After a brief conversation where Tina educated me a bit more about the process, she agreed to meet at my parents estate in a few days, and she showed up with her partner promptly at the agreed upon time. They were very kind and understanding, and took a good look at what was in the house, asked a bunch of questions, answered a bunch more questions, and generally were great to work with. Unfortunately, there was not enough stuff in the house to make it worthwhile to do an Estate Sale, and they seemed quite apologetic about that, but they still gave me lots of great advice on how to proceed with my goals, as well as the few things that knew from experience would be worth trying to sell separately. It was educational and I'm very thankful for their assistance.

It's one of the few food banks that doesn't require ID, proof of income, or proof of residency. They were really out here trying to do good and help the less fortunate. I see the director Mr. Buggs out there unloading the van daily. The people there work hard. By chance when I moved to Vallejo and was looking for a cheap fridge I saw one for $40 on FB Marketplace. It was Faith Food Fridays. I had no idea until I inquired about it. Someone helped me load it into my truck. I insisted on tipping them an extra $20-40 but they refused. So I told them to take it as a donation for the organization. Another occasion when I interact with FFF was as a representative of another non-profit. I asked to post some flyers for a free pancake day event on their window. They were very happy to help! Mr. Buggs showed me himself where to post them and offered to let me table there on Friday during their weekly distribution. The willingness to help others is truly rare. Often times charities are full of egos. Not here. During the summer I see they often host free showers. Other times it's free haircuts or nail days. I love how they're very open to collaborations with other groups that want to do good and serve the community. Their windows are often full of flyers for events hosted by other organizations. They're good people and if you have items to donate or wants to volunteer this is a place that I believe deserves the support!

When I mentioned it to the person in the back, they commented that they weren't surprised. The lead was quite brazen in his wordplay (they didn't know I could hear) and it got somewhat vulgar. The woman looked like she was not interested, even though she received the free premium items. Do better!

Jose is very helpful and always looking out for everyone and he is the most passionate, hardworking, and kind person. Great break room also. Provides coffee, snacks, and etc! Not too hard to do keep in mind every bag you make is feeding a family and it helps a lot. I was really nervous and afraid that the task of doing community service was going to be hard and I have anxiety and being in there got me the comfort I needed to keep going and the employees always gets me going too. It made me to the fact that I want to donate my time at least once a month after doing 103 hours worth of community service. Jocelyn is also helpful with my situation and is best and giving advice, helping out with my situation, and very caring for those that need community service for any reason! I had absolutely no idea how much the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano does for our community! This place is gigantic! They are committed to providing those in need in our community with healthy food options. This place is stacked with food we are talking racks on racks on racks! If there is EVER a zombie outbreak this is where I am going ‍ we will be set! In all seriousness I was so amazed at all the different ways they help our community! From no ask drive up food donation locations, to suppling large amounts or food to shelters. There are so many ways to get involved with this nonprofit and they need all the help they can get. The food bank is able to purchase food at whole sale less then grocery store prices. Every $1 donated is enough food for 2 meals. You can donate food! But, I explained to him I do reviews on Yelp and he then proceeded to make some interesting remarks. All that aside, we recycled 4-5 garbage bags of cans that filled up 2 of their trash bins. Only got $16 back but it's better than nothing. If you're looking for a recycling center, going here is your best bet. Their prices are better than their competitors and they're organized/clean.

Workers always pick up your bins for you when you're done putting your recycling in as well and receiving your payment is quick and easy via check. Some say you lose more money by turning in recycling by weight instead of per bottle but those like me who just need to recycle and get out right away, this is your place for good value in experience while doing a tedious task. Let's start at the beginning, there was a LOT FULL sign at the entrance, not blocking at all & I saw no attendant there bringing cars in from other lot or anything so I wasn't going to trust that, I slowly pulled in & surprisingly found ONE singular spot open right in front! I wasn't sure if it was a walkway to the front but the line wrapped around the next 3-4 spots so I knew I wouldn't be in any way. I got all my recycling in the first two wired bins I could snag near me, it wasn't until I was in line that I noticed a small sign, not even near the empty cans, that described what materials they wanted placed in specific bins. (There's wired & blue plastic ones) I don't believe I followed what they wanted exactly but they still took my materials! So that's good. I had a broken beaker in my glass & mentioned it to the gentleman doing the weighing & he told me they'd take it I'm fine! I watched as he weighed out my minimal amount of materials & then wrote me out a receipt of sorts. I got to the front, the lady on the right took my clipboard & then said the lady on the left will give me my cash. NOW, I had read Yelp reviews on this place before going & a person said a lady fitting this one's description had jipped her $10 ! Off of a $65 total! Insane! So I made sure to check my money before even turning around to leave, I could tell my amount was $11 & I flipped up the 10 & said politely, "this is only $10, I'm supposed to have $11?" She got flustered & apologized while digging out another dollar for me. I'm glad I read reviews bc I might've walked off & got in my car before realizing, then probably would've been too scared to say something! So that lady being a serial jipper & the state of the parking lot, potholes & no attendant are the reasons for stars knocked off! With a sale like this, prices plummet so precipitously that I end up buying oddball items like mason jars just because I want the lid for my much bigger and more useful mason jar at home. I thought I knew the store pretty well, but I was wrong. There were all sorts of little sections that I had overlooked in my previous visits. I found a little set of bins, loaded with useful supplies for some of my favorite but more obscure hobbies. I was really really impressed by the coffee table that was priced at $.85. That is correct cents. This was so unbelievable that I checked the price tags three times. Unfortunately, it didn't fit my car, it doesn't match any of my decor and it doesn't fit my spaces. Oh well There are some sections, such as the stationary area that are so reliably overstocked that I don't even bother to visit office supply stores or check out Amazon before I shop here. In fact when I wanted to measure an item, I wished I had bought a tape measure. But then it occurred to me that the overstocked stationary area would probably have lots of rulers. Problem solved. For once, I arrived early enough that I could donate. I've been diligently collecting my donations and missing the donation times for almost a year. It pays to sign up for the mailing list because they will unexpectedly shut down donations because they no longer have any storage. This has happened to me multiple times until I wised up and got the emails. I rummaged over enough stuff, lost track of time, and finally snapped out of it when my stomach told me to go home. In spite of the attractive sale,, it was not overcrowded. It was still comfortable and gave you plenty of space to look at items and try to figure out what some of the more obscure objects were. I didn't actually end up buying very much. But clearly the fun was in the treasure hunt.

My wife found two flannel shirts that are of great quality and will be warm during our chilly weather. Pricing was fair, my guess is 50% off of retail. It's a not a big shop like a Goodwill or Salvation, but it's larger the a boutique Thrift Shop. 1st room is mostly clothing, second room is books, dvds, CDs , houseware and electronics. (Very limited electronics). I did find a nice Cheese Knife Set for my Charcuterie collection Staff was super friendly. % Recommend
