The motor is on the top of the "stick" along with the dust collection canister. This vacuum was terrific and I probably vacuumed 2 to 3x a week sometimes. . Then we got two cats from the SPCA. I was still diligent to empty the canister when it was full and clean the rotating brush from tangled hair. It was great for another year then the red light came on. I took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly. Red light stayed on. I finally Yelped for vacuum cleaner repair shops and can you believe there's one barely a mile from my house! It's right next to the Sheetz and directly in front of Giant! It's a really big building. I had no idea. I stopped in to visit Nova Vacuum on Friday. Spoke a couple guys in there. They were really nice. They said they'd call me Monday. However about 90 min later, while I was at Sue's Laundromat prepping for winter, I received a call that they know what the issue is. Cost prob $120. We'll call you Monday. Finally the next Friday I called them back and asked if it was ready. They said yes. Maybe I misunderstood about Monday. Maybe it was ready Monday. But I walked in, I turned it in and tested on their carpet. Seemed to work. I paid like $118 bucks for a great cleaning and new rotating brush. I got home and vacuumed for almost 2 hours!! Stopping to dump canister and cut hair from rotating brush. My carpet looks great again!!!! And the guy at Nova Vacuums said my Shark Robot was one of the best vacuums in his professional opinion!! I am LIT over this outcome! .If you need yours fixed or even a "new to you", used vacuum, come to Nova Vacuums here in Warrenton. The place is no palace but the guy knows what he's doing!!

Unprofessional and Hostile Customer Service…read more I had a very disappointing experience with Nova Vacuums. I dropped off my Miele vacuum on Saturday, August 8, simply to have it looked at and find out what the repair would cost. On Wednesday, August 12 at 1:33 PM, I received a voicemail from Lou regarding my vacuum, followed by a text message at 1:36 PM asking me to call. I returned his call that same day at 3:29 PM, and we spoke for approximately three minutes. During that conversation, he gave me a $192 quote for the repair. I explained that I needed to speak with my partner before deciding whether to proceed and told him I would let him know after speaking with my partner the following day. I unfortunately forgot to call on Thursday. Today, Friday, August 14 at 12:43 PM, I received a text stating that they had not heard from me and asking me to pick up my vacuum as soon as possible. I immediately returned the call at 12:44 PM. I also want to point out that I have poor cell service where I live, and I have no other incoming call records showing that he tried to contact me during that time. The call records I do have show his original call/voicemail and my return call to him on Wednesday, as well as my immediate return call today after receiving his text. Returning someone's call approximately two hours after receiving a voicemail should not be treated as some kind of offense. People have lives, jobs, responsibilities and things going on. I am also pregnant and currently preparing for a baby. Forgetting to call the following day was my mistake, but it was an honest oversight and certainly did not warrant the way I was treated. When I returned his call today, instead of simply discussing the situation, the conversation became extremely confrontational. I was spoken to rudely, accused of trying to hurt his business, and told to come get my vacuum ASAP. He then hung up on me. The entire interaction was completely unnecessary. A professional business should be able to communicate with a customer about a repair without becoming hostile or making accusations. At this point, the $192 repair will not be going to someone who treats customers this way. I will be taking my business elsewhere, and I will also be letting people I know about my experience so they can make an informed decision. After reading other reviews mentioning an explosive attitude and rudeness, I unfortunately understand exactly what those customers were referring to. He may have extensive knowledge about vacuums, but knowledge of vacuums does not make up for poor customer service. His customer service seriously lacks professionalism, and his hostile attitude toward me was completely unnecessary. I have screenshots of my call history and messages documenting the timeline. I am sharing this review because customers deserve to know that technical knowledge is only part of running a business -- how you treat your customers matters too.

Left and called the insurance company. He came back in and said the unit was not covered. I asked what he told them to have the claim denied. He would not tell me. I asked what his assessment was of the machine and what was wrong. He would not tell me that either. This place is a scam. Avoid at all costs. There are many other appliance repair places to go to and not have to deal with this horrible service and attitude.

He properly evaluated there were major broken parts costing $500 to repair and left the house to file the warranty claim. Not only did we have the original two year warranty, but I spent an additional $130 for extending the warranty to five years. After he left our house, he reported that the failure was due to "overloading the washer" with no evidence, no indication, and no common sense. We are two grandparents living by ourselves with little laundry that we do quite often, so the loads are small. Whirlpool used to be a quality brand, and with a $600 washer with all of the sensors included to complete a proper wash, you would think the sensors would let you know if it truly was overloaded. Anyway, specifically because of the DMV technician's claim that the damage was our fault, the insurance will not reimburse us. I have filed a claim to the Better Business Bureau and will continue to fight this until it is fixed.

My family has been coming to Rankin's for years, so I decided to patronize a small business. I went in to window shop just to get a feel for what we were interested in. I was immediately greeted and they let me look at the showroom. I fell in love with three different couches and they offered me literature on all three. I immediately returned upon opening to make a purchase. They helped me customize pillowcases for my new pieces. I even got to talk to Mr. Rankin himself! Delivery was easy, too! They hauled my old furniture away for a small fee. I adore my new couch and loveseat and get compliments often. This was two years ago and I'm still satisfied! Don't pay for chain store furniture- support a small business and get what you paid for!
