In one case, I had to reschedule before I was over 15 minutes late even though I had called to let them know. Was able to reschedule and got in the same day. I've been a patient since sometime this summer. My wife found this practice and moved over sometime around the first of the year. Reason she moved is that we are both Seniors and have Medicare Advantage Plans with Dental Benefits. For some reason, we could never get them to bill our Insurance Company. Granted the coverage was not that much but a couple of thousand is a couple of thousand that does not come out of my pocket. Her Dentist is Dr. Allison Kelleher and she loves her and the great service she gets. I have Dr. Andy Pernell and he was the founder of this Service. When I came over, I already knew that I had some major issues related to resorption of tissue under the gums. On the initial examination, Dr. Pernell also that I had a cavity under a bridge under my upper molars. Made an appointment and came back and the bridge was removed, the cavity was filled, and a temporary bridge installed. Went back last week and got the permanent bridge installed. This was the first cavity I've had in over 10 years. I have an appointment in January to address the resorbtion issues on the lower molars. That said he referred me to Dr. Getz at North State Perio and he has examined me and we are schedules for planning and deep cleaning in December.

This is such a stark difference from the dentist I saw in Maryland. I had never had real dental work done before and at my prior dentist they identified I needed a crown. It was such a traumatizing experience that I was terrified when Summit advised I needed another one done. I also was given a plastic mold at the prior dentist that I had to put in hot water and try to fit myself - It never worked and it made me gag so I just stopped using it. Such a drastic difference between these offices- thank you Summit. My dentist fears are now gone.

The surgeon said he would be a great provider for our more complex then run of the mill dental care needed. Dr. Kye has been a wonderful provider and we will continue to use him. He is very knowledgable on any dental questions or care we have. He also screens for a couple of cancers which I had never had a dentist do before. I like that he is so proactive. It brings peace and calm to know he is looking out for his patients care in a more comprehensive way then any other dentist I have used. Stephanie is a delight and so communicative. She is prompt and on point. She books the next appointment before you leave. She knows how long non standard services require or will check if a couple of items to ensure smooth scheduling. Any time I have insurance questions or need receipts she takes care and pops them over to me in the best format for me. I prefer digital but they are happy to do printed too. I like the big windows in the rooms because there are adorable squirrels that play and run around. It is fun to watch. My favorite part is that Dr. Kye and his wife Jennifer who works at the practice too are massive dog people! We catch up on each other's rescue pups and trade local references of places for dog needs. They recommended us to our current groomer and a pet store we love. I find the dog stories adorable and make dental work that much brighter and more enjoyable. We are very happy with the care we receive and so happy we found them 4 years ago! He then explained that my bottom teeth were the perfect size and I had ground nubs for so long I had no idea what a tooth should look like) Since I was not going to stop grinding, Dr. Current was tasked with putting teeth in my mouth that (1) did not come out of my mouth and put in a glass every night. Yes, I cannot tell you how many times I have spit my teeth into my hands. I acknowledge that I was not always the most pleasant human being to work with and I was stubborn about what I wanted. I learned the difference between "want" and "need". Dr. Current did not want me to need him as much as I would have had I not listened to him. He also refused to do that which would not work just because I said so. He won and I have teeth that do not fall out; are the right size and work. I can actually chew. I had just gotten them all in and went on a cruise. First meal I picked up the crustiest bread you ever saw and found that I was afraid to bite into it. I texted Dr. Current and told him about my fear that they would break. He laughed and said "Please take them out for a spin. Chew! I did and have been chewing every since. I could write for days about this journey. I would post a picture so you could see my teeth but the reality is I do not know how to smile with my teeth showing. I was always self conscious about them. When I try to smile to show off my teeth, I look a tad deranged and possibly feral.
