Those working at the front office are always courteous and over time they even remembered me and I was always greeted with a "Good Morning Beautiful". When I was on time for my appointments I never waited more than 5 minutes. However, if you are late expect to wait a bit as they will see the people who were on time first, which is completely understandable. It's not their fault I was late. Azar, the Nurse Practitioner is a complete sweetheart. She does everything so that you are as comfortable as possible and will even call you on her off hours to follow up and make sure you are ok. And I couldn't have asked for a better experience than I had with Dr. Nelson. I unfortunately had to have surgery, but was I fortunate that she was my doctor. She walked me through every option, and explained every detail to me. On the day of the surgery she took the time to come in early and spoke to both my parents to put them at ease. Even though there were small complications, everything went smoothly with minimal scarring. The next morning she was in my room at 8 am checking to see how I was doing, explaining to me everything that took place, and ensuring I knew how to take care of myself once I got home. This was the first time I had ever had a serious health issue and I am so happy that it was the team at Scripps and Dr. Nelson that took care of me.

It was not an easy one but despite all my worries, fears and challenges, she was able to get through my terrible all-day sickness and other obstacles my pregnancy brought, which were many. They were too big so anything natural wouldn't make a very big difference so I really wanted to have them surgically removed. The first 2 surgeons both told me that during surgery there would be a 15% chance that they would need to do an emergency hysterectomy and I really didn't want that. I finally found Dr. Parker through a recommendation from my new functional medicine doctors, who said that he had helped another patient of hers with a similar problem. Since I don't live near Dr. Parker's office, I was able to do my initial consultation online. He thoroughly explained my MRI images and all of my options and the pros and cons of each. I felt very comfortable making the decision to have the fibroids laparoscopically removed, and was actually excited to have it done, not scared at all. Dr. Parker clearly has a lot of experience and knowledge. The day before the laparoscopic procedure I was examined by Dr. Parker and he explained what would happen the next day and what to do in recovery. I was able to ask all the questions that I had and he even showed me a video of the procedure so I could see exactly how it works. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Parker and all of the other doctors and assistants took very good care of me, even though it took longer than expected as I had so many fibroids! I went home the same day and recovered quickly. I took 2 weeks off from work, but was able to walk around and do things pretty normally. Two months from the surgery I had another online check-up with Dr. Parker and was happy to report that I was not only completely recovered but feeling better than ever. Now it's been five months and I can hardly see the scars and I'm still feeling great! I'm so happy and forever grateful that after not being satisfied with the first two surgeons' solution, I sought out a third opinion and found Dr. Parker. He truly is a one-of-a-kind doctor, professional, knowledgeable, kind, and talented.
