What wasn't expected was this time I'd be leaving with an Edward Scissorhands hack job. She has some skill but not consistent, apparently. I went back to get this resolved/adjusted but I strongly feel the onus was placed on me to make suggestions as to how to address the stylist's fail which resulted in a missing chunk of hair at my face and top layers 2 inches shorter than what we'd - mutually - decided on and a massive disconnect. The best practice would have been to consult the salon owners to give a second opinion when I came back, given she knew I was coming in with a problem. They do extensions at that salon and that could have been offered for what would have amounted to a small insert and not a free head of supermodel hair. Given I'm stuck with hours of additional work at my end amounting to more time out of my day and money on styling products the latter could have also been offered. My bangs were uneven and she couldn't even correct that minor imbalance without screwing up. The salon owner called to discuss which unfortunately was a complete defence of the stylist and lack of client respect. Apparently my getting a refund was supposed to be enough which hardly accommodates the months of dealing with a crappy service. Sure the salon comment will be something like "not a good fit" "miscommunication" as per my conversation with the owner or a suggestion I go elsewhere. I'm ahead of them on the last point.

I believe Adriana is the one of the lead hair stylists and store owner. She did balayage on me and "cleaned up" my hair cut. After we discussed my preferences, we agreed it would be best for her to simply trim some frayed hair rather than give me a full hair cut. In terms of colour, she did deliver on the "cool ashy blonde" I asked for. I would have preferred for the colour to be lighter, but she did caution me my naturally dark hair may not lift as much (which was the case). When we were almost done and she was styling my hair, she noticed some yellow/unsightly tones at the back of my head that weren't entirely toned. Despite already toning, washing and drying my hair, she stopped to re-tone that section. I thought that was very honest of her to do that. It shows her integrity and care to attention for her work. Luckily though, I only had to wait 10 minutes sitting in the chair unattended with soaking wet hair. As a new customer, I think Nick honestly did try to focus on my hair and discuss various options with me but it seemed as though, with every 'regular' customer that walked through the door, his focus quickly shifted to them instead. I have long, curly hair with long layers and was looking to add a little more 'bounce' to my curls. The layers that were cut throughout the back are fine however, I was left with an odd layer that was cut into the front which has left me looking as though I'm trying to grow out my bangs... which I don't have... Or didn't have... I don't know what I have anymore! The next day when I tried to style it myself, it was a colossal failure! I typically just diffuse my hair and go - not quite the case anymore! I had no option but to run to the store and purchase the essential tools so that I could force my hair into submission! It's going to take a long time to grow this out. :(

I went in with a gift certificate from my birthday to get my hair done and ended up spending about 3+ hours in the salon. Not only was I forgotten about multiple times, but I was left sitting in a salon chair with wet hair for about 20-25 minutes. Not cool. The salon wasn't even busy so there really wasn't any excuse. I was so upset with the service I received (what made it worse was that it was supposed to be a birthday gift) that I refused to go back. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a salon that gives me as good results as this place had. When I was having my hair done regularly, I was rather pleased with the salon. The owner, Nick, while crazy busy, is a nice guy and most of the stylists etc are very nice. I will say that you shouldn't go here to get your hair done if you have somewhere else to be within the next few hours. Expect a solid chunk of time to be taken up while here. No one can dispute Nick's fantastic styling abilities. It's not cheap to get your hair done here but the cuts are FANTASTIC. It's my understanding that Nick studied hair design in Europe and it definitely shows. Even when your hair is growing out waiting for that next cut, it still looks fantastic. And even when I stopped going there, my hair still looked fantastic until the next time I got my hair cut elsewhere. I was usually going in for color and cut (sometimes with highlights) and the cheapest bill was probably in the area of $120. Until I had that terrible experience, I would have rated the salon a 4, but if you're looking for a good place to have your hair done, this is one of the better places I've found.

I live in NY so I have a U.S. bank and wasn't able to pay the $20 deposit because I don't have e-Transfer, but I emailed the salon and they said it was no problem and not to worry about it. I was able to use my Visa credit card (they also take Mastercard) to pay. If you do pay the deposit, $20 is deducted from your total. The hair washing station is really relaxing, with lie-flat chairs so your neck doesn't hurt and sparkling lights on the ceiling. I'm so happy with my cut ($80 CAD before tip) and I think I got a great value for the level of service. I highly recommend Sam and this salon, his technique was so meticulous and I love my cut.

Our appointment was for 11 am but at 1030, Amanda text us that Bella was stuck on a GO Bus and wouldn't be able to start until 1130. Normally that's not a big issue, but I was dealing with really tight timelines because of nap times and attention spans, so I couldn't just burn 30 more minutes than expected. I explained this to Amanda, and she said if I could get there soon, she would cut my daughter's hair. The salon opens at 11, but Amanda started with us at 1045. The level of customer service was unreal. Friendly, accommodating, apologetic and I got what I came there for - a sophisticated haircut for my daughter that wasn't just a "who cares you're a kid" cut. The salon is beautiful inside, the sparkling lights about the hair washing station was a nice touch. At the very end, Bella did show up and she seemed nice as well, but Amanda really came through for us. We will be back!!
