ReStore is literally in a category of its own. This is THE largest thrift space I have ever been in. But it isn't the quantity the blows you away. It's the quality. The first sofa that struck my eye was sweetly priced. Alas my small space couldn't handle this piece even if I tossed out 2-3 pieces just to make room. Regret. I shouldn't have sat in it because the instant "OMG, this is so good " just intensified the regret. I just wandered around in a sea of temptation. Every time I turned a corner the space opened up even bigger. The dining section is nothing less than phenomenal. There was classic china both vintage and modern. There were delightful curios for the table and for all your nooks and corners. There were tea and coffee services, punch bowls, complete silver services some clearly heirloom quality. And then there was more! The tool section! Power tools, hand tools, parts, fasteners. And not just random odds and ends but stacks of each item clearly leftover from a major building project. Like the paint section. To my inexpert eye, there's enough to paint a small house. Prices ranged from "they just want to get rid of this" to " I'm pretty sure a big box store somewhere out there might have a better sale" . The latter usually applied to obviously new items still in their original packaging. Some packages were still factory sealed. To be honest, I regretted not eating enough lunch and bringing some water. The size of the store was just wearing me out. I clearly need to come back with a list. It's so big in there, you can't just randomly browse you need to focus. Just off the top of my head, I've been looking for glass dinner plates for ages. It's something I keep an eye out for when I'm shopping, but I just haven't randomly encountered any that I liked. Boom! And just exactly which style would I like? For once too much selection was the problem. Well, that's a great problem for any store to have. When I got a chance to interact with the staff, they were completely delightful. I'd say morale at this location must be extremely high because you can't sustain a mood like that if the workplace is stressed. Well worth going out of your way to visit the store. And... pianos, desks, lamps, china, dishes, framed windows... cleaning supplies. One of a kind- dressers, bookcases, lamps, rugs, many styles. Do this!! Great place to donate your left over "construction materials ". If you are "done" remodeling... bring the leftover stuff here. Good idea to call first, to make sure they can use your donations. I would've been better off dragging my furniture to Goodwill myself. I scheduled a pickup and went out of my way to communicate everything clearly--gave them my contact info and my husband's. Somehow they still managed to write it down wrong. Because of their mistake, they completely skipped picking up a huge, heavy piece of furniture that took a ton of effort to move outside. So I had to waste even more time waiting around for them to come back. And when they finally did, they actually made my elderly father help them load it into their vehicle. I'm paying $50 for them to take free furniture they're going to resell, and they still can't even manage basic professionalism or provide the labor they're charging for. Based on my experience, this place is wildly overpriced, disorganized, and absolutely not worth the headache. I would not trust them with anything. I was in the area and decided to stop by. This place is right at the corner and there's tons of parking. This place was pretty big and they had a ton of things. A lot of furniture and appliances. The appliances seemed to be in amazing condition and the price was amazing. They also had a lot of home decor. The furniture was 50 percent off. I was able to find a few frames at excellent prices. The staff here was very help and friendly. Pricing was excellent. Highly recommend this place. read more

Decided to stop by yesterday on the hunt for some new small furniture. I was completely disappointed when I saw what I'm assuming was management and an associate taking pictures of items and checking what they sell for online. I stood there as he scanned the items and the women asked "how much do they go for online" she even told the man to use a tag for that item that won't allow it to be discontinued. It's very upsetting because we all know Goodwill has gone completely insane with their pricing! And it's so disappointing that places like this are doing the same thing. We love to visit the thrift stores for reasonable pricing not "RETAIL" or "Online" prices! I will no longer be supporting this business and I would recommend others to do the same. This is my 4th Habitat for Humanity - Restore and it's ranking pretty high up my favorites list! I love love LOVED my visit here. Not as big as my #1 (located in Torrance) but the selections are fantastic, and all were reasonably priced. They have a variety of things to offer: furniture, appliances, tools, paintings, kitchenware, dishes and glassware, etc... TONS to look at and choose from! And then! To make their deals even sweeter (and kinda fun, depending on how you see it) they have a wheel of discounts! They tag certain (already discounted) items and at payment, you get to spin a wheel for an additional discount! No other HFH-R's I've been to has ever done anything like this! I ended up with great deals (50% off Farberware cookware, a couple of vases, etc...) The bonus is seeing people at the "restore section" doing some actual restoration. THAT was cool. Staff were friendly and helpful. They and customers alike are mindful about social distancing and following pandemic protocols. I also learned a few tips from regular patrons. Overall a great visit. Great spot employed by great people. You never know what they're going to have and for the most part it's always good quality and tested items. If you're renovating your house or just looking for a cool knick-knack like a vase or a painting, you should stop in and see what's there. I love to go here and buy new glasses for my kitchen because I like real glass and crystal tumblers and hate paying full price for something I know my kid is going to inevitably drop. But I do love to pick up the furniture and home good stuff as well. Also a great place to buy tools and saw blades and screws if you know exactly what you need and you're going to be okay if they don't have it. I have saved thousands and thousands of thousands of dollars here over the years, on the items, as well as on being able to bring them home myself because the staff is so awesome and helping you pack up your car or whatever truck you rent to get your stuff home. This store needs to get some experienced people working where you drop off the donations. Not some kid who's working during his summer break. This kid refused a real neat looking vintage Philco tube type radio because, in his words,"We don't take electronic stuff". As he examined my other donation items he had to constantly ask one of his co-workers, "Do we take stuff like this?" I got frustrated and took my stuff to the Father's House. Find great items and support a fantastic cause! I had the Good Fortune to run into Lynn, who manages this location. She gave me a background on the store and how the whole operation works. This is really a hidden gem in the city of Fairfield. They have all kinds of good merchandise all the way from furniture to electric supplies to you name it. Keep in mind this is actually very high-quality merchandise. They have quite a large selection of hardware, plumbing, even painting materials. I am astonished at the selection they have here. A lot of it is absolutely brand new. They often have great sales going on--for example from 20 to even 60% off today. At the register, they even spin a wheel to give you a bigger discount. What in the world is going on here? Patronize thia store and support a fantastic cause. The proceeds from your purchase go to help working families who are desperate for housing. The "HOLD" policy needs to be re-examined by upper management. When items are being held longer than 2 hours for certain people vs. being held barely 2 hours for others is NOT good business ethics. The staff are unprofessional and rude especially once you tell them how their "HOLD" policy works. Someone needs to investigate. read more

My most recent experience was great. I got a dining room table because they were running a sale for 60% off tables and lighting about 3 weeks ago. Keep your eyes open for the signs displayed. DO NOT TRUST THEM ... THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE!! We have had them pick up furniture from the side of our house without there being an issue, and they raved about the quality and condition of the large items that we donated. However, this time they showed up 10 minutes before closing and stated that 1) they would not take the furniture from the side of the house 2) they have a deadline (to stop working at 4:00 pm). Why pretend like you are in the business of helping people when you're really not concerned with providing people who need assistance with quality home furniture. This stuff is brand new. It hurts my heart to know that due to time constraints the furniture had to be discarded when it could have been a wonderful help to someone. AGAIN I REPEAT DO NOT TRUST THEM TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION FOR PEOPLE IN NEED. Very sad read more

I arrived to pay for a Buffet I had on HOLD along with two sawhorses! The buffet was sold to someone RIGHT in front of me as I waited in line to COMPLETE THE PURCHASE it! The manager proceeded to tell me about the HOLD policy however my other items were still there with the tags on them! Upon entering the store, the employee at the door INFORMED me that they had just called me! this was an unfair practice if the policy is to remove the tags in TWO hours ALL tags should've been removed!!! This is BAD business and an EXTREMELY poor attitude displayed by the manager Jen! workhorse is still left on hold I was there to witness the transaction (as I stood in line to get the items)This wasONLY my second store time in the store! I am very disappointed with this establishments inconsistency! The manager was rude, QUESTIONED me about being "Late" as though I was in COURT She lacks reason, LISTENING skills and understanding! I have always thought highly of the mission and service Habitat of Humanity has, and over the years have donated some very high quality furniture and other items rather than selling them through a consignment store, because the company helps so many people in need, And I felt good about donating to them. My opinion of there selling practices has dropped from a 10 to a zero. Here is why. Yesterday about 3pm I went to the Fairfield store looking for a bookcase and found just what I wanted but would need to pick it up in the morning with a vehicle to transport it home. The clerk at the register very kindly took my name and put a 'Hold' on it, saying I could pick it up anytime before 11am in the morning. The next morning I arrived at 10am just as they opened for the day. I told one of their employees I had come to pay and pick up my item. We went back to see it and yes it was still their but my name and the 'Hold' ticket had been removed and the price had been increased to triple what it was when the hold had been put on it. Fortunately the same clerk who put the hold on it was there and verified everything. But after she talked to I think the manager, they refused to honor the original price saying a mistake had been made by another employee . The total cost was still reasonable but it just seemed like a 'bait and switch' and totally dishonest. I decided not to purchase the item and also do not plan on giving or buying anything from them again. read more

They have a lot of random house stuff like pipe connectors, tile, paint, screws, blinds, bathroom stuff, random kitchen stuff, paintings and more random things. They also have a good selection of desks, mirrors, display cases, dressers and tables. If you're looking for kitchen appliances like stove tops, washers and dryers, microwaves, they have them here too! Like I said, random stuff for daysss. I personally got a nice tennis racket for $8! Lol I really wanted a pair of roller blades for only $35 but I passed. I should have gotten it though! The people staff was very nice. And all of the profit goes to habitat for humanity! I'm disappointed. I've been in the store about three in the 18 months making donations each time of fairly large furniture items. I went in today because I had heard the store was remodeled, and I was looking for some furniture for an elderly friend of mine. I have to say your prices are ridiculous. I had been looking at new furniture with free delivery online through Wayfare which was cheaper in many instances and of course was brand-new. The fact that you will not negotiate according to your sign, is absurd. For example, a three cushion sofa, heavily used, stained an off cream color due to many years of use was $300. That is unbelievable, but very consistent with the majority of your furniture items. The idea behind your store and the work you do is outstanding, but you have to make some changes in your pricing. I have no need to shop there, I'm trying to do a favor for a friend without much income. There is nothing at the Fairfield store I would currently buy, at any price, anywhere close to what you have marked. Please get reasonable and do some better research on your pricing. The people working there seemed to be better informed employees, they were all very cheerful and helpful, and the store has implemented some customer friendly programs. Not sure if it's new management, but they have come a long way since my disappointing experience several years ago. all the good guys are gone, Brendan and Jacob were such nice guys on pickups. its all younger kids now not knowing what they take or how to handle furniture correctly. let alone strong. the people now aren't really knowledgable of what they do and do not take. Jake and Brendan used to kill it on pickups. they were nice, respectful and funny. if they didn't take one of our donations it was because of a understandable reasoning. they would politely tell us why, explain everything going on and show us why. if anyone was in need of help, our situation of our father passing. in need of help, they would either work with us and gladly take it even if it didn't "pass" there need. they would take the items out of consideration for help or give us other options to donate too. I was recommended by a neighbor who has had those two men pick up donations. read more
