They're saying I may need to come out of pocket another 2 grand due to more gum problems (which I thought were corrected my previous visit which cost over a thousand dollars). Also, just when you think you've paid your entire bill after cleaning out my flex, these mystery charges seem to spring out of nowhere and because I got billed the next calendar year, my FSA will not accept the payment. It started out as a friendly relationship but now, they seem to approach healthcare like used car salesmen. I have already switched dentists.

I politely decline and say I wasn't prepared to pay anything out of pocket today; I'll just do a regular cleaning. They refused to do it claiming they can lose a license for not doing the recommended cleaning. So they're claiming that as a patient, I can't choose a basic routine cleaning...I'm being forced to do a much more expensive treatment or else the doctor could lose his license!? (Never in my many decades of seeing dentists has this been a protocol) She said it was to inspect my gums. That was my first and last appointment with her and Waterview dentistry . She was in the middle of doing Xray when the other front lady said she couldn't find my insurance info and it would be out of pocket!! She had me sit down and put this sharp tool inside my gum and I go ouch! She goes oh yeah you definitely need a deep cleaning! Because your gum is so sensitive and we have to numb it to do deep cleaning and your insurance doesn't cover it or might cover half!! Wait what?!! Yeah! That's right they were absolutely not going to do a regular cleaning because I chose deep cleaning the only option available on their website for my appointment and they needed an excuse so they can make more money!! Ridiculous. And she had the audacity to tell me to go back to my old dentist which is in different state, if I want to do only the regular cleaning! She was very unprofessional and when she was putting the tool in my mouth to do the Xray, it was not covered all the way in plastic. I have been to many dental offices and never ever had issues like this. FYI that was not even the doctor, it was the assistant so I never even got the actual doctor to do the examination because she was gone! This is how they are trying to get people!
