This office cleaned out my flex account last year, but problems persist. They're saying I may need to come out of pocket another 2 grand due to more gum problems (which I thought were corrected my previous visit which cost over a thousand dollars). Also, just when you think you've paid your entire bill after cleaning out my flex, these mystery charges seem to spring out of nowhere and because I got billed the next calendar year, my FSA will not accept the payment. It started out as a friendly relationship but now, they seem to approach healthcare like used car salesmen. I have already switched dentists.

When I scheduled my filling appointment weeks in advance, I was quoted about $50 out-of-pocket and required to leave a $25 deposit, which already seemed unusual for a small procedure. I paid it anyway. When I arrived for my appointment and was already in the dental chair, a back-office staff member came in with a new quote of $100. This was the first time I was told of any change, and the quote did not even reflect the $25 deposit I had already paid. I calmly asked when they realized the cost would be higher than what I was quoted. No one answered that question. Instead, I was repeatedly told, "This is insurance," in a dismissive, condescending tone. Rather than working toward a solution, they chose to reschedule my appointment. I requested my deposit back and decided not to continue care there. I had driven in from Oklahoma for this appointment, making the situation especially frustrating. As I was leaving, the staff member who originally booked my appointment smiled broadly and said "bye" in a way that felt clearly sarcastic and unprofessional. Mistakes happen, but clear communication, accurate billing, and basic professionalism matter. Unfortunately, this office fell short.

Then (even though I had an appointment with Dr Chang) I was switched to an Indian Dr, who had substandard equipment in the same office. She inspected my teeth (after my cleaning) and then proceeded to insert 2 hands to stretch my mouth out. (Never in my many decades of seeing dentists has this been a protocol) She said it was to inspect my gums. That was my first and last appointment with her and Waterview dentistry . I asked when Dr. Chang would be in and they were very vague about it, saying he comes in and they don't know when he will be in the office. I did my research into highly rated dentists. I do not want to be paying for substandard care. Will NOT be going back there ever.
