While waiting for our car to be serviced at the Honda dealership, we walked across the street to this location to see what the golf course/shop was offering. The golf coarse had 18 holes and offered putput area, as well as a driving range. We usually go off of Florin, but this location was really nice . Staff member FOA was so helpful in guiding us to what was available and giving us tips about the facility. They offer a free small basket when you bring in your ID at the shop so that you can test out some clubs. I am not a golfer but I have been convinced to start because of this location. Haggin oaks is a great beginner course located in Sacramento. Pros: you are able to choose either a 9 hole or 18 hole game. I was able to rent golf clubs here as I was on a trip for $15. If you wanted to rent them for an 18 whole game, you could rent them for double the price at $30. The clubs here were pretty good where they give you irons from 6 to 9 with a pitching wedge, gap wedge driver and two hybrids of course itself is very straight with a couple par 3's to par 5's. The grass here is maintained with not a lot of dirt or bumpy ground and a great place to practice using all your clubs. I was able to rent a golf cart too which was nice and new compared to other golf carts at other courses. Cons: the price here is not that bad ranging around $50 to 80 depending on how many holes you play. The location of the driving range and the pro shop compared to the first hole is kind of far but the good thing is that there's two different 18 whole courses here one that's beginner and another one that's advanced specifically I played the arcade course, which was the beginner course. Verdict: I highly recommend this place to practice using all your clubs where I had great maintained grass and greens and was in a good location with high-quality rental clubs and golf carts. read more

A buddy in my weekly golf league recommended I see Jack for a club fitting and the experience far, far exceeded my expectations. Everyone I interacted with at the facility was great. I opted for the Trackman fitting (whole bag) and Jack was pure class throughout the entire experience. He explained the what and the why on club selections and what the Trackman numbers meant in an easily consumable way. Although this was my first fitting and my first time meeting Jack, he's obviously a high character/integrity guy that gives a shit about what he does. In Sacramento when one brings up the golfing scene,the true mecca of golf in Sacramento begins and ends with Haggin Oaks Golf complex and Driving Range. In this review I wanna talk specifically about the driving range. My history with this range goes back pretty far,all the way back to 1996 when I moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area and didn't know a soul-so after work,especially on weekends with not much to do,I spent many a Friday and Saturday nights at the Haggin Oaks Driving Range working tirelessly on trying to perfect this game that is truly impossible to perfect. Over the years many things have changed at this range but a lot of very important things have remained the same,including a quality practice facility with well maintained mats and tees,along with quality balls to use when practicing at this location. Some of my favorite things today that they have that for sure didn't exist back in the 90s is the Top Tracer displays available at every practice stall which provides you with endless options for however you want to practice-be it golf games or serious data tracking to evaluate how far and straight you're hitting the golf ball. This facility is extremely popular,I would say it's the most popular range in Sacramento-if you come here on any random Friday or Saturday,no matter the hours,I guarantee this place will be packed,though there are so many practice stalls available,a spot will open up pretty quickly. Another thing I love about this spot is the ability to try out clubs in the pro shop before you buy them for free-you just go into the pro shop and find a club you want to try,then register with the pro shop guy and then just take the club out to the range for a quick practice session before deciding on purchasing the golf club. Haggin Oaks also has both a food truck on the premises and a bar stand where one can buy various alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy while working on your craft. Personally I've never bought any food from the truck but I do see people rave about the quality of their food offerings. This facility also has 3 separate putting greens one can use to practice their putting game-along with a separate area one can use to work on their chipping skills for free. I will admit this place isn't the cheapest place in the area to practice when it comes to the price of the balls,but I would say their prices are competitive with most golf courses and when you include the quality of this facility,I would say Haggin Oaks is unmatched. 25 balls cost around $6,while a large bucket of 100 balls run around $22. In closing-if the idea of trying out this game I love so much has ever crossed your mind and you want to come to a family friendly,skill friendly,wallet friendly environment-Haggin Oaks is your spot. I came to Haggin Oaks for the first time as a guest for the Sacramento Business Journal's 2025 40 Under 40 awards. I was a little lost with where to go.l, but a young lady drove by in a goft cart and escorted me to the award ceremony area. Once there I checked in easily and then found my seating area up front. However, after spending $$$$ on clubs, shoes, lessons and fitting, there are a few staffers who could be a little more friendly and not wait for me to say hello first. IMHO - When I see the TV commercials, it's fake. You would think that the staff would be more welcoming especially since I'm a regular. High praise though for the iron and putter fittings. Its a good coarse. Easy difficulty level. However the play is extremely slow due to the vast quantity of amateur players and marshals who dont regulate play. Also amateur players often have no courtesy or knowledge of golf etiquette. I want to start by saying that Haggin Oaks Golf Course and its facilities are fantastic. The grounds, range, and overall experience of being at the course are excellent. I truly enjoy being there. However, the quality and professionalism of some of the golf instruction staff need serious attention. I've participated in multiple group classes and had experiences with at least three older male instructors. While I respect their years of experience and knowledge of the game, the teaching environment has often felt outdated and, at times, inappropriate. There have been repeated "good old boys" style jokes, dismissive comments, and remarks directed toward women that felt unnecessary and unprofessional. One instructor, Don Pottle, even told several of us that he would "cut off our hands" if we held the club the wrong way again. While I understand that this may have been intended as humor, comments like that create an uncomfortable and intimidating learning environment -- especially for newer golfers. Golf is evolving. The culture of the sport is becoming more inclusive, welcoming, and diverse. Instruction should reflect that shift. Many new players -- especially women and younger golfers -- are looking for knowledgeable coaches who can teach effectively without relying on outdated humor or intimidation tactics. Haggin Oaks has an opportunity to lead in this area. Expanding the instructional staff to include more women and younger instructors, or investing in professional development around inclusive coaching, would make a significant difference. The facilities are great. The teaching culture just needs to catch up with the times. read more

Arcade is relatively straightforward course with the wretched 18th hole destroying all hopes and dreams but perfect to work on your game. There's usually some great deals to be found in the spring and summer for some twilight golf. Feels like this place is slowly declining in the value you get for paying an increased price, the range used to be worth it, and the greens used to be maintained better. At this point I would rather go play somewhere else twice for this price as half of the holes on the McKenzie side have actual holes that the ball might get lost in and it's my fault mainly but definitely not a friendly/fun course. $90 to walk a Morton Golf municipal course? Just to have the tee times booked 6 minutes apart. We had people yelling at us making threatening remarks screaming obscenities at us for our pace of play. They guy peeled out of the parking lot flipping us off and yelling racist slurs at my group. the Marshall telling us we need to pick up pace following us on every hole when our round took 4 hours and 25 minutes walking. This course management needs improvements to justify the high price. Yes the super shop is very Nice as well as the driving range but these prices are ridiculous. If you want to charge $100 for a round you can't just try to pack as many people on the course as possible booking us back to back like this and then chastise us for playing a round at the normal average pace. This is not even top ten courses to be charging almost $100 to walk. Woodcreek and Wildhawk are just as nice with good pace of play for half the price and better management for the game. I love the staff in the pro shop and club repair but the people in charge of booking and deciding the prices need improvement. I don't plan on returning until improvements are made, I usually do large groups there for birthdays and events but at the moment Morton Golf costs even more than Ancil Hoffman they charge $80 to ride I paid $90 to walk Haggin and that course is way nicer with friendlier staff. I understand higher overhead but if you charge that much for a round of golf then it needs to be justified. read more

Came here a few weeks ago for my first time. It's a huge store and I wanted to browse since I've never been. Was approached shortly after walking in which was great. Short conversation and said I drove from Vallejo to just look around. He immediately followed me every where I went. Found a shirt I liked and carried it with me. Went to look at shoes cause Im looking for something specific and did not find it. Upon walking out from the shoes he immediately snatched the shirt out of my hands and said I will keep this at the counter for you like I might walk out with it. That shirt cost me $75. So, it's been a minute since I've played Arcade Creek side here. Hit some warmup balls, the range is exceptional. Check in was easy, the starter was great, the course was in great shape. Everything was green even what is normally brown in the summer time. The greens on this course are flat, however they were in great shape, actually a bit fast. Overall great round of golf, other than slow players playing from the blacks and should be playing from the reds, lol. Played on a Wednesday, beautiful weather, so just enjoyed the day. I walked, played from yellows which are old white tees, shot 81. Not that matters, just giving an idea of the level of player. For the time of year was impressed. read more

ABSOLUTELY LOVE this course, especially the DRIVING RANGE! The range is quiet with TopTracer which allows you to play virtual golf, keep track of your progress, and play miscellaneous games. It's a lot of fun! They have a little bar that's open during peak hours. During non-peak hours they have a food truck that sells snacks, beers, and seltzers. Prices for range balls: $5 for 25 / $14 for 70 / $18 for 100 / $24 for 100 PARKING: private lot with lots of parking. You may have to walk a bit because they're usually busy but you will definitely find a spot. read more

On 10/22/25. I played in a tournament at the McKenzie course which was in great shape. The greens were punched just a couple weeks prior but still rolled pretty good. Never been on a golf course or driving range before, but this place is easy to pull up to, buy a cheap bucket of balls and go hit 'em for an hour or so. Great way to pass time and get out in the sun and drink beers in the morning. Got there early and had no problem getting a spot on the driving range. Recommend grabbing a beer or two at the cafe before the range and then another couple after. Bought myself a glove in the pro shop, so now that means I'll be back frequently. read more

I love Haggin Oaks. They're one of my favorite golf ranges and courses to come out and play. I like coming to their driving range to practice - they usually always have plenty of slots available. I also love their putting area. I also like the fact that they have a rental shop so that you can try different clubs or drivers. Before I got my new set of clubs, I would come to rent out their clubs to try and see which ones I liked. They have newly renovated restrooms too (yay!). They also have a bar and sell snacks and refreshments. I love that they have plenty of shaded seating too; great for breaks in between sessions as well as their regular seating. They have a golf shop that carries quite a bit of golf apparel selections as well as accessories and equipment. There is plenty of parking here; I've never had an issue finding parking of all the times I've been here. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Most of the guests and players here are pretty friendly too and mindful and respectful of your space. I've been here during all times of the day - morning, day and night and all times are great. I enjoy spending time here and would highly recommend this golf course and range. read more

This is a review for their golf lessons only. The instructors were Dale and John. These men are older and were obviously raised to think they could say certain things to women that they should not. The course should take responsibility and train them on how to interact properly with female clients in this day and age. Both threw out comments about how nice it is to have "pretty girls around", asked me if I was only learning golf because of my husband/boyfriend, and when correcting my hold on the club John told me not to hold the club how I was holding it because I looked like the slur used for folks with disabilities (R word). Those are just a few of the things said, there was plenty more, too many to list. Very disappointed to have been treated this way after paying money and expecting to be treated with respect. read more

Alright it's not often I get excited about writing reviews but here goes... 1. I live in So Cal and their are very few munis that play like this or are as old as this course or have a name like Alister Mackenzie tied to this. I see some folks on here complaining about the conditions of this course. Coming from LA I would be so happy with a course like this. 2. The staff are super friendly. From the starter to the food cart lady to the marshalls who drive around and offer you water. 3. The course is in solid condition and they really go out of their way to make golf fun. I love the star rating they have to tell you which tee you should play from. I chose the 3 star tee which probably made my round more fun than playing from a longer yardage than what my game calls for. 4. Monday afternoon, booked a 4:45 tee time at 4:00 for 22.99 to walk. Walked on at 4:30 and walked off 18 at 8:00 with the sun still out, 72 degrees, and a rainbow from a light sprinkle mid-round. You cannot make this stuff up. 5. I don't plan on playing Pasa, Royal Melbourne, Augusta, or Cypress Point at any time, but this is truly a great spot to still get a chance to play a Mackenzie and be transported back in time. read more

I visited Haggin Oaks specifically to check out the Toptracer Range. It's fantastic. If you're into golf (casual, amateur, or professional), I recommend checking out Haggin Oaks' driving range. The Toptracer driving range balls will be tracked by the Toptracer technology. Once you've paid for your balls, head over to one of the stalls that has a monitor. There are instructions on the monitor that will require you to download an application to your phone, which helps you track your driving range data. The Toptracer technology gives you the data (i.e. distance, ball speed) by displaying it on the monitor and saves it to your phone to help track your stats. I'll rotate through different clubs for practice and the data helps me figure out how well I hit the ball. I mainly use the Toptracer technology for practice. However, it also allows you to play games, such as capture the flag, go fish, closest to the pin, and virtual golf (where you can play at a golf course virtually). Overall: If you're looking to improve your game, I highly recommend the Toptracer Range at Haggin Oaks! read more

Ugly, poorly maintained, slow, you name it and they're lacking it. Has lots of room for growth though, employees were very kind and the complex itself is quite nice, but the course is awful. read more

I came here to join my partner at the driving rage.. we ordered food here I will say the sliders were really good 10/10 and the pizza was 1/10 but the service from the girl at the food truck was TERRIBLE. The two golf courses are okay. Holes range from mediocre to pretty interesting. There is some parts of the course where it gets pretty sketchy as the outer portions border a homeless encampment. Where this place really shines is it's pro shop. The selection of clubs, shoes, apparel dwarfs any other Golf store I've been too. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful as well. I wouldn't drive longer than 45 minutes to play the course, but I would take the trip if I was in the market for clubs/bags/ shoes etc. read more
