What a hidden gem! Two BIG wins for this simply awesome driving range: 1) who doesn't want to hit golf balls into the water while aiming at old boats and buoys? 2) tailgate style parking makes it easy to get your clubs in and out plus you can pack some snacks! Even on a warm spring day it wasn't crowded. Make sure to bring $1s and $5s for the ball machine as there isn't any staff. If you forget, you can always run across the street to Al's to grab a snack and some lower bills. Simple pleasures in life folks. Not much else to it! I hope you'll enjoy this spot as much as I did.

Really enjoyed our round and recommend it. $62 a round + $24 for a cart, $86. There is no driving range however there's a putting practice green.

The attendant asked if we were beginners, "was this your first time playing golf?" I was so surprised by this and said no, but it is my first time at this course. There was one person in our group who was newer to the sport and said she was a beginner. Then he announced to everyone "Sorry for the cart delay, they had a beginner." This experience put a blunt end to an otherwise great day of golf. We played at a good speed today. Partway through the front nine our twosome was asked to play with the twosome in front of us since we were waiting on them. Once we were grouped up we increased speed of play and maintained it. I think the course should look at their tee times and find our why they are short on carts. There was not a queue of groups waiting on us. Do not come here if you are looking for a fun experience, you will be met with employees with awful attitudes. And under no circumstances come here as a beginner because they do not think highly of them. Other places in the area, like Nonesuch, are much better equipped with emotional intelligence. If you do not care about being treated with respect, you might enjoy Willowdale because the holes were fun overall.

I have found that the new club 'pro' they hired last year is not really a very good host for the course. On Wednesday May 23, 2018 he proved that to our foursome. We were on the 16th hole, and four hours into our round that was delayed when we made the turn from 18 to the first hole. Manager had two groups on the first tee causing a 20 minute delay in continuing our round. What was most upsetting was this 'pro' driving out to tell two men in our group who are both in their late 60's that they must return the golf cart immediately. No lie folks, he wanted them to forfeit their last two holes and drive in. In my near fifty years of playing golf all around the states of Maine and New Hampshire, I have never had this type of encounter. Gorham Country Club is a nice course being poorly managed by this club pro, Matt. We will not return until we hear that the club is under new management. To ask the two gents with me to surrender cart was just a low class move. He must have had a hot date. The sun was still up when this all occurred.
