My orthodontist as a teen had filed my central incisors, something I'd never been completely happy with. As someone who works in digital marketing for aesthetic practices, including cosmetic dentistry, I'm familiar with veneers and smile makeovers, but I wasn't looking for or able to invest in a full-mouth transformation. I simply wanted to feel confident again when I smiled. After several consultations with cosmetic dentists in Charlotte, I chose Dr. Wilson because his before-and-after gallery truly stood out, and his virtual consultation felt refreshingly honest. Some other dentists had recommended Invisalign followed by veneers or a full set of veneers, but Dr. Wilson listened carefully, offered thoughtful options, and never made me feel pressured. We decided on two porcelain veneers for my central incisors. My case wasn't an easy one, as Dr. Wilson had to precisely match the color and translucency of the veneers to the rest of my natural teeth, which is much more challenging than placing 20 veneers made at the same lab. He absolutely knocked it out of the park. The veneers are a perfect match, and my smile looks completely natural and beautifully balanced. Dr. Wilson was intelligent, approachable, and genuinely down to earth, qualities that instantly put me at ease. Originally it was not a big deal to drive over there but the last two times I went, it took over an hour to go 8.1 miles due to traffic. In one case, I had to reschedule before I was over 15 minutes late even though I had called to let them know. Was able to reschedule and got in the same day. I've been a patient since sometime this summer. My wife found this practice and moved over sometime around the first of the year. Reason she moved is that we are both Seniors and have Medicare Advantage Plans with Dental Benefits. For some reason, we could never get them to bill our Insurance Company. Granted the coverage was not that much but a couple of thousand is a couple of thousand that does not come out of my pocket. Her Dentist is Dr. Allison Kelleher and she loves her and the great service she gets. I have Dr. Andy Pernell and he was the founder of this Service. When I came over, I already knew that I had some major issues related to resorption of tissue under the gums. On the initial examination, Dr. Pernell also that I had a cavity under a bridge under my upper molars. Made an appointment and came back and the bridge was removed, the cavity was filled, and a temporary bridge installed. Went back last week and got the permanent bridge installed. This was the first cavity I've had in over 10 years. I have an appointment in January to address the resorbtion issues on the lower molars. That said he referred me to Dr. Getz at North State Perio and he has examined me and we are schedules for planning and deep cleaning in December.

This is such a stark difference from the dentist I saw in Maryland. I had never had real dental work done before and at my prior dentist they identified I needed a crown. It was such a traumatizing experience that I was terrified when Summit advised I needed another one done. I also was given a plastic mold at the prior dentist that I had to put in hot water and try to fit myself - It never worked and it made me gag so I just stopped using it. Such a drastic difference between these offices- thank you Summit. My dentist fears are now gone.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Plaza Midwood Dentistry and Dr. Hart, hygienists/techs like Weslynn, as well as their front office. I came in looking like a gremlin honestly, my teeth were in terrible shape. They worked out a plan to focus on the cavities first, then crowns and implants, but I wasn't expecting the huge difference, even with the temporary cosmetic stuff they did (I'm not a dentist so I don't know the right name for it). After my last appointment, I cried when I looked in the mirror and asked for a hug. Went home and cried some more because I was so happy. Sent pictures to my best friends and family. People who see me and know me comment on my smile all the time. They are some of the most caring and understanding people in the business. I've been to many dentists and oral surgeons after my childhood dentist retired. These folks are by far my favorite. We still have a ways to go to get all the work done, but I will always be so appreciative of how hard they work and how well they do it. My wife also had work done a few months back and had a few crowns fitted. At that time she complained about tooth ache on a crowned tooth which the dentist stated would disappear after a while. Needless to say, she had to return and they had to perfom a root canal under the crowned tooth; double the time and definitley more expensive.
