During that time, communication was extremely inconsistent. We were repeatedly told from the event contact, LeeAnn, that we would receive a phone call or a contract "tomorrow," but those promises were never followed through on. We reached out multiple times by text, phone, email, and even left a message with the receptionist. Most of our attempts went unanswered, and when we did receive a response, it was typically just one brief text saying the contract would be sent, but it never arrived. What has been the most frustrating part is that we stopped actively searching for other venues because we were told our date was being reserved. After more than three weeks without a contract or any meaningful communication, we've lost valuable time during a period when wedding venues book quickly. I completely understand that businesses get busy, and if our date was no longer available or if there were another issue, I would have appreciated an honest conversation. What was difficult was being repeatedly told to expect the next step and then hearing nothing. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end. We found another venue, Nature's Pointe, and from our very first interaction, the communication and professionalism were everything we had hoped for. Their team made us feel valued, answered our questions promptly, and made the booking process seamless. While I'm genuinely grateful that we ultimately found the perfect place for our wedding, I wish we hadn't lost three weeks waiting for communication that never came.

Once we booked we arrived we followed the instructions on our confirmation. It gave us a code to a secure box where we were to find the rest of the details for our stay. It felt a lot like a scene from Clue. Fun! Inside looks exactly how you'd hope it to look based on the outside. It's filled with authentic built in furniture in solid sturdy wood. Ours was the Garden Room which was more of a suite than a room. In addition to the queen bed, there is also a separate room (like a living room) with a pull out couch. The living room has a door that leads out to a balcony that looks over the entire property. From there you can see a huge courtyard with a fireplace and luxurious lounge chairs, hammocks and benches. There is a pond, or more of a brook that runs through the back courtyard. I never determined if there were fish. The entire setting is a place for anyone but particularly those who want to take a few days to catch their breath. I sure did. In the morning the DH B&B served homemade quiche, multigrain pancakes, piping hot coffee and juice. If you are going to be in Albuquerque and are doing some comparisons, this one is more than just clean; it's delightful. I am a local. Even so, I'll be treating myself to this again..and again.

I rather enjoyed the design, and the pool area was amazing. The only major drawback was the noise level - you could really hear your neighbors and people in the hallway. Otherwise, the room itself was fine - my air conditioner worked great and the bed/pillows were comfy. Front desk personnel were attentive and helpful - one even gave us a personal list she crafted for places to eat and drink in Santa Fe! Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel.

Rates were clearly inflated because of events happening that weekend, and for what we received, it just wasn't worth the cost. The renovations felt poorly done. The rooms are extremely small and difficult to move around in comfortably. The popcorn ceilings made the rooms feel dated, and the shower setup was frustrating -- the shower heads are mounted very high while the water pressure was very low. That said, there were some positives. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and we slept well. The restaurant food was genuinely excellent, and the customer service from the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Valet service was also inconvenient. You have to specifically request assistance, and luggage carts were not brought to the rooms, which was surprising considering the price point of the hotel. Overall, while the building itself has charm and the staff was kind, the experience simply did not justify the premium pricing.

Affordable and Comfortable Stay Near Old Town Albuquerque - With a Few Caveats…read more We stayed at Sandia Peak Inn - Old Town ABQ (a Howard Johnson by Wyndham), and I'll start by saying this: the price was definitely right. While it's not a luxury hotel, we more than got our money's worth, and I'll give an honest, balanced review. One of the main reasons we chose this property was the availability of EV charging. They offer both a J1772 and a Tesla destination charger, with a $10 nightly fee to use them. That was a great convenience and worked without issue. We booked the accessible oversized king room, which was very spacious, nicely decorated, and included a comfortable bed. We thought it had a sofa but found a day bed instead. The room also featured a small work table and a nice easy chair--well equipped for a short stay. The parking lot is tight, with narrow spaces and limited room, but our reserved EV charging spot helped avoid problems. Breakfast was modest but acceptable. There was a waffle maker, juice machine, coffee, peanut butter (the only visible protein), various breads, jams, and some overripe bananas. Vegetarian-friendly, but not very filling. One downside we experienced was related to smoking. Although our room was non-smoking, the moment I stepped outside in the morning, someone was smoking nearby. While I don't know how frequent this is, it would be preferable if the property were entirely smoke-free, especially near room entrances. The neighborhood felt like classic Old Town Albuquerque. I didn't feel unsafe, but I wouldn't recommend walking the area late at night. The exterior of the property has been nicely styled with Southwestern décor, which adds charm despite the budget-conscious operations. In short: everything wasn't perfect, but it all worked--and for the price, we walked away satisfied.

I made a reservation to stay at this hotel a couple of months ago, intending to stay there this…read moremonth, attracted by the fact that they have a charger for electric vehicles. I did not notice until I had finalized it that the date of the reservation was incorrectly entered to be the very evening that I was placing the reservation. I'm not sure how this error occurred, and as far as I'm concerned, how it happened is irrelevant. I called them immediately to inform them of the error, and to ask them to change the reservation to the date that I actually wanted, calling both the corporate 800 number, and the local reception desk. Both refused to help me, saying that changes in reservations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the anticipated arrival time. I pointed out that I only made the reservation three minutes ago, so meeting their 72 hour rule was obviously physically impossible. Now, I understand the reason for such a rule, and when it comes to a reservation made three months ago, or even three weeks ago, it seems perfectly reasonable. However, it is not reasonable for a reservation made three minutes ago. They were not persuaded, and refused to change the reservation for me. They made $200 from my innocent error. It's certainly my position that it would have been not only reasonable customer service, but wise business practice to help me correct my reservation error. It would have cost them absolutely nothing, and they would have kept my business and my good will. I wrote a review similar to this one on Google, and the owner, himself, answered me in a very nasty fashion, reminding me that it was 100% my error, and their 72 hour rule was clearly stated on their website, adding that I needed to accept responsibility for my errors, and stop blaming others. I would never stay here after being treated so rudely, and losing $200 to them. I encourage you to avoid them, as well. Their competitor, Hotel Mesa Albuquerque Midtown, offers nicer rooms and free car charging.

The owner is by far the hostess with the mostess and my whole family can't wait to book a staycation together! This location is so rich with local history - and colorful spirits! - that it is a must for everyone local or passing through! I am just sad that I haven't been here in person yet! That has been a huge oversight and mistake on my part. The rooms are the right combo of creepy and comfort! I would live here if I could! This is my new favorite spot in Albuquerque! And I'm such a fan girl when it comes to the owner! She's such a strong, empowering example of a business owner. She's exactly the right person to own a place like this! This was such a beautiful historic house and we are so glad we got to stay here while we visited Albuquerque for the first time. Outside of the room, the living room area was full of amenities, as well as cute art and plants. Brad and Steph are excellent hosts, I will recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in a cozy, hospitable and safe hotel.
