I like to employ my lunch time doing 3 things: eating, working out, discovering. Sometimes these things go together, sometimes separate, like this time. I was checking 'what is in this area close to work that I don't know yet' and that is how I ended up at Hacker Dojo, even though I had passed several times in front of that unassuming building! This place is fantastic, i don't give 5 stars because the girl at the reception table was not friendly or helpful at all. My understanding is that they are volunteers and most people there are the introvert type, but I have been volunteering in numerous events, venues, etc, and a smile gives a great first impression, which she didn't. So my colleague and I filled the info in the ipads with no eye exchange of any kind and entered a world mix of start-uppers, makers of electronics, laser cut wonders, lost students, serial entrepreneurs and meetuppers too. From outside, you will never know what is this place about. For first visit, you enter free (we love that:), then if you want to spend a day there and try it out is $20 full use of tools, printers, space, etc. For what I heard from a very friendly member who showed us around, most of the people there become members for around $120 a month, and they can access anytime. That is their place, kind of a coop. I liked the concept, the signage made with laser cut wood, the graffiti in the walls giving a edgy look and also the retro video games. The place was unexpectedly (again, for the location) full, so it was a total surprise. This is also somehow a co-working scenario for the nerds. Unlimited coffee, that is what they say, so ready to go.

My favorite place to do homework. And you can stay past 10, just get IBtL, and donate a little extra.

Good for quiet working, but not worth the membership if you cannot reserve rooms for collaborative sessions.

You can tell that they are careful about what they decide to put out on the floor. The items were all in good condition and contemporary. Everything was priced to sell and I snagged some good deals on some pots for my plants. I was looking for a single teacup but they didn't have any on the floor. The staff were really friendly and they offered to check in the back for me. They even joined me in my hunt around the store. Lovely ladies. I will be returning.

The prices are beyond great if you love vintage clothing and know fabrics. I may have found my favorite dress of all time here for a whopping $14 (because it's a two piece set of decorative vintage fabric) it was in the premium section and the volunteers were adorable making sure I knew why it was priced this way. (I couldn't afford a yard of this fabric retail I'm giddy about a vintage two piece set that I can customize). To then discover that the proceeds go to support women's scholarships was the ultimate bonus! My grand total for everything was $54 and I happily gave my change to the donation bucket by the register. If you are in the area and love unique vintage items this is a must explore. I had to resist the urge to buy several of the tea cup collections. I'm a sucker for vintage tea sets and they have several that are stunning! Great shop, fantastic volunteers who are donating their time to support a wonderful cause.

Kind of like what was feared in Y2K, but really real -- "this date is invalid" it said for the new year entries -- Nightmare Land. Looking for an alternative program to migrate to I heard a lot about QuickBooks, but am rather 'old-school' and was trying to avoid putting our business accounting in the cloud and having a direct link from online bookkeeping to our checking account. As I had never used any other accounting program, and have no formal training, switching felt daunting. I found Prosper Bookkeeping on Yelp and reached out to Daniel Lin for a free consultation. He explained that I could use QBO without linking our checking account directly or utilizing AI features if I did not want to. So I decided to work with Daniel -- he patiently went through the steps to set up our books for the beginning of the year and coached me in bringing all entries for the year up to date. It was helpful for me to learn the new program UI through hands on instruction via Zoom, and then later review the videos Daniel provided of our training sessions. Daniel is a consummate professional - a non-judgmental and patient listener who is extremely knowledgeable and has a knack for quickly parsing through numbers. After using the program for a full quarter, I found that I had made several errors and could not reconcile our bank statements with QBO -- Daniel found the issues for me and fixed them in minutes. Like Magic! I'm very happy that I went with Daniel and Prosper Bookkeeping, FIVE stars!
