HORRIBLE!! My daughter simply turned her head and 6 braids fell out! Please read my review!
    Lori L.

DO NOT GO TO HADDY'S! Only went twice with my two daughters and we will never ever go back. The first experience should have told me everything I needed to know. She literally took ALL day to do these poor kids hair and kept sneaking other clients in between. I gave her another chance before school started. We made an appt. and again she took another client in and it took over 6 hours. My kids were starving! I paid her almost $400 and within hours of having done their hair the braids literally just kept falling out of their heads. You could actually see the net underneath! I just posted a picture showing 6 braids that fell out when my daughter simply turned her head! When I contacted her about the situation we made an appt. to have their hair fixed. We showed up on time. When we arrived she had another client in her chair. In walked another woman who refused to wait around to have her hair done. So because this was a "paying" client she took her ahead of my kids! Made them sit there and wait 2 hours! Then she tells me she can try to tighten their hair up but cannot fix it unless I buy more hair!!! I specifically had asked her if I should save the braids and when she didn't answer we discarded them. I finally got so angry I picked my kids up and left without getting their hair fixed at all! I told her I wanted a partial refund and this WOMAN wouldn't even reply. I went to another beauty shop and had their hair checked by a professional. She said the first problem was that she didn't do it right. Then she said I will have to buy 3 packages of hair to fix it! That's how much has fallen out! So now I have to pay this other place $50 to repair Haddy's shoddy work. I contacted her again and asked her to pay me back the $50. The thief couldn't even give me the courtesy of a response! If I had a dog to groom I wouldn't even go to her for that! STAY AWAY! I only gave her one star because I had to!

You walk into the student bathroom and people are in tears about how horrible it is. And how they waisted 24 THOUSAND dollars. They can't keep staff because they treat them like absolute garbage. Admin is nothing but rude and do not care about anyone. You learn how to do nails on a paper. They stopped doing all services other than hair. No nails, waxing or pedicures. On top of it all, my parents made a check to them and it bounced! I will say they fixed the problem within 48 hours but the problem should not have occurred. They bash other cosmetic schools because "they teach more" no they do not. Go somewhere cheaper and kinder to students and staff

Do not go here for coloring. Seriously. They absolutely fried my hair. I am really devastated…read more I went in with healthy, unprocessed/undyed medium brown hair. Wanted to get it dyed a golden blonde. There was a lot that went wrong with my appointment but I'll start with this: They left the lightener in my hair for THREE AND HALF HOURS. My hair is absolutely destroyed - it feels brittle and coarse, and now my hair has lost all its natural volume and waves. But let's detail the other things: 1) This whole process took 7 hours for someone to overbleach my whole head of hair and cut it. 2) After bleaching my hair, the stylist added a golden blonde toner - this is confusing because typically after bleaching you want to use a blue or purple based toner to counteract the yellow/orange that typically remains after bleaching. So then my hair was Bart Simpson yellow, while the stylist was all "wow! what do you think?" And I had to say "uh, this is really yellow." Then she admitted that she was really nervous and didn't want to say how yellow it was to me and didn't know how to fix it. The instructor fixed it with a neutralizing toner. Still looks more yellow than is natural, but I don't look like a cartoon. 3) Despite me saying that my hair is fine and dry, I was shampoo-ed twice and then blow-dried with pretty much no moisture added or any heat protectant used. After being blow-dried my hair looked stick-straight and frizzy out of control. That was the point I wanted to cry, because I had pretty healthy, full hair before this whole process, and it had never looked so damaged. 4) I've gotten my hair cut here twice, including this time, both times asked for layers, and both times had the stylist panic about doing layers. I don't know what is going on there. 5) Also, I originally had made an appointment for during the week, but when I showed up they said they had to reschedule because they weren't informed that I wanted to get lighter hair, despite me telling the desk when I made the appointment. I'm never going back, this was honestly really devastating and I was really looking forward to having nice blonde hair. I realize they're students but I can't believe I paid over $60 and spent 7 hours on a Saturday having someone destroy my hair that I'm now going to have to pay a professional salon to fix.

I pulled into one of their clearly labeled spots because the person I was with literally went inside to ask about prices -you know, like a potential customer. Not even two minutes later, this girl (pictured below) struts out and says, "Hello, do you mind moving? My client is behind you!" I politely said, "No problem, the person I'm with is inside asking questions." She says "thank you" and then, without skipping a beat, walks right in front of my car and takes a picture of my license plate. When I asked, "Why are you taking a picture of my car?" she actually said, "I'm sending it in so you can get a ticket." Be for real. You're mad at me for waiting in a parking space for someone who's literally inside your salon asking about your prices? I've never seen customer service this petty. Like, girl, maybe focus on your clients' hair instead of trying to get strangers ticketed. The energy was so unprofessional, so unnecessary, and honestly just plain mean. If this is how they treat people who show genuine interest in their business, I can only imagine what it's like once they actually have your money. So yeah ... if you're thinking about coming here, think twice unless you're into bad vibes, bad attitudes, and bonus parking tickets. Because Moisture Salon? They don't do "moisture" they do messy!!!

During the pandemic I skipped using heat tools a few times and was like: wait, is my hair curly? It sure is. But every time I get it cut and then let it go natural, the layers are wonky and it gets super frizzy. Decided it was time to get a curly cut and wanted a place that specialized. Enter Moisture Salon. I showed up for my appointment with about a minute to spare (there was a road closure and I don't think I've ever been to Schenectady before so that was fun), parked in a lot a few blocks away and walked over. The signage is clear and cute. Greeted by two friendly doggos, Jenny and Chichi. Brooke introduced herself and took me back where she looked at my hair and asked tons of questions. First, she cut my hair dry and talked to me about some of my concerns and we discussed my constant state of "am I or am I not growing in my gray." I think I am. When she washed my hair she really showed me how much buildup there was and then used a shampoo made for people with hard water before feeling the difference again. Yikes! She had me bed over and watch how she applied products into my hair and all the different amounts and processes. It was so helpful. She also taught me a trick for getting my curls to be a little more bouncy at the top of my head, where they are often kind of stretched out. At the end, I had far more definition and bounce and was handed a microfiber towel, clips and a helpful card to help me get used to how to take care of my hair. It's two days later and it still looks great. Looking forward to a 4-month check in to see if it's more moisturized. Brooke and Ron are great and I've definitely found the right place for me! Thanks, Moisture Salon!
