They also have a pretty big used book section. They have a person you can contact to set up delivery, I don't know the prices. Friendly staff, organized & clean store. I dropped off some small items and the staff at the donation door were also friendly. A big space, lots of nice looking furniture, lamps, and a huge selection of books. I bought 3 books but could have bought many many more. I was pleasantly surprised how large this store is. It's a thrift store that's for home stuff - furniture, art, books, kitchen wares, and even paint & lightbulbs. Prices seemed reasonable - $200 for a queen bed frame & $5 for upholstered chairs There's a clean public bathroom. My only complaint is they're marked accessible because they have an entrance ramp - but there's no door opener so it isn't accessible on your own if you use a mobility aid. read more

When shopping second hand furniture I value variety, cleanliness (especially no weird odors), and convenience-- I think the price point of the store is very reasonable for meeting these criteria. If you are looking for gently used furniture at a reasonable price, Restore is the best place to go. They have a very large selection with rapid turnover so if you don't see what you are looking for, a visit a week later will have lots of new items to check out. Typical prices: sofas $200-350, dining room table and chairs $100-350, and long rows of dressers, bookcases, lighting fixtures, some lamps, desks, and so on. They also have a few items that appear to be store samples so not used. They do not hold items so if you want it, you need to buy it else it will be gone before you come back. They don't deliver but can give you the number of a service you can arrange for about $100, or there is a UHaul place just a few doors down. Shopping here is way more efficient than online listings for one item at a time and when you go see it, you don't like it. I had about 10 pieces of furniture to donate ranging from a china cabinet to kitchen chairs. The person I spoke to on the phone about arranging the movers was very helpful. However as I agreed to the service I was told there was an $18 booking fee. I was under the impression it was deducted from the final price. So this seemed reasonable. It was not. Also a 7% fuel charge was added. Maybe I did not look at the estimate close enough. The movers were very nice and took extra items at an additional hefty price. Just be aware of the charges, they are not doing you a favor!! read more

I'm shocked and appalled with the way I was treated during a donation drop off at the Habitat for Humanity location on 1580 VFW Parkway in West Roxbury, MA - specifically the behavior of one employee. As the employees / volunteers were inspecting my donations I noticed that one employee was not wearing his mask. I politely asked him to please wear it or to keep his distance. He responded by saying he was "exempt because he was eating" and then, unprovoked, called me a "f*cking b*tch" while giving me the middle finger. I was too shocked to respond after that, but I asked to speak to the manager on duty before I left. The manager acknowledged what had happened but brushed it off, since according to him, the person who had insulted me was a "volunteer" and not an employee. I'm not sure how this matters -- his behavior, volunteer or otherwise, is a representation of the organization as a whole and it's not OK. I'm upset and saddened by these events but more importantly, I am bothered by how everything was handled. We are in the middle of a pandemic and masks are required -- this type of verbal assault is unwarranted, unsafe, misogynistic and unacceptable. We won't be making any further donations to an organization that condones this type of disrespect, and if you respect social distancing and women in general, I recommend you avoid it as well. read more

It's hard to tell if they'll have something you're looking for, but if you're nearby and able to check it out, they really have some amazing deals! When we moved into our new condo, we needed quite a bit of furniture. We didn't find any TV stands, one of the main things we were looking for, but we did end up leaving with a table and chairs and a desk for a total of only $100. Good furniture for low prices and the proceeds go to a great cause. I'd definitely shop here more often if only there was a closer location! read more

I actually never even knew this store existed in this, what used to be, ugly and old plaza off the VFW Parkway. Now, with the new remodel of the "Parkway Plaza", I thought I'd see what else has moved into the center, and realized this store just moved into a new space further down in the plaza, in the last building. I honestly wasn't expecting much due to the fact that I had been to one of these Habitat For Humanity stores before (in South Attleborough), that was absolutely horrible. It was a discount junkyard of cabinets and old appliances. This store; however, is a completely different story, and a 'used', discount store that I would personally highly recommend. First, it's a gigantic warehouse consisting of many departments that are all organized and actually presentable (in comparison to the piles of stuff all around in the Attleborough store). There are large sections of furniture, appliances, chairs, books, hardware, lighting, desks, tables, dining room tables, and much much more. Most of the stuff is in decent enough condition, and even while some is not my style, it could be attractive to others. Lots of office chairs, DVD's, and VHS' too. Staff are friendly and the motivation to help others and build homes for those who need it is a wonderful cause in general. Plus, the people in the area donate so much great stuff to help the cause. Lots of treasures, especially if you search around this place. Definitely a place worth stopping into that honestly isn't disappointing. 4 stars. read more

We found a table and when we took the tag up to pay for it they said someone else wanted it and had left earlier to get a bigger car. Other items in the store had "sold" signs on them (this one did not) so I asked if it had been paid for and was told by multiple employees that the other interested party had not paid for the item. Apparently he hadn't paid for it because he "wasn't sure it would fit in the other car either", which to me meant he wasn't even certain he was going to buy it. We told them we were willing to pay and take it then but they refused to sell it to us despite no logical claim made to the table. I have purchased from ReStores, antique stores, thrift stores, and consignment shops all over the country and it's common knowledge that until an item is paid for, there is no claim/hold. You pay for the item and then have a certain amount of time to pick it up. The first employee we spoke to even said "this is why we don't do holds". We all but begged them to sell us the table. An employee told us we could "stay until close to see if he showed up or not" which was an hour and a half later, and the manager, Adam, said the best they could do was call if the guy didn't show up. We told them that we live almost an hour away and it would be a really big inconvenience to come back, especially since we were standing there, money in hand. I understand them not wanting to go back on their word, but the manager should have stepped up and taken responsibility for the mistakes that were made (allowing a hold without payment, and another price tag being placed on the "sold" item). I'm confident the other guy is not coming back (if he actually wanted the table he would have paid for it) but I have little hope that we'll get a phone call. I'm so annoyed with how they handled the situation that I wouldn't drive all the way back even if they did call. **update: they did call because wouldn't you know.. the other guy never showed up. They said we could pay over the phone and then come pick it up. Hmm NOW you won't hold it unless you have payment first? read more

I never write reviews, but I am incredibly disappointed by the way this organization handled my furniture donations that I wanted to warn others. I had several large (and very nice) furniture pieces that I was donating as part of a move and have historically been a huge fan of HfH. They subcontracted an unprofessional moving company to collect the items who upcharged me on each donation, were unable to move several pieces (in spite of my request/instructions to send 3 movers), damaged my dresser (and were ultimately unable to move it) and then crashed into the wall when moving another piece. The organization charged me the full price of collecting the pieces and did not even offer a partial refund due to the fact that I will have to cover the damage caused to the hallway in my apartment complex. Just an awful experience all around. As sad as it is, please look elsewhere when donating your furniture! I have other pieces that I will be donating, but will certainly not be using this organization again. Hope this helps others! read more

This place is awesome! I bought kitchen cabinets here, that would have cost me Thousands of dollars and the quality is amazing. This is an upper end yard sale on steroids. The prices are low for really good stuff... appliances, lighting, paint, furniture, sinks, windows, doors, etc. Plus, imagine how many large and small household items are being saved from landfills. ReStore is an active arm of Habitat for Humanity, which for 20+ years has been attracting volunteers to help low income people build modest, but solid house's, all over the world. I don't work for the company, I'm just a happy and satisfied returning customer. Last but not least, they just moved to a new location... two doors down, which now has doubled their size! I am filing a complaint against the floor or center manager of the West Roxbury location. I am a regular customer and last Friday I was in the store and had spotted a lamp. The price on the lamp was clearly listed as $25 dollars. I approached a cashier and since there was a crack in the lamp, the cashier thought he would negotiate a cheaper price for me with the manager. In the mean time another customer approached the lamp and wanted to buy it. I am woman of color and this other customer was a white male. I kindly, told this customer that I was purchasing the lamp. Then the store manager approached me and told me that the lamp was supposed to be $40 dollars. I told him that I needed the price that was on the ticket. Clearly the manager did not want to sell me the lamp and instead wanted to sell it to the other customer. He gave me a list of excuses ranging from that fact that this must have been a pricing mistake (in that case he legally had to sell it to me at the advertised price); or that a customer must have changed the price tag to get it for cheaper (in that case they would have purchased the lamp - not left it there), he also told me that the lamp was worth hundreds of dollars and that $25 dollars was not enough. Due to his poor excuses, I am inclined to think that this was a racist treatment from the manager because he wanted to sell it to the Caucasian customer and to make matters he insinuated that I or another customer had changed the price on the lamp. read more
