I don't understand why people are fighting for a space on the first floor when there are so many parking spaces on the rooftop with a working elevator and stairs. The luxury apartments look nice from the outside, and the residents are lucky to have Target, Ulta, and AMC within walking distance. Plus, there's Pacific Catch, Urban Plates, Shake Shack, and other eateries in every corner to check out. So sad Tipsy Putt is gone, so I hope they open another fun venue.

They both were great but it was interesting or maybe funny that Starbucks didn't have a restroom and they were sending people to Lucky to go to restroom. I bought my first house a 15 minute walk away from here in 1979 for $113,000, and lived here from 1979 to 1988, shopping here all the time. I still have that starter house nearby as a rental, with the similar house next door selling for $1.5 million in June! One rainy evening I was traveling west on Maude Ave, getting into the left turn lane to turn into this shopping center, to pickup pizza, when bang, I was T-boned on the driver side of my 1984 Honda Accord. No airbags in cars in the 1980s. Almost met my maker! Turned out the culprit was an engineer from a nearby firm, driving a rental car, fresh off the plane from Japan, where they drive on the left hand side of the road. His insurance company had the audacity to try to charge me with loss of use for the rental car! Not much has changed through the years. Shopping center is anchored by a Lucky's supermarket, and other stores include KFC, Prestige Wine & Liquors, a 7-11, a Valero gas station, a barber shop, a bagel shop, a Bank of America branch, with Wendy's and a 7 story LinkedIn building across the 8 lane Mathilda expressway, at the traffic lights. Only the pizza joint is gone. Today Saturday morning, I make a 2 mile drive from the Las Palmas Park area, passing Safeway, Sprouts, Trader Joes, and Target, four prominent supermarkets in the area, on my way to Lucky in this shopping center. Something good has to be on sale for me to drive past 4 supermarkets to Luckys. There used to be another Luckys on El Camino Real and Bernardo, but that fell victim to the scam scandal, where thieves in 2011 attached skimming devices to steal credit card numbers on the self check out card machines! I park my 2017 Honda Fit right in front of Luckys. The Fit replaces my 1998 Honda Civic, the most stolen car in America, not a car you want to leave overnight in this area, the sketchy area of Sunnyvale. Both cars are stick shifts, something the new generation of car thieves don't have the skills to drive. Go inside and get 2 lbs of the $9.94 Atlantic Salmon fillets on sale for $6.77 a pound, cheaper than Sprouts $8.99 a pound. Got to remember not to get the sockeye Salmon, which tastes more like a white fish. Other items include four bottles of $4.99 Simply Orange Juice, at $3 each, and two 10 ounce boxes of $1.99 Knott's Berry Farm's raspberry shortbread cookies at $1.39 each. The cookies are all broken up. The Simply Orange Juices are not as good a deal as they seem, ever since the bottle size was reduced from 59 ounces to 52 ounces earlier this year. Sneaky! Everything is hunky dory until I come to the self check out line, as it takes some doing to get the bill finalized. Prices here are on the high side, except for the sale specials. They are selling a ready to eat 30 ounce cooked rotisserie chicken for $10, when Safeway and Sprouts sells it for $8, and Costco $5 for a 48 ounce chicken. And Luckys certainly has lower rental costs than Safeway and Sprouts. Higher cost to cover losses from higher shoplifting rates and bounced checks, as crime rate substantially higher than south of the railroad tracks. But good for holdups, as freeway less than 2 minutes away!

They do have a large variety of stores and food options here, but I really don't like them charging to park. You're already putting money into this place, do they really need to add even more to what is already likely an expensive trip...You only get one hour of free parking, then it's $2/hr with a cap of $15. They do have a designated food pick-up parking area though. It's a large mall with plenty of shopping/dining options.

Overall, I'd still come back and recommend it if you're looking for a mall with lots of shopping and dining options.

If I wanted to visit both Sprouts & Target, I'd park near Sprouts, get one of their carts, sanitize it, go to both stores, and return the cart to Sprouts. Now, Sprouts has put those detectors on their carts, and the magnetic barriers aren't even close. So, one has to move their vehicle within one shopping center and wipe off two carts in order to shop at both stores. And it makes me more likely to eschew the store I need only one or two items from. Assuming others do the same, it's bad for business. And of course, it's very off-putting for customers like myself. Please fix this.

It was supposed to register my license plate when I drove off. By the way, it's three dollars the first hour and then additional three dollars extra each hour thereafter. Imagine my surprise when I was able to clock out in 40 minutes well under the one hour. I'm almost home and I get a text alert from Metropolis (the parking service) asking if I wanted to extend my parking because it expires soon? Um, no! I immediately paid the $3 and then it was supposed to scan my license plate when I left. Clearly the cameras aren't working! After fumbling around on the app/website, I got nowhere. Had to spend enormous time getting the chat person to respond and finally they were really no help at all. The online customer service rep only proceeded to gaslight me and claim that I never initiatied the parking service, which is 100% false (you can see the text confirmation I received). Eventually, I responded to the text saying I was gonna report them to the Better Business Bureau. That got their attention. Ridiculous never again I'm done with Santana Row. It's truly heartbreaking and sad, between the murders and crime and the parking nightmare I am done. RIP Santana Row.

So until the restaurants complain, where's the incentive for Irvine company to change anything?

Westgate Mall is a bit of a tale of two malls. The outlet stores are the reason I keep coming back…read more-- Nike, Old Navy, Gap, and Nordstrom Rack are all solid, and they're connected to the inside of the mall. There's also a Target and Ross, which are convenient anchors. But beyond that, the inside of the mall is pretty much dead -- lots of empty storefronts and barely anyone walking around. The food court is limited: a boba shop, a burger place, an Indian restaurant, and King Eggroll. The recently opened T&T Supermarket has definitely brought in traffic, but since it's not connected to the inside of the mall, it doesn't help revive the interior. Same goes for the stores on the outskirts of the plaza like Sephora, T-Mobile, and others -- good to have nearby, but they don't feed foot traffic inside. To be fair, the mall itself is in decent shape -- it could use a remodel, but it's clean and maintained. What it really needs is more quality restaurants that connect to the interior to give people a reason to actually walk through. Parking is great and easy, which makes quick outlet runs painless. I'll keep coming for the outlets, but I'd love to see the inside come back to life.

If you are looking for Asian restaurants and tea shops, this is a great plaza to come. There is also Kira Kira Beauty store and a salon here. It's also a great area to just get some steps in if you want to walk around.

Some of the Restaurants you can find there are: Lazy Dog, Eureka, Alexander's steakhouse and Patisserie, Pacific Catch, Meet Fresh, Oren's Hummus, Koi Pakace, HAIDILAO HOTPOT, Pineapple Thai, Myungrang Hot Dog, Pizza my Heart, Pacific Catch, Mian Sichuan Noodles and Hey Chicken. There are a few coffee, tea and dessert options as well. These are Somi Somi, 85 degree, Hey Tea, Phil's Coffee and Sul & Beans Korean Dessert Cafe. There is a new Miniso shop, an AT&T store and a Golden Vision store. The residence Inn by Marriott hotel is located there as well as the Loft apartments. There is plenty of parking. It can get very busy in that shopping center. There is a Main Street Cupertino Parking garage located behind the hotel on Vallco Parkway. Parking is free here and they do have charge point and Tesla charging stations available in that parking garage.
