What we were going through was incredibly scary and overwhelming, but the doctors, nurses, PCAs, and entire PICU team made an experience that was so frightening feel a little easier for our family. I cannot fully express how grateful I am for Dr. Ali and his entire team. The compassion, professionalism, patience, and dedication they showed us meant more than words can say. They not only cared for my child medically, but they also gave us reassurance and comfort during one of the most difficult moments of our lives. And the nurses--WOW! I want to give a very special thank-you to Claire, Thalia, Mia, and Joan. Your kindness, compassion, and the way you cared for us will never be forgotten. You made us feel heard, supported, and safe when we needed it most. I also want to recognize the PCAs, including Ari and Ktis. It works by giving the surgeon a magnified, 3D high-definition view of the surgical site while they control robotic arms with instruments from a console." Dr Michael Pitter (RIP) was my Doctor who performed this masterful work. The nursing staff was simply divine with their TLC, compassion and professionalism kindness towards me. I was preparing to have my Mammogram and Ultrasound done. However, I was informed by my scheduler at Columbia Doctors that I needed my images from my last mammogram (2014) with Hackensack University Medical Center. Today, nothing has changed with the remarkable, caring, positive staffers, that give TLC as their standard. A professional body of heartwarming staff at Hackensack University Medical Center. I called and requested my images. They returned the call the next day, and my images and report were ready. I drove to NJ, got my ticket stamped for free parking from the Breast Cancer Screening Center. Dropped off my images to Columbia Doctors on West 51st Street in the heart of Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall (so cool). At the end of the movie, it was a joyous experience that made me feel truly gratefully happy and cared for by Hackensack University Medical Center and Columbia Doctors/NY Presbyterian Hospital. I simply called to verify that the order had been received before making the trip to the laboratory. Instead of receiving a straightforward answer, I was met with a patronizing response: "Listen, I know you work here, but..." Whether I work for the hospital or not is irrelevant. As a patient, I was calling with a legitimate question and expected to be treated with the same courtesy, professionalism, and respect afforded to every other patient. A simple confirmation of whether the order had been received would have been sufficient. I hope this feedback is taken constructively so that future interactions reflect the level of professionalism patients should expect from the laboratory staff. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

We got there around 9:30am and they took him right away even though we were early. They sent him to the main hospital to get a chest xray done. The instructions provided on where to go weren't very clear. When we got to the main hospital, they were very helpful with which elevators to take. They took him right away for his xray. His surgery day, everything went well. I went to visit him the following day and while we were walking down the hallway, my uncle was walking with his IV pole with a nurse. The nurse was scrambling trying to fix his IV. At one point, she clamped his IV to change out the tubing and the IV bag and did it incorrectly and blood was spilling all over the hallway. My uncle was also getting visibly tired from standing in the hallway while the nurse tried to clean up and asked to go back to his wrong. The nurse asked him to wait. After another 5 min, my otherwise patient uncle declared he was going back to his room. Nursing care at this hospital could definitely use some improvement. Bedside manners weren't great. And as a pharmacist, I e worked in hospitals for more than 20 years.

The only issue is the turnaround of doctors will make it hard to have a primary. So you'll have to try out whoever works here to see if you'll have a good report with them. I took her last Tuesday for a procedure, she followed up on Friday, and then again this morning. We are VERY happy with the care she has received. Her infection is clearing up, and she has received great follow up care. All of the information is also update to her MyChart account so her primary physicians can follow up on the procedure she had.
