My first impression when entering the office was not good. The receptionist looked like he just rolled out of bed and not at all like a professional in a doctors office. The sub par trend continued when I met Dr Allen. He seamed uninterested and mostly annoyed that he was talking with me. After asking only a few questions he ordered a blood and urine test, which I did. I was told I would hear back from them with the results in 3-5 days. After 7 days and not hearing from them I called them only to get a voice mail box to leave a message. The next day I get a call back to say they used the wrong form to send the test in and they have to redo it can I come back. I was there in 2 hours to see the same sloppy guy behind the counter. I was told to go pee in a cup again. This time when I put the cup back in receptacle, there was another patients full cup still in there waiting to be received. GROSS. Once again a week and half later I have not heard from them. I called and was forced to leave a message again, two days has gone by and I still have not heard back from them. I am unimpressed, and have no confidence in the doctor or his staff. I will not be going back nor will I recommend them to anyone else. read more

Have now visited this doctors office twice and all the visits have been friendly and helpful. My visits where for general check ups and all the information was explained in a professional manner. As far as scheduling appointments, I was able to get in within one week and a follow up appointment within two. read more

My visit was at convenient location. No personal conversation of how i'm doing. Didnt read my weight or blood pressure but I looked over at machines. Dr used hand sanitizer and didnt force me to shake hands. Provides no eye contact working so hard on ipad computing information (this was a problem for someone that is hard of hearing and uses lip reading and facial expressions combined with speach for language understanding.) I left with prescription not filled, I had to call later tell front office what i needed. Pushing colonoscopies and breast xrays but, not pushing shots. (All three Common practice for inssurance reasons) I came for referals which I got. I did not come there about my hearing in any way but, thats the first thing they asked me was how I lost my hearing because they see I wear hearing aids. I'll probably go back because its close by. I wanted to finally leave a review for Dr. Fassett, especially since most of his patients probably do not use Yelp so it looks like he doesn't have good reviews. I've been going to Dr. Fassett for 2 years now. I do not have issues reaching his office at any time, as long as it's during normal business hours. If it isn't they do have a company that handles their off hour calls. Dr. Fassett is very kind and goes over anything you are concerned with. He offers suggestions and listens to your concerns. His staff has always been kind when I've called and I've even been able to call and ask for samples of medications if I was running low and couldn't afford to buy refills. The nurses are just OK, not overly friendly anytime I've been there but my review is on Dr. Fassett. I've recommended him to others and appreciate his genuine care for his patients. read more

I used to really like this doctor's office, but I am extremely disappointed by my most recent experience, to the point that I've lodged formal complaints with both my insurance and with Sharp Community. I was on an anti-anxiety medication over the summer which is known for a side effect of weight gain, and unfortunately, I gained about 10-12 pounds, though I'm still within a normal/healthy range. Regardless, because of this, I decided to come off of it, and have been off of it for about 6 weeks now. I went to my doctor, Richard Fasset, M.D., on October 4 for an unrelated issue, but brought up the issue with the weight and asked how long the side effect may last and when I might see my weight start going in the right direction again. Anyone who knows me at all knows I eat healthy, lost a ton of weight in the past two years, and that I don't drink alcohol or eat sugar, that I avoid gluten, etc. But the doctor didn't even ask me about my exercise and eating habits and instead our conversation went like this: Dr.: "You've been off the medication 5 weeks? Side effects don't last that long, so clearly you're eating too much." Me: "No... I eat healthy for the most part..." Dr.: "Well obviously not. You shouldn't be eating so much. You shouldn't be eating more than 1,100 calories a day. You ever hear of POWs?" Me: (shocked, confused silence) Dr.: "You know, Prisoners of War? Why do you think they're so thin? They don't eat. So if you want to lose weight, you need to not eat so much. POWs can't eat, and they get thin. Same thing. You need to be eating way less. It's a matter of calories in, calories out." Me: "I don't think..." Dr.: "Or I could just put you on Medifast. But you have to do something you don't like. You can't just eat like crap and expect to lose weight." Me: (ignoring the argument that I actually eat healthy) "Well, could it be my hormones? My thyroid or a hormonal change from the medication?" Dr.: (awkwardly) "Well, I wouldn't know about that and hormones and such. You'd need to talk to your gynecologist about... girl problems like that." Yes, because I forgot that hormones are a GIRL'S ONLY problem. Men don't have hormones. Also, is anorexia the only option, or would bulimia work, too? No matter your size or your gender, being told to take example from prisoners of war is an inappropriate and disgusting thing to hear. I am switching doctors and am very disappointed with the medical "advice" I received. As a side note -- my gynecologist went ahead and ordered a thyroid blood test, and I have hypothyroidism -- a common condition caused by a hormone, a deficiency of which causes weight gain. read more

Nice knowledgable guy. Friendly staff. Short wait, accepts patients with no insurance. Charged me $100 for a bandaid. Completely ignored all other mentioned pain in wrists, jaw, and hips. Later directed me to a more appropriate place to do what his receptionist said this doctor would be happy to do, which was properly clean my infected wounds and check up the areas of constant pain. Honestly, I would not recommend, even after someone recommended me. Although, I do appreciate the discount... which was probably applied out of pity. read more

I'm shocked that this office has bad reviews at all! I'd like I explain why my experience here has been so great. I've been seeing Dr. Fassett for approximately 2 1/2 years now and he was randomly assigned to me by my insurance. No, I did not get a great first impression of the office because it is small and run down, but I'm also used to going to a large modern hospital for my PCP appointments. However, that didn't bother me for long because they can always get you in! I was so used to waiting at least 7 days and now I think the worst it's ever been was an appointment the next day in the evening; a breath of fresh air! Service wise, I have never seen Dr. Allen but my x-ray tech that I saw last month is a patient of his and had great things to say about him. Dr. Fassett has been extremely helpful to me. I went through a terrible time with my health and he didn't hesitate to help me with the referrals that I needed and tried to help me manage my pain in a healthy way. In other words, I trust him. He may be a little straight forward but he knows what he's doing. Lastly, I noticed there were some comments about the office staff. They may not be as peppy as people want them to be but they remembered my name after my first few visits and when I leave a message for the doctor it is always returned promptly. The only negative experience I've had with them is that I paid cash for my last copayment and stupid me, didn't ask for a receipt so they must have not recorded it and sent me a bill in the mail. I have yet to call and sort that out. Other than that I haven't had any issues there. I think people may walk in and judge the space too quickly which is what I did too until I got really sick and I realized this staff actually cared about me. Family friendly and they do their best to fit you in when you need to see the Dr. Dr. Fassett is so professional and treats you so kindly. Our family has been seeing him going for nearly 20 years and he always inquires about the family. There just aren't that many true "family" practitioners and clinics that give this kind of service. PLEASE READ: This office NO LONGER DRAWS BLOOD for labs at their location. I just paid $50 for a "how do you do", a blood pressure read, temp check and a referral. They really should inform people over the phone when making an appointment, this was a complete waste of my time and money. Please understand that Dr. Fassett is a wonderful doctor, he explained to me that clients were complaining for the extra $10 charge to draw blood so they stopped doing so. That being said, it is inexcusable to be asked over the phone what you are seeing the doctor for, to tell them "for a blood test only", and then to be told to come in without mentioning that they no longer draw blood. I have been with this doctor for years, I would have hoped they would have had enough respect for me, and all those years, to at least offer my money back. Unfortunately, for that reason, I will never return. read more

I really don't like this dr.s office! I've given them numerous tries and they fail me every time. Where do I begin? I first went to see dr. Allen and he didn't take time with me at all to listen to what I had to say, he was in there for maybe a minute. I felt very rushed. I decided to give it another chance but with dr. Fassett instead. He seemed nice and took time to listen to me at first. We wanted to rule out any possible problems with blood work, etc. like everyone states on here, I had to keep calling for my results, left messages, no one returns calls, and they take an hour and a half lunch break, so don't even attempt to call at 11:50am. After 2 weeks, I finally got the test results only because I called and finally got a hold of someone. Now back to dr. Fassett, I told him about my back spasms the first time I saw him and he chalked it up to being just stress related, I told him I did have anxiety problems so he perscribes me the lowest dosage of Xanax. When I come back, at this point I'm all of a sudden getting horrible migraines, he refers me to a neurologist. I explain that I'm still having horrible pains in my back, and I've tried physical therapy, icing my shoulder and neck, taking ib profen and Xanax like he suggested, and explained it didn't seem to lower my pain level. Then he talks to me like I'm just some druggie, asks me the question, well what do you want me to perscribe you? I dono, your the doctor! I told him that I've been prescribed Vicodin in the past and tramidol in the past, Vicodin made me itchy, yet worked, and tramidol cut the edge off. Then he asks well which do you want? Vicodin or tramidol? I said tramidol since I kinda wanna stay away from narcotics. He writes a dosage for tramidol that doesn't even exist, 25mg, lowest is 50mg. I had to jump through hoops with pharmacy, then calling them from pharmacy, but they were on lunch, so I had to drive back to their office, and explain this to the nurse, she gets the doc and says that they only have 50 mg, he looks at her like she's an idiot, and says well yeah! Last time I went in: I had a horrible migraine, they are walking distance to me, I hoped that they would give me a shot instead of going to the emergency room, the nurse told me they already referred me out and it's out of their hands, nothing further they can do. Are you kidding me? I already made an appointment for the neurologist but couldn't get in for another 2 weeks so I was suffering with migraines every day, even explaining this to them they blew me off like they didn't care. Had to go to e.r. That day. One gold star for receptionist Jennifer, that will be the only star this place deserves. I really hope they clean house, get rid of everyone except the receptionist! read more

It's more like a part time office. They seem to open and close whenever it suits them. They rarely return phone calls. Yesterday I was told I had an appointment at 4:30. When I arrived the door was locked so I knocked and called and got the answering service which told me they were closed. I knocked louder but still nobody came to the door. I called today and they said my appointment was at 4:15 and they were still there at 4:30 but they were closed. There is no way they couldn't hear me knock. The Dr. himself is OK but I think this is the second time they got my appointment wrong and were closed when I arrived. I also had and "emergency" situation when I had to go to my nieces wedding in the Midwest for Memorial Day weekend a year ago. I forgot my medication so I called and left a message, picked out a CVS pharmacy that I would be near and never received a call back. I couldn't get a hold of anyone so I left several messages. I had a rough weekend without the medication and when I got back home they called me on Tuesday morning asking if I needed my medication still. Way past when I really needed it. There are other issues that I could go into but the bottom line is that it is run like a part time business with no set hours. The only reason I still go here is because it is very close to home the the Dr. himself is pleasant enough. The only reason i gave 2 stars instead of one is because it's more the way the place is run than the Dr's. expertise that is ridiculous. I have seen both doctors in this office. They are both really nice great bedside. I moved from Arizona and was worried about finding a new PCP was as great as my last. This group is really great and the doctors always listen. Refilling my prescriptions is so easy and stress free! Just found out we are being relocated to GA and I will most definitely miss this office. read more

I've been going to Dr. Fassett for over 20 years. He's a great doctor and takes the time to understand any ailment you may have. I'm a worst case scenario person, and every time he diagnoses my issues, I have a hesitancy to believe it's something as minor as he says, but he's always right. And that's what's most important, right? He also leans on the side of safety and recommends further tests when necessary. Plus, he never makes me feel silly for my assumed problems. He's extremely knowledgeable and very experienced, and I always leave feeling reassured. Like any doctor, he's busy, but I've never felt like my time with him has been rushed. I have seen Dr. Fassett for over 20 years. During that period of time I have encountered many different physicians for various problems and Dr. Fassett stands out as one of the best. He is direct and tells it like it is which may alienate some people but which I find refreshing. Back when he was doing surgery he did both a tonsillectomy and a septoplasty on me. Both went very well. He has extensive emergency room experience and was a Navy doctor years ago. I find his bedside manner to be quite good, unless you're looking for someone to mollycoddle you. It's a bummer he no longer does x-rays and labs but that's kind of the way things are going unless you are in a medical center environment. This is a small family practice with a doctor that has tons of experience. I just hope he doesn't retire soon. read more

Nice helpful doctor when you can get in. I've been trying to get a referral for 1 month, have left several messages, but no one will return my calls. Finally after a month of trying I got ahold of someone 2 days before my podiatrists appointment and they can't get me in until after my podiatrists appointment, so now I have to cancel the appointment. This doctor's office also does not do x-rays on site nor do labs any longer. Not really worth wasting your time unless it's for a general check up. read more

I'm in total agreement with Ester. I am experiencing the same problem with his office. I have waited over a week to get my lab results back from a pap smear I had due to abnormal bleeding and abdominal pain. He also recommended I have an ultrasound. I have made several attempts to reach his office for my lab results. I have only been able to leave a message on the machine with no return phone call. I recently because a patient of his, however I will not be returning to his office. And Ester you are absolutely correct- those nurses are rude and unprofessional. Dr Fassett always takes time to listen to me and my concerns and is very generous in referring to a specialist if that is called for. Dr. Fassett is a reliable family doctor with a speciality in ears, nose and throat. My entire family goes to him for all different reasons. I have never had any problems making an appointment in a timely manner, which reflects his staff or with his medical advice. He has refered me and my family to a specialist for procedures that were beyond his scope, which is understandable. I have also refered some of my friends to him for general medical advice. I can't bring myself in honoring this doctor with not even one star, but I have to give a rating so there you go. Where do I begin, at first when I tried setting an appointment I got the answering service the first few times calling. I should I have taken this as a sign to not have him as a physician. When I finally got in touch with the receptionist I was able to see the doctor sooner than I had thought. I was experiencing pains on my right side and Dr. Fassett had recommended an ultra sound be done. I got that done and results came back normal. He then recommended an abdominal cat-scan be done. I had the cat-scan done December 5th and the receptionist at the Imaging center had told me the results will be sent to my Dr. the very next day. I waited the next day to hear from Dr. Fassett and received no phone call. I waited a couple days then decided to call his office which in turn ended up reaching an answering machine. I had left a message asking to please contact me with the cat-scan results. Two days passed since I had left the message and never received a call back. In the meantime I was still sitting with the uncomfortable pain on my right side. I did a followup call and once again was passed to an answering machine where again I had left a message. I ended up in the hospital that weekend and was hospitalized for 3 nights and of course during this time the doctor at the hospital wanted to know what the results were from the cat-scan. Which I had no idea because Dr. Fassetts' office had failed in keeping me informed with this important information. I had to get the cat-scan redone while being an inpatient because they were unable to get the results from Dr. Fassett. Today I am sitting with two bills for two cat-scans. I had just tried calling Dr, Fassetts' office with the goal to dispute the bill and what do you know. I reach an answering service. I have taken this up with the Better Business Bureau as well as the Medical Board. The nurses are unfriendly and Dr. Fassetts' office is far from professional so Please Please Please stay clear of this doctor. read more
