I cannot recommend this salon. I have been getting my hair done here since approx. October, 2022. The owner, Tara, and I parted ways recently - her choice - and when I asked her for my hair formula so I could take it to my new salon - she refused. She stated in a text to me that she only gives this info to her "snowbird clients". I originally provided her with my "formula" graciously given to me - and with no stipulations - from my previous stylist, Caitlin, at Green Apple Salon. However, over the course of the last 2 years, Tara, changed the "formula" to meet my needs. Now she is refusing to give me the updated formula. IMO this is extremely unprofessional. These are before/after pics from my appointment the other day @ hair alchemy with Crystal. I told her I wanted my hair less yellowish and a little brighter on top and she did exactly that! (Plus took off all split ends and redid my layers since it had been my first cut since before quarantine). I'm really happy with how it came out and I thought the energy in the business was just super welcoming and chill. I went to this salon today to have a gray conversion. Which means removing previous dye from my hair and matching my hair to my roots. The stylist, Hailey, was excellent. So upbeat and fun to talk to and I really love the result. read more

You can not reach them by phone to voice my concerns. First they have over a 150% mark up. They make broad statements that are simply not true. Way overpriced. Charging for things other top salons give you... money hungry thugs. Not true people phony people just for sale. They act like a top salon but they are not. I live in Tokyo Japan. They know hair. I'm so happy to have found my new gal, Kat! Tried her for a cut and loved it, came back for keratin last Wednesday. I went as long as I could stand before washing it today, Sunday, and let it air dry. Could not be happier with the results! It has a very slight wave that can easily be flat ironed out with a few swipes which is exactly what I wanted for my kinky/curly hair. It'll be so easy going into the holidays and tax season! This is embarrassing to admit, but until this summer, I had not had a haircut in 3+ years. The excuses were many...couldn't decide on a style, couldn't decide on a salon, was too cheap, too indecision, too busy...etc...but Hair Alchemy changed all of that with the simple placing of a Groupon offer. Tara is not only an incredible hairstylist, but an amazing person. I have had my hair cut by so many professionals, and in many different cities, but few have come close to her superb attention to detail. I have had the pleasure of receiving cuts, color and blowouts from Tara, and she rocks all services equally! My biggest complaint is that I don't live close enough to have her exclusively as my hairstylist! Tara is truly gifted; and I don't say that lightly. She is genuine and shares her extensive knowledge in hair freely, which i think is such a rare, and important, quality in a stylist. I have also had my hair done once by Justin, and he is also very talented. He is so easygoing and listens to what his clients wants. I'm dissatisfied with my hair color and felt like my hair was being done by a kindergartner, who happened to be a co owner of the place...the owner supervised Justin, and my hair is blotchy in spots, I spent 80$ and tried to get a refund so I could go somewhere else( because at moment I'm isolating because my hair looks terrible) just ridiculous. I recommend never going there. They didn't do what I wanted, I'm appalled they won't even refund my money. And owner Tara hung up on me. Bad bad business!!!! read more

I went in for color.... my hair was already blond and I needed the new growth to be covered.. Was told I needed color & highlights... upsell to $100.00 The grey on sides of my temples & around my hairline did not take. Told to come back for a re-do. Went back and did not get blond coverage! Told my operator that it is brown, not blond when she was drying it. ! She told me that was all she could do. Called back after I got home & washed & dried hair & YES - it is brown, not blond! I recently moved to the area and was in search of a new salon. I saw a few people had recommended Kat so I booked for a haircut. It was a simple cut so it turned out fine. I went back for highlights to blend my grays. It came out horrible. I went back and was told to wash it to remove the toner and if I didn't like it she would happily fix it. I washed it and ended up with orange blotches, a three inch wide light streak and a a few highlighted strands which were not even near the gray that I wanted blended. I returned so she could fix it but she wanted to charge me to fix her mistakes. I spoke with the manager and was very disappointed with his attitude. Needless to say it was a huge waste of time and money. I guess the moral of the story is when you are going for something costly do not choose a Level 1 stylist and check reviews for the exact service you are wanting. read more

I love this place! Lindsay is phenomenal! I have SUPER curly hair and never had such an amazing hair cut. Lets put it this way, I have never set up an appointment in advance for a hair cuts, however I was so impressed I knew I had to make this place a routine! The studio had a very hip vibe, I saw one of the other ladies there (I believe it was the owner) doing a short bob w/ blow out and I have to say she was just as proficient! I felt so comfortable there, and I love that Lindsay was more interested in cutting my hair and making sure it was perfect then questioning me about my life! Big plus is they have a really great Groupon and rewards program which makes a couponer like me pretty darn excited! read more

I am very impressed with this salon and I haven't even been through the door yet! I have heard great things so I decided to call in this morning to find out more about their services. Daniel, the gentleman who answered the phone answered with such professionalism I felt like I was calling one of the salons I used to frequent in NYC. (He also seems to have a great phone voice in general.) He was a joy to speak with, was very polite, and answered all of my questions (I am very thorough when interviewing a new salon and quite picky). I was in town visiting family and was in serious need of a hair dye, as my roots had grown out quite a bit. I found Hair Alchemy nearby with good reviews and thought I would give it a try. Justin was super accommodating and fit me in for a last minute appointment. He was very nice to work with and talk to while he dyed my hair. At first I was pretty bummed with the results, I'm very particular about my red hair colors, and the dye looked much darker and more "berry" red than I expected. I went back to see if Justin could fix it, and he really went out of his way to take care of me. He stayed almost an hour past closing to lighten my hair to exactly the color I wanted. I've been to many salons in my lifetime but have never had as amazing an experience as I had at Hair Alchemy. Tara and Justin are really PASSIONATE (an overused word but appropriate here) about hair and have educated themselves about the care and feeding of hair. I have curly hair that I wear natural. Every other salon has washed and cut my hair. Not at Hair Alchemy! Tara sat with me first and had me fill in a short questionnaire about my hair and my goals...and then she asked me an incredible question...do I have my hair cut wet or dry!!! Wet or dry, who knew I had options! Since I had never experienced it before, I chose dry. Tara then proceeded to take individual curl groups and cut them individually so that they would each lay in the most flattering way. The haircut was a revelation! I can't wait to go back to have my color touched up. I will be returning to this salon often and have recommended Hair Alchemy on many other sites. Try it, you will become a believer too! read more

I was so happy to find Hair Alchemy & have the experience of the first of many haircuts I intend to get at this salon. I was immediately made to feel comfortable upon entering. I was taken on a tour of the facility & what they offer by Trisha who was just as sweet as she looked. I had an appointment with Tara who was just amazing. She was so professional, understanding and made me feel great right from the beginning. I absolutely had one of the best haircuts that I ever had. The overall experience was perfect. This is definitely the only salon I will use. Tara runs a top notch salon and I just loved all their pleasant touches.
