We love Westport for all the right reasons -- candle pin classic New England style bowling. No frills. Clean place, really sweet people who work here. We're always greeted kindly and leave happy.

Still 1968 in this bowling alley. Affordable fun. The jukebox is way too expensive though. Their staff is always kind.

It used to be really affordable, 20 bucks used to get so many points I couldn't use them all. But now the majority of machines cost over 10 points to use. The chicken tenders are SO good for no reason I swear they put crack in it. The staff are always friendly which is a plus. Games are crammed into this space and it's sensory hell for some people. It's so loud you have to yell for your friends to hear you.

For 57 dollars, we played for maybe 20-25 minutes and then went to the shop for some candy. We had managed to get only 170 tickets because we mostly played racing games that don't earn tickets, but he saw a Ring Pop for 160, so I thought, "Perfect, grab that." We got to the counter for the person to tell us that the label was wrong and it was actually 185 tickets. So I was like, "Cool, but the label says it's 160 with Ring Pop candies under it in writing, so..." He said, "The best I can do is change the label, but I can't compromise on 15 tickets." I was pissed. He got some smaller candies and thanked the man. This place can go out of business for all I care; it's an overpriced arcade, at best. Terrible experience this time around, won't be back.

As recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records, Funspot is the LARGEST arcade in the world. Originally opened as the Weirs Sports Center, then 21-year-old Lawton opened it as an indoor miniature golf course and penny arcade with $750 borrowed from his grandmother. It was originally located in the top floor of Tarlson's Arcade building across from the Weirs Beach boardwalk. In 1964, Lawton purchased 21 acres of land nearby and relocated his business there. At this time, it was renamed "Funspot". By the 1980s, arcade cabinets and pinball machines had become the most popular attractions at Funspot. The business soon switched from quarters to tokens. Lawton continued to expand the business and even opened six satellite locations, but they all closed down by the late 1990s. Funspot was heavily featured in the 2007 film "The King of Kong": a universally-acclaimed documentary about competitive arcade gaming. Today Funspot has over 600 video games (both retro and modern), pinball machines, ticket redemption machines, an indoor miniature golf course, 20-lane ten-pin and candlepin bowling, cash bingo, a restaurant, a tavern, an ice cream stand, kiddie rides and several other attractions on its grounds. It is also home to the American Classic Arcade Museum. My extended family and I visited Funspot this past summer while we were spending the week in Maine. On one day in particular, it was a little too rainy to go to the beach. Funspot was just an hour drive from where we were staying, so we made the trip and arrived in time for the opening. I have wanted to visit Funspot ever since I saw the film "The King of Kong"; it had been on my bucket list for a while. This place is HUGE; they have so many classic arcade cabinets and pinball machines from the golden age of arcade games (roughly late 1970s to early 1980s). "Donkey Kong", "Pac-Man", "Galaga", "Frogger", you name it and they had it. My wife and I had so much fun taking turns on all of the various arcade cabinets and pinball machines. I especially enjoyed playing "JAWS" pinball in a shark cage of all places. Our two sons especially enjoyed all of the various driving games as well as all of the vintage kiddie rides. My family also enjoyed a few rounds of skee-ball and air hockey. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun; I never wanted to leave. If you are a fan of classic arcades then you simply must make the pilgrimage to Funspot!

This place is known as the biggest arcade in the country and as a retro game collector and someone who loves pissing loads of money away to win tickets to buy literal garbage, this place was right up my freaking ally. When I first walked in I was surrounded by a bowling ally, pinball machines, and a ton of ticket games that I wanted to start working on right away, however, I used some restraint. Next! I checked downstairs and stumbled across the prize center and a bunch of other random ticket games, but the real gold was found on the upper level. When you go upstairs you are greeted by hundreds of retro arcade machines from the 70s on and I was in my own form of heaven. I checked out a bunch of the obscure machines and sucked at most of them, before coming across the likes of X-Men, Mortal Kombat 2, Centipede, and hundreds more. I wanted to stick to retro games but after seeing my nephew on the ticket hunt, I joined in and won myself about 1300 tickets before tapping out and just giving them to him. What I didn't know is that he thought it would be funny to spend 4500 tickets to give me a Bluey bag that Funspot definitely ordered off Temu or something because it's quite possibly the worst quality item i've ever seen at an arcade, kudos to my nephew though for being awesome. Overall, Funspot is a, well, a fun spot to go for a bit. We spent maybe an hour and a half messing around and playing games and I definitely enjoyed myself. The insane amount of machines was great, the vibes were retro arcade, and the fun was endless. My main complaint with this place is the absolute trash prizes they have. Come on guys, give people a reason to actually spend money.
