What a great golf course with amazing views at the driving range. They're up late during the summer hours and even at 730pm it was packed and the place to be. The prices are decent 100 balls for $21, normal pricing. There is food and drinks across the parking lot. read more

Glad I made the trip out from Solano County to try this classic. Relatively good price for a Friday morning round despite what has already been discussed on here... PACE OF PLAY. Course was still damp(generously put) from the recent rain we just had, a very nice local we were paired with informed us of the poor drainage & said during the summer it's completely different which I could imagine. Conditions outside of that were nothing to complain about for a public track, great facility's and an additional 9 hole course for the kids or a quick practice loop. One thing I will say is it took 5.5 hours to complete 18 & not one Marshall was out to enforce pace of play so that was unfortunate but any time I can get out & play it's a blessing so still 4/5 from me! read more

If you're looking for a relaxing round on the weekend with your buddies don't come here. We had a tournament start 15-20 minutes behind us, everyone's moving a little slower because it's 103 degrees out. Stop to grab some refreshments at the turn and got held up 20 or so minutes then when we start the back 9 not one, not two but three different employees drove by to tell us we need to play faster or asked if we needed anything to play faster. The third guy eventually followed 10 feet behind us in holes 10-12 until I finally asked if we were that much of an issue just to refunded so we can leave and not hold up the tournament. I was trying prevent any sort of confrontation or issue, we're all out trying to enjoy a Saturday where we can all find time to meet up and we're getting harassed by multiple employees. Instead of saying he would talk to his manager he proceeded to drive up to the 13th hole and wait for us and double back to argue with us some more. I don't understand the thought process here, will hassling us the entire last 6 holes make us play faster? Worst experience I have had at any business, golf course or not. If you want to enjoy a relaxing Saturday round with your friends do not come here. Also, we ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and they gave us grilled cheese sandwich. read more

The driving range at Bing Maloney is solid; the area is clean and there is a section with a overhang to help mitigate the sun and the rain. There are less stalls here than other places like Haggin Oaks but I seem to always be able to find an empty stall. During prime time, the parking lot can get full. The parking lot is somewhat in the middle between the Executive, 18 hole, and driving range. The driving range's lighting at night is great; there's sufficient light for me to practice. It's been 20+ years since I golfed. Now that we have adult children, my husband suggested I start playing again. End of September I signed up for 3 lessons with Patrick! He asked my goals for the game. He gave me the instruction I needed. He was very patient, flexible, responsive and helpful. He even sent exercises to do practice at home. I love the old golf course feel and they offer a nice driving range facility but the prices are outrageous. Thought it would be nice to bring my two young sons to enjoy the range facility but the cost to hit range balls are extremely over priced and they do not offer junior golfers a break. read more

Me and my buddies played a round Fridau, our tee time was 10:54. My complaint is that we were charged $80.99 per golfer, greens were VERY slow and bumpy as they were punched three weeks ago. Additionally, now prices of range balls have sky-rocketed to cover the cost of Track Man technology (25 balls for $6, 70 balls for $16 and 100 balls for $21). They played the "Dynamic Pricing" in the Pro Shop to justify the ridiculous cost but I would recommend that a very average course should never be above $50 to $60 similar to Bartley, WildHawk, Teal, etc... absolutely crazy!!! read more

If you're looking for a quiet game of golf, check out Bing Maloney! I had never been here before, and it's definitely an out of the way spot to get your game on at. The course is fairly basic, with a few twists to keep it interesting. I've never golfed before, and when friends invited me to check it out with them, I jumped at the chance. The grounds are well maintained and it's an enjoyable "walk" and a quicker than average game. Grab your clubs, and your cute golf attire, and hit the greens. Great experience. I went on a Saturday morning around 7:30am and it was already packed. Had to wait a few minutes for an open spot. That just speaks on how great this place is. The only 2 things that I would comment on are he grass (or lack thereof) in some areas, which is really not that big of a deal. The other is the tracker on my lane was broken, which is the reason some ppl go to Bing Maloney to play, but also didn't bug me at all. I will definitely be going back! read more

Review is for driving range only. It seems every time I go there's an issue. Poor balls and rude inexperienced employees are just the start. It's almost like they don't want your $$. Several times I have seen the ball dispensers closed 5-10 minutes early with not even a "last call for balls" announcement. While several people were waiting for a spot to open so they could grab a bucket. They put in Top Tracer last year. Very cool. Then they of course immediately raised the prices on their buckets of balls. Totally understandable. But now the tracers have been down for a while with no adjustment in price. They can't even be bothered to put some paper cups out near the cooler of water. It's clear they don't know how, or care to, actually provide their paying customers with an adequate experience. read more

Quality/ Character of their guest are poor and the staff have poor hospitality skills. We had younger kids who weren't playing but they were out on the green. We were playing a little slow with a few beginners and we let groups go before us. One group decided to cuss at us and hit balls towards us while we're still on the green and the staff came out to tell us to just pick up our balls and move on. I've played here before and had a great experience, but with beginners I'd stay away. Their staff should have been more centered and not take sides in this situation instead of basically telling us to not play and leave. read more

Bing Maloney was once a top-level course. Today, $55 per 18 with a cart. Top dollar take and yet course conditions are so much less than ever. I wanted to pass along a 'huge thanks' and my sincere appreciation to 'Jim' the golf course manager along with Kelcee at the front desk pro shop (sp) for his professional attitude. I played golf there on Feb 27th and forgot my range finder which was magnetized to the golf cart. I only realized I had forgotten it on my next round days later at Haggin Oaks GC. I immediately started making phone calls for the golf course manager and ended up speaking with Kelcee. I provided him the serial number and description and it was eventually tracked down. Jim called me and left a message on my phone stating that he had located it. I am ever so grateful for their honesty and helping me retrieve my range finder (my heart was in my throat). The range finder is a top of the line range finder ($600+) and would be a hard piece of news to break to the wife. We don't have a lot of honesty in this world anymore, but Bing Maloney staff sure exhibited what honesty used to look like years ago. Again, my sincere appreciation for tracking my range finder down. Been playing here for several years and nice 18 and executive 9 to practice the short game. The five stars goes out to Calvin in the pro shop who is there late afternoon to twilight. Always friendly and for an example, today I was there mid morning around 11 am tee time, walked on then, by the 4th hole got called in to work. Damn. Got off at 5:30 pm rushed to Bing and let Calvin know I'm back to play twilight and was ready to play and PAY again. He said don't worry about it, NO green fee and just tee off. Bing Maloney is one of several public golf courses in the greater Sacramento area. It has been in service since the 1950s and includes both a full 18 hole course and a 9 hole executive. There is a decent driving range along with nice chipping green, sand bunker and putting areas. The pro-shop is not bad at all but Maloney's Grille just ... OK. Even though it has been very hot this month .... I recently found the 18 hole course to be quite green and well-manicured. If anything, a little damp in some areas. This is a fairly open and long course that still provides challenges for most golfers. read more

Great place I visit my family and I didn't have space in my car to bring my clubs. So i call to see if they rent set of clubs. Super personal told me we don't rent we can let you barrow one of the sets that we have I was in shock when he said that I was happy but he was clear ours set of clubs are old you can put a set for you no charge. I play the small 9 par 3 holes, as I was playing I catch up with 3 super cool gentleman they asked me if I want a drink since I forgot my waters at the club house. And I end up playing the rest of the holes with this cool gentleman. I will coming back to play here every time I'm in Sacramento read more

Bing is in great shape. This old course has lots of trees which adds character to this gem. In the past few months they have really improved the conditions and us regulars are very happy. The starter Brandon and the guy on the first tee, Mack, are fantastic. There's a nice covered driving range and they have an Executive 9 for those starting out as well. Great facilities! read more

If you're looking for a decent golf facility with a little bit of everything such as: 18-hole course, smaller 9-hole course for mostly iron play, a driving range, 2 putting green areas, a club house pro shop, a club house eatery, and plenty of large trees and small animals such as squirrels and ducks, then give this place a try. The main 18-hole course is pretty straight-forward for beginners and near intermediate players looking to consistently hit straight shots. I've played the Executive-9 hole course a long time ago but I do remember it serve its purpose to improve iron play. Also, cost is more forgiving if you're on a budget and if you're still afraid to drive the ball. The driving range is serviceable if you don't mind hitting on the mats and looking at the during the sun sets. Be sure to aim for the golf ball retriever truck if you can. In my opinion: 4-stars for near intermediate and beginner players. 3-stars for experts and those looking for a challenge. (18-hole course = Hole#3 used to have water. If it's because of the drought over time and global warming, please try your best to conserve water as much as possible during the summer season. There were ducks playing around before but not as fun without the water the last time I remember.) read more
