Killer bowling shoes!
Michelle Q.

Super friendly people, great beer, and clean bowling fun! Went while visiting Maine on a rainy night and were welcomed right in. Manual score keeping so when your competitor isn't looking... ;) Needless to say I won!

This is my first time candlepin bowling ever and this is right down the street from my house. Will definitely be coming back to do this more often hopefully this place doesn't close down.

Love the feeling of going back in time. Old school candlepin bowl. Affordable price. Very clean. Super helpful and friendly staff. Can't wait to make many memories over the years with the family.

It's exactly what you need on a Friday night. It's laid back and easy to go and have a good time. Bar, food, bowling. No complaints.

Fun little place to go. We had never been candlepin bowling before and we enjoyed it and like giving our money to local businesses.

Apparently, the history of candlepin bowling can only be traced to the northern states of the US and Canada.

I used to really like this place. It has a great selection of game, however the prices have gone up…read moreso much I can't really recommend it. It used to be really affordable, 20 bucks used to get so many points I couldn't use them all. But now the majority of machines cost over 10 points to use. The chicken tenders are SO good for no reason I swear they put crack in it. The staff are always friendly which is a plus. Games are crammed into this space and it's sensory hell for some people. It's so loud you have to yell for your friends to hear you.

My family and I have been several times and have generally enjoyed our time. It's very, very loud…read more There are a variety of games my kids both really enjoy, the concessions are pretty good, and the prizes are... well, they're prizes. Haven't tried the billiards or bowling yet. However, today I had a very poor customer service experience in the prize area. My partner got a pillow/plush item and the cashier failed to end that transaction before starting to scan my items - the first of which he could not identify and didn't seem to know how to look it up in the computer or the binder. After realizing his mistake, he insisted I needed to get my partner's card before he could fix it. What if the previous customer had been a stranger? Several minutes later, he finally sought a manager and the issue was eventually resolved. All of this would have just been simply frustrating and I wouldn't have gone on the company website to complain and wouldn't have jumped on yelp to update my review here. However, the cashier also misgendered myself and my partner more than a dozen times directly to my face and in conversation with his manager and a third employee, all in front of multiple customers. Abhorrent behavior. Tainted my experience today at Round One and has me thinking twice about returning in the future.

I want to give a huge thank you to Luis at Spare Time for making our day so much better. Three of…read moreus had spent a long time playing games, earning tickets, and working hard to save up for a prize we all wanted. When it came time to redeem our tickets, we spent nearly 30 minutes talking and trying to figure out the best way to use them. We wanted to make sure everyone agreed on what to get, and eventually we decided that the giant beach ball would be the perfect prize for all of us to share. At first, we were told that we couldn't get the beach ball because it was supposed to be won through a specific game or method. We completely understood the rules, but after spending so much time earning tickets and carefully deciding together, it was disappointing to think we wouldn't be able to get the one thing we all agreed on. That's when Luis stepped in. Instead of just saying no and moving on, he took the time to listen to us and understand the situation. He saw how much effort we had put into earning our tickets and how long we had spent making our decision. Luis showed kindness, understanding, and genuine care for making sure we had a great experience. He talked with the other employee and helped make it possible for us to redeem our tickets for the giant beach ball. What might have seemed like a small thing to some people meant a lot to us. Luis turned what could have been a disappointing ending into a really memorable and positive experience. He treated us with respect, listened to what we had to say, and went above and beyond to help us. Employees like Luis are the reason people want to come back. His customer service, patience, and willingness to help made our visit special, and we are incredibly grateful. Thank you, Luis, for making our day and showing what great customer service really looks like!

The arcade is a hit for the kids (and adults), even if it's on the pricier side. We did have a lane glitch, but the staff got us moved over quickly. Personally, I prefer paying by the string instead of by the hour, but it's a great place overall and we'll definitely be back to try more of the food and check out their daily specials!

If yes,…read moreSmitty's GameLAB is a great establishment that is loaded with arcade games -- lots & lots of them. Yep, whack-a-mole is on-site -- plus, that game where you sit on a small, stationary motorcycle & do things like lean & turn on it, etc. You know the one...yep, it's on-site too. VROOOM!!! Skee-Ball + the claw machine will leave you wanting more & more tries! GameLAB is connected to Smitty's legendary dine-in movie theater -- where you can feast on an entire chicken dinner while watching one of today's top flicks. The atmosphere at GameLAB is electric & loud (like, very loud -- so fyi, if you hate noise). Flashing lights, kids running amuck & the sound of laughter will surround your being. GameLAB has bowling! A restaurant! A big ole bar! And prizes! We ordered wings & beer & a buffalo chicken wrap w/ fries -- all of which were comforting & executed to dining satisfaction. I ate all of my fries. Oops, burp. I didn't try a slice, but their pizza looked amazing too -- the pie had favorable elements on it like cheese & a crust. Iconic. Waitstaff was friendly. I liked them. They were juggling a lot but checked in with us frequently. That was kind.
