ah this took me back to childhood. I live in Joplin, Missouri and to say there is not much variety for really good Mexican food is an understatement. So , I savor these flavors and relish in the authenticity of great Mexican food when I find it in my travels. This looks like it will be my regular spot whilst here in Pueblo the next 12 weeks and cant wait to try other items on the menu. The burrito was very good compared to other restaurants similar to this, but the fries were some of the best I've ever had. Service is fast and friendly. I also got fried ice cream and Horchata.
