I felt that it was necessary for me to comment pertaining to the 7/18/2019 review of R&S Boats. I…read morewas the previous owner of the used Four Winn's boat that had the title issues. The problem with the titles was 100% my problem/mistake and I felt terrible about it. It was in no way the fault of R&S and I told R&S that they should share with the customer that this was totally my mistake and that I was very sorry that it happened. Simply stated, I had misfiled the original titles for both the boat and trailer. When we were looking to trade them in, I requested duplicate/replacement titles from the BMV. Shortly after receiving the new titles, I of course located the originals (Murphy's law) and intended to shred the old and keep the new. Instead, I accidentally signed off the old titles to R&S at the time of the trade-in. R&S had no reason to question anything at all. Of course, my mistake would then be identified at the BMV during the title work. I felt terrible about my mistake, but luckily, I had not yet shredded the duplicate titles and was able to get them to R&S within a couple of days. We have been dealing with R&S Boats now for 10 years for boat and accessory purchases, as well as services, and highly recommend them! We have been treated fairly and professionally and have recommended them to others who have also had good experiences. Sandra, Randy, and the entire R&S team keep up the excellent work!!!

So, of course we can't use the golf cart rental. South Haven is full of tourists, all golf carts are reserved, there is no way this golf cart would not be rented sometime during the weekend. They refused to refund our money, so we're out over 300.00 for three days of cart rental. I have owned a business...I would never treat a customer like that. This just shows you what kind of owners this business has. Go somewhere else where they'll treat your fairly.

That being said, I called today (6/14/20) to rent a pontoon for 3-people (one elderly so I requested a ramp - which I will point out they DO have, that's why they get more than one star!) and the rate has DOUBLED! The rate is now $200 with no deposit/refund (which seems beyond asinine in this business to me - with so much liability) and NO gas included. The boat comes to you gassed-up but then you are subsequently billed for the gas you've used. While I understand a lot of businesses, especially like these, have been impacted by Covid...CLM is not restricted per se and doesn't enough boats for there to even potentially be any social distancing issues. Not to mention gas prices are lower this summer than in probably the last 10-years! Three Rivers and the surrounding is NOT the area for prices like these. I live in Chicago (family here) and you can rent a pontooon for a day there for CHEAPER. That's has never been the case until this year. I'm not sure what's going on or the reason for the increase but you've lost my business (I went and bought a kayak for LESS money than a 1-time rental of the pontoon, that I can own and use any time) and that sucks for me too. I enjoyed renting here in the past. This is not the area or the people that are going to spend this kind of money for mediocre boat on a small lake. I hate to think this but with these prices, CLM will not be renting much longer, I assure you. I'm sorry to write this. I grew up on Corey Lake and it's heartbreaking that the marina has felt the need to make it unavailable now due to the literal doubling in price. The person in the front of the store said I could look through his "scrap bin" if I wanted to. I found a piece of 1 3//4" diameter x 6' long aluminum tube that was bent, with holes in it. I also bought a 2" diameter x 3' long piece from the scrap bin. When he told me it was $48 cash, I expressed my concern about his scrap material price. He said aluminum prices were ridiculously high. I was in need of it so I bought it. Today I called a junk yard and inquired about the price of scrap aluminum. I bought 61 ounces (less than 2 lbs.) from O'Donnel for $48. Scrap prices are $1.10/lb. I understand that it was my choice to buy it, but I am warning anyone who might want to purchase anything from them how they are. I could have looked around more, but I needed it, and he took advantage of the situation. BEWARE!
