I came to Haggin Oaks for the first time as a guest for the Sacramento Business Journal's 2025 40 Under 40 awards. I was a little lost with where to go.l, but a young lady drove by in a goft cart and escorted me to the award ceremony area. Once there I checked in easily and then found my seating area up front. The food, drinks and music were really good. And our table was setup with water and drinks as well. It was a very well put together event.

Haggin Oaks is a staple. If you golf in Sacramento, you know Haggin. Arcade is relatively straightforward course with the wretched 18th hole destroying all hopes and dreams but perfect to work on your game. There's usually some great deals to be found in the spring and summer for some twilight golf. Drink prices are closer to a sporting event and golf cart fees person is crazy but that's every course.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE this course, especially the DRIVING RANGE! The range is quiet with TopTracer which allows you to play virtual golf, keep track of your progress, and play miscellaneous games. It's a lot of fun! They have a little bar that's open during peak hours. During non-peak hours they have a food truck that sells snacks, beers, and seltzers. Prices for range balls: $5 for 25 / $14 for 70 / $18 for 100 / $24 for 100 PARKING: private lot with lots of parking. You may have to walk a bit because they're usually busy but you will definitely find a spot.

The food was fantastic and the drinks are generous.. get down to the range, then walk across the parking lot to the restaurant. Enjoy the sun and catch up with friends. The food was enjoyably messy and I loved every moment of it!

Trying to golf and have perfect form.

Never been on a golf course or driving range before, but this place is easy to pull up to, buy a cheap bucket of balls and go hit 'em for an hour or so. Great way to pass time and get out in the sun and drink beers in the morning. Got there early and had no problem getting a spot on the driving range. Recommend grabbing a beer or two at the cafe before the range and then another couple after. Bought myself a glove in the pro shop, so now that means I'll be back frequently.

It has been lovingly taken care of and highly maintained to its present day perfect state of being in my opinion. Golfing at Ancil is truly a walk (or golf cart ride) along side nature and beauty. Having sooo many relatives and friends who call Ancil Golf their home course is no coincidence. They all love the Ancil history, appreciate the landscape of the course and yes the competitive spirit of the game. I have had the pleasure of walking the incredible fairways and being a ride-a-long with many a golfer. So I know the special nuisances and ambiance of the course. I was recently reminded, again, how blessed the Carmichael community is to have Ancil Hoffman Golf Course as their own very special place of joy! I returned to Ancil recently to purchase a gift card as a Christmas gift. Even though it was cold the sun was shining and the golfers were out in numbers. Turkeys and deer grazing about. And amazingly... I saw a flock of magpies flying from tree to tree. Such rare birds since the Nile virus took its toll. Made my day! The Golf Shop employees are such welcoming and professional people. I think Sam helped me with my transaction. Friendly, engaging and helpful. He thanked me for supporting Ancil Hoffman with my purchase. That is amazing! A thing of beauty is a joy forever certainly applies to Ancil Hoffman Golf Course. Come and enjoy!

The holes were challenging just enough for myself (novice golfer), lined with trees, great tee boxes and not a lot of areas to lose balls. Which helps my game. It's a nice peaceful cove behind a neighborhood just next to the river.

Recently my son wanted to finally play a real round of golf and though he has been to the driving range many times over the years,he has never actually played a round,so when he told me that,I knew exactly where we were headed-we went to Foothill Golf Course in Citrus Heights. We showed up around 930a on a random weekday and it was empty minus a player or 2 at the far reaches of the course. So we paid our green fees of $20 each and were told to go ahead and tee off whenever we were ready. That $20 gives u access to play 9 holes at this short par 3 course and if u want and there are openings you can pay another $7 to play another 9 holes. This is a true no frills golf course-they have an area you can practice putting but that's about it,no driving range,no chipping area, and it's perfect that way-it's just a course you go to when you want to introduce someone to golf in a judgment free spot, etiquette can be taught but people aren't hung up on it here,it's a place where the love of the game can be born and I'm happy it exists. So if you are ever looking for a spot to take a new golfer in your life or maybe you want to try golf for the 1st time,I would fully recommend this golf course to give our lovely sport a shot-u never know,u might love it.

Based on the reviews here I was expecting piss poor conditions and the fact that I only paid $50 for the 2pm tee time led me to believe that was going to be the case. But boy was I wrong! I live in Southern CA and for $50 (cart included) at 2pm you'll be waiting at every tee box (even on weekdays) praying you find grass to hit from and the rental set of clubs would be a mix match of stuff they found in the lost & found. Here at Morgan Creek I received a beautiful set of Taylormade Qi 35 woods and Qi irons with a tour x spider putter as my rental clubs. I was not planning to play on this trip so I did not bring my own. The course was in good to great shape. Yes there were some bunkers that needed some love, and some water hazards that were drying up, but it appeared the tee boxes had recently been aerated so in a few weeks they'll be perfect, the greens were probably the best I've seen at this price point, could have been a little faster, but in general I loved the undulations and overall green complexes. I for SURE will be back! Even at $75 for a weekend rate, consider that a steal for the quality of the course! The only other course I've played in the area is the MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks (SAME PRICE) and this course was far and away my favorite of the two. I'm open to trying other courses in the area when I'm up for business, but I'm definitely coming back here for another round!

I have been a paying member for over a year, even through financial hardship, and I have always conducted myself respectfully inside the gym. Yesterday, the manager informed me that although my payment was two days late, I had a six-day grace period to bring the account current. This morning, I came in simply needing to take a quick shower before a scheduled job interview. Despite the manager's clear instructions, Don at the front desk refused to honor that grace period and would not allow me access. I explained the situation to him, including the fact that I had an interview approaching and was actively trying to get back on my feet. Unfortunately, Don showed no willingness to listen, no flexibility, and no professionalism. His tone and refusal were completely unnecessary and inconsistent with the "Judgment Free Zone" Planet Fitness promotes. Because of his actions, I was forced to leave, stuck in traffic trying to find somewhere else to take a shower, with only an hour before my interview -- a situation that could have been avoided if he had followed the guidance the manager had already given me. I strongly believe this incident warrants review by upper management or corporate. Members should not receive conflicting information, nor should they be treated dismissively by staff who choose to override their own manager's instructions. I hope this matter is addressed so no other member has to experience what I did.
