Odet is incredibly knowledgeable. This girl knows fitness! She knows exactly how to challenge and motivate her clients. Christine's positive energy, smile and genuine kindness make every class such a joy. Alin is also another amazing and motivating instructor. And Courtney somehow delivers an amazing workout while keeping everyone laughing, it's like getting a comedy show with your Pilates class! I can go on and on about each and every single instructor. I respect studio policies, but the way the situation was handled immediately created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the class itself was equally disappointing. The pace was extremely slow, there were long pauses between exercises, and much of the session felt like resting rather than working out. At one point, a participant actually put on a sweatshirt during class because the workout was so low intensity. To make matters worse, the class ended about four minutes early despite already feeling far less active than a typical Pilates session. What bothered me most was the complete lack of engagement. Lola never corrected my form, never checked my technique, never interacted with me, and made no effort to create a welcoming environment after our initial disagreement. I spent 45 minutes feeling ignored. Not even a simple goodbye when I left. I've taken many Pilates classes, and this was the first time I walked out feeling unwelcome, underworked, and disappointed all at once.

With consistent classes, I've noticed a huge improvement in my strength, built muscle, and feel much more toned overall. I've taken classes with several different instructors, and they're all really great, but I have to give a special shoutout to Helene. She gives clear, helpful instruction and thoughtful adjustments, and she really knows how to challenge you and push you to improve. Her classes are never boring. She mixes things up with different moves and keeps it fresh every time. On top of that, she makes class genuinely fun and always gets us laughing, which is a nice distraction from the burn! Working with Zonnie has built up my core and strength overall. I'm more toned and have lost weight. But what I really need to recommend is working with Zonnie herself. She adapts each lesson to how my mind and my body are feeling that day. She has helped me focus or be Zen when I come in frazzled or will accommodate on days when I'm just plain tired. It is astonishing at how much improvement I have had and how quick it was…read more I had some old and newer injuries that affected balance, movement, walking, knee pain, lower back, hip, etc. It wasn't just that Zonnie knew the exercises that were correct, she knew exactly how to do them, what exact position, and what muscles to activate. She is keenly present from moment to moment observing, correcting, and controlling, and is a very competent, pleasant, and calming presence. Then there is a different way of breathing, standing, balancing, and operating one's body in day-to-day life, the training along with the exercises to activate the appropriate muscles. The improvement in my balance is huge, I was frequently tripping or bumping into things - no more. I love to stand up paddleboard, now my balance has improved so that I can paddle on rougher ocean water. I like hiking again - it had become tiring due to injuries. There are side benefits associated with the core exercises and breathing technique that has improved certain common difficulties associated with males of a certain age. Better sleep etc. My knee, lower back and hip pain seem to be in the past as well. It's a lot more fun to do the day-to-day stuff.

The room gets so hot and we're not even in the dead of summer yet. I'm not sure if A/C is limited or what's going on with the ventilation. Also, the layout of the space is narrow but long. Machines are spread out with enough space in between each other, but they're basically stacked vertically (one behind another for a few rows). It does seem to be the most space-conscious arrangement for what they are working with, but it's hard to follow if you're all the way in the back and the instructor is demo'ing a new move or if the instructor is newer or not superbly clear throughout class. If this studio location is close to you, do NOT skip on Motivate! Bring grip socks (if you don't want to buy them there) and be on time. If you're early, check out the boutiques and mom-in-pops along Honolulu Avenue. Choose a machine in or near the front unless you're a regular.
