The first night I heard what I assumed was a curated "rainforest soundtrack" through speakers. It's not. Those are actual local frogs, and that small detail somehow sets the tone for the whole experience: it feels real, private, and almost unreal at the same time. The room is massive and thoughtfully designed. The outdoor shower is a standout, and the big tub makes it feel like you have your own spa built in. I didn't have a private pool since I'm on the second floor, but the view is so beautiful I stopped caring pretty quickly. What impressed me most was how effortless everything felt. Having an Embajador team plus a driver/golf cart makes the resort feel easy to navigate, and they're quick to respond when you need anything. The pool is stunning and spacious, and the overall vibe is quiet, calm, and never chaotic. The only thing I wouldn't hype is room service. It was underwhelming for the price, especially the lobster. If you're deciding where to eat, go to Positivo near the concierge instead, it was noticeably better. Even when the weather turned intense, it didn't take away from the stay. If anything, it made the resort feel even more cozy and cinematic. Add in the humidity controls in the room (so underrated), and it's one of those places you leave already planning how to come back.

We called and he sent out a local taxi for us (was $35, cash only). We arrived and quickly checked in. It went downhill from there. ATM withdrawal for the cash for the taxi? Machine fee was over $7 (like $7.45?!?!)!! Once checked in...the room was so dirty overall. Very patch wiped if anything. Either the air conditioning filter has never been changed or the rooms have never been properly deep cleaned after PETS staying. Started sneezing and eyes painfully itching uncontrollably almost immediately. Carpet was FILTHY as well -- we saw crumbs of random things by the desk and the room. My allergies got so bad I could barely keep my eyes open -- they were so bloodshot and itchy, I was crying and couldn't wait to be able to leave. Sneezing nonstop too. But by then it was past 1:30 AM already -- hotel is on a high isolated hill and no transportation nor lodging options nearby. To get ready for bed and crash so the nightmare could finally pass, I at least wanted to take a shower. Oh man, bathroom was even worse. I didn't dare shower. You can see the dirty tub and toilet in my photos here. We were so exhausted and upset at that point we didn't even take other room photos. No breakfast included on a Holiday Inn - also new to us. We left as soon as our tired bodies allowed us to. Took photos of the view on our way out. Sad, because the pool and area looked beautiful. Hotel had good bones too, but clearly bad management and NOT the IHG standard we are used to. We will never stay here again and will never fly into Ponce Airport again either. We couldn't believe our eyes...

We reserved a table at the balcony right at sunset at 6pm. We arrived and promptly got thru the security and were taken to our table and it was the most gorgeous view ever. We ordered the signature drink, The Pirata, and it was delish, very strong , and came in a coconut. We then wanted to order dinner. But no server or employee of any kind came to our table for over an hour after we got our drinks. We waited and waited and when we decided to give up and go elsewhere then finally a server came. So we decided to order since it was about 7:15 and we figured it would take too long to go somewhere else and order. My bf ordered the lobster mofongo in some kind of soup and I got red snapper in a plantain crust. Then again we waited and waited. I was so hungry I started trying to pick the coconut pieces out of my Pirata drink. Finally at 8:11 our food was served, And we were starved. I was prepared to hate the food haha but it was actually so delicious. So I guess come here if you are not starved and have tons of time. And you will get a delicious meal w the most beautiful sunset view.

The property is maintained very well and offers a peaceful, laid-back atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. My room was clean and came with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel is right on the beach, and the minimal noise made it easy to relax and enjoy the soothing sound of the ocean waves right from my room. Waking up to that view and sound each morning is an amazing thing. Watching the sunsetting in the evening was perfect. If you're looking for a quiet, clean, and welcoming place to stay in Vieques, Bravo Beach Hotel is a fantastic choice.

When I arrived I was checked in and given a tour of the attractive property by the staff member on duty. My room was spacious and comfortable along with the bathroom that had a shower in it. The ac worked well too. The TV was a smaller screen that I think was less than 32" and was mounted high up on the wall so TV watching could be better. The room had a small refrigerator in it. Shortly after checking in I received a series of text messages from the owner regarding information about Isabel II such as restaurants nearby, grocery stores, taxi info, tour companies, etc, which was helpful. Bravo Beach is well maintained with 2 freshwater pools and less than 20 rooms all with outdoor facing entrances. It is located directly on the water with a beach but swimming is not allowed or desired from the shell beach however the beach is available for walking. The hotel does offer the free use of beach supplies like coolers and folding chairs, etc. if you need them. They do have their own small parking lot and more parking next to the hotel but I'm not sure they have enough parking if all of their rooms are full. The hotel is located about a 6-7 minute walk from the ferry terminal. If I returned to Vieques I would be happy to stay at Bravo Beach Hotel again.

Although he'd reserved a studio, when we arrived, we found we had been upgraded to a one-bedroom unit, as the studio's door was being repaired. Late check in was very easy. The property's deck is large and has a gorgeous view of the beach directly below. You really cannot beat the location of Villa Tropical on Shacks. We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the deck whilst watching the sun rise in the mornings before grabbing our gear and walking down the short flight of steps to the sand. The gift shop within the office is a major time saver, too, when you need a drink or snack but don't want to drive. The Econo supermarket is only about an 8-minute drive away, though, when you do want to do a grocery run. It was awesome having a fully stocked kitchen and being able to cook and eat in most meals. We loved grilling on the deck at sunset! The Ola Lola restaurant is a cute spot a short walk away for food or drinks when one would rather skip cooking, too, and in each room, there is a very thorough guide compiled by the management with information on where to find all kinds of things in the area, from film development to entertainment. It was extremely convenient to be able to do laundry on the premises also. The staff are super helpful and maintain VT very well. Our unit (1B) was clean and comfortable, and by the end of our stay, we had fallen into a nice, homey routine. I was sad to leave and understand why Shacks is a place so many return to every year. The beach is clean, the big waves break far from the shore, there are interesting reefs for snorkeling, many days have adequate wind for kitesurfing, and there is a friendly surfer community among those who stay in the area both longer term and seasonally.

The people here are so accommodating; they have 3 restaurants on the property and they are all equally good. from formal to casual you can't go wrong eating at any of them. i'm a marriott member and had some points that i used for one night and im happy i took advantage of it. unfortunately they are converting the property to a 4 seasons and it will be far more expensive to stay here. The st. regis operates like a luxury hotel should. i would give it 10 stars if i could. i used the spa facilities and the massages we got were first notch. and jesselyn was a great nature guide that took us around the property. we are sad to be leaving.

So here goes!…read more For kids There is an animal shelter with dogs and cats and specialist who will educate you about the animals. There is a small farm with goats to feed. My young kids were delighted with this. There is a boathouse area with free kayaking, standup paddle boarding and inflatable playground. This boathouse also offers more high-tech water sports equipment for rent. For families There are adult bikes and children's bikes on the resort that are complementary. There are golf carts that take you from one area to another as everything is pretty spread out. For example, from the main gate to the hotel is a little less than a mile. Only two free breakfast are included with Marriott status. So if you are traveling with kids, you have to pay $22 plus tip for their breakfast every morning. They have a few sand toys to share out on the beach. The large pool area does have Shallow parts for children. For adults The beach here is gorgeous though setback many yards from the hotel. The pool does not have an adult only area that I know of. There is a nice but small hot tub. You have access to all of the spa amenities every day as a guest here. There is a small gym next to the spa and a larger gym called the wellness center which is about Half a mile from the main area. Food issues The main issue here as many other of viewers have stated is the lack of decent food selection. Sea grapes is decent but only open until 5 PM. Paro gets terrible reviews and is excessively overpriced Mediterranean food. However, an Uber from the hotel to Rio Grande is not expensive around $10 and they are good restaurants, but you must do your own research. I recommend Los kioskos de luquillo Which have many food options and it is basically a beach party scene better for adult adults than kids. Service and butler service overall were spotty. We were given incorrect information multiple times. Don't forget to take a ton of cash to tip-wish they would include this in the final bill. Loved the ocean view, comfy beds, and spacious bathroom. Overall a nice stay and would consider coming back if the food options improved a bit!
