Loved the nostalgic design of this coffee shop. As a Chinese person, I genuinely had a little "wow" moment when walking through that smaller doorway into the order area - it felt familiar in the best way. The baristas were super friendly, and I especially liked the small board showing photos of their specialty drinks and each barista's personal favorite. I ordered the Mekong Citrus and a Chai Thai Tea with cheese cream on top. Both were excellent. The Thai tea is definitely a calorie bomb, but it's worth it - so good! I also enjoyed browsing the little Asian-themed plant shop next door, filled with books, candles, cups, and other small goodies. We'll definitely be back.

Super cute spot with great coffee drinks and delicious bahn mi croissants. The counter is all the way in the back so you go through lots of tables and seating areas first. Service is friendly and the menu is interesting and well executed. I missed out on the popup that was hosted earlier that day, but my drink and croissant were delicious so I'll be back soon :)

This new cafe is everything to me. Bright and vibrant inside, the cafe drinks match to a T. The orange (Orange Amber) and lemon (Mekong Citrus) drinks are light and citrusy, not a typical espresso drink you'd find at other coffee shops. BUT it is infinitely delicious and you NEED TO come here. The Bahn mi on a croissant was the show stopper. Buttery and spicy. In love. Can't wait to see what this space does. I love it. Good job folks!!

A ridiculously beautiful and spacious (yet cozy) spot, my only complaint is that there are already a couple of fantastic cafes within the same 2 block area and hate to see them have to compete. Haibayo is one of my favorite cafe experiences in all of Chicago, with a good drink selection and a decent banh mi croissant. Since it coexists with a community center, the seating is plentiful and varied but often fills up with how deservedly popular the cafe is. Wonderful place to do work or to get coffee after a meal of pho on Argyle

This is such a wonderful cafe that truly celebrates Argyle's history and culture! I came here to work remotely for a day, and there was plenty of space and outlets available. The decor was stunning, and I loved how it recognizes the creation of Argyle and the history of Vietnamese immigrants who came to Chicago. The workers were very helpful in providing drink options. I loved my coffee drink - it was fresh and had a great coconut flavor. It's also connected to the charming plant shop Qideyas, so you really get it all with this spot. Will definitely be a new go-to spot for me!

As a community member, it's a "must visit" if you want to get involved with some cool local events and to check out what's going on in the neighborhood. If you are just interested in the fitness center, that's cool too. It's a long rectangular room that looks out over a lagoon and charges a monthly or an annual fee. When I first spotted this building against the dramatic clouds and bright blue sky yesterday, my spirit soared. I don't even care if that's silly talk because that's how enamored I was with the view. "What is this place?" I had to pull in the lot and go inside. What I found were crafty-colorful witches greeting me.... I roamed along to where some voices were coming from and before I knew it, I was standing in an "old-school" gym/basketball court/auditorium. The space looked out of "Dead Poet's Society" or so like that. I backed up toward the wall to take a photo and whoa!! radiant heat from the grate (looks original!) on the wall. I was wrapped in all kinds of warmth. Further wrapped figuratively, by the one lady employee who saw me marveling at this place. She began telling me all about the programs, the fitness center and you could tell she loved her job, the city of Chicago and the place she worked. Thank you, Chicago Park District for keeping this kind of gem alive and housing such awesome community spirit here. http://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/parks/humboldtpark/ excerpt re: architecture: "In 1928, the West Park Commission contructed a fieldhouse in Humboldt Park. The structure was designed by architects Michaelsen and Rognstad, who were also responsible for other notable buildings including the Garfield Park Gold Dome Building, the Douglas and LaFolette Park Fieldhouses, and the On Leong Chinese Merchant's Association Building in Chinatown. In 1934, Humboldt Park became part of the Chicago Park District, when the city's 22 independent park commissions merged into a single citywide agency." (I'm learning why I love Paris so much...many nooks of Chicago were based on Parisian design: the Midway Plaisance in Hyde Park is another notable area: http://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/parks/Midway-Plaisance-Park/ )

Adult gardeners can attend a continuing education series and other workshops sponsored by The Friends of Kilbourn Park Organic Greenhouse. Although the park is one of the smaller ones in the city, they have a soccer field, tennis courts, playground, basketball court, Kilbourn Park also offers different after school programs for kids and a summer camp that is quite good.

We were looking for a nice, sit-down cafe and there are a decent number of tables but almost all of them were occupied so seating was limited and it was hard to really settle in comfortably. The drinks were fine (although a bit pricey) and they did take a while to come out (it was crowded but most of the people already had their drinks). There was also a slight mix up where one of the drinks was missed which was eventually resolved, but again, added to the overall wait and slightly disorganized feel of the visit. Nothing was really bad, but nothing stood out either. It just felt a bit overwhelmed by the volume of people compared to the space and speed of service. Decent drinks and nice decor but long wait times and limited seating made the experience less enjoyable than it could've been.
