Great salon. Clean and pleasantly laid out. Several bathrooms available. Friendly staff. They offer refreshments. Walk-ins are available but if you request a specific stylist you'll need to make an appointment. Kayla is awesome but she books 6-8 weeks out. I'm new to the area so I stopped into the salon to look around and pick up a business card. While I was standing there, One stylist was with a client, looked at me twice, and said nothing to me. Another stylist was sitting at the desk next to the front counter working on the computer. I stood there for several minutes; she never looked up or acknowledged me in any way. I walked out. I have had up and down experiences here. It all depends on the stylist. It is hard to find a stylist you like and the 2 stylist that I went to here weren't very consistent. I went in once and got the best haircut I'de ever had then the next time I was disappointed and all I asked for was the exact same cut from the exact same stylist. go figure. read more

I love my stylist, but I moved with her from where she worked before. I come all the way from MI to see her. Ask for Becky and tell her where you heard the recommendation from. She always listens, and never ever does a bad job. I give HER five stars, the salon? I took away a star for, but it is still a nice salon! The website is really outdated and the salon I think needs a bit of updating, but it isn't bad at all! They have really nice unique homemade earrings, jewelry, and headbands, things like that. :) read more

Hair Benders - Can you say terrible customer service! I had an appointment scheduled for 10:00am on Saturday - March 31. 1 hour before my appointment I got a call saying my stylist called in sick and telling me I need to reschedule. I asked about the same day and I was asked why I was opposed to a different day. I reluctantly rescheduled for 2:00pm on Thursday April 5. I received a voice mail on Tuesday telling me that my stylist had quit and I would need to come in to see Vicky at 4:00 instead. Before I could even respond I got another message stating that I just need to reschedule. No apologies, it was as if I was an inconvenience to them. I called Wednesday afternoon and asked for a manager, I was told the manager was not in. Emily called me back a few minutes later and said she was a manager. Emily was more interested in telling me how overwhelmed Hair Benders was. There appeared no way they could handle my appointment without inconveniencing someone else. I asked to talk to the owner. Emily said Vicky was upstairs and that she was getting ready to go on vacation and was not available to talk. Maybe the poor customer care at the place is why my stylist left. . . who knows. read more

I went to Hair Benders with my bridal party on my wedding day. Tucked away in a darling house in Okauchee, it was the perfect place for my crew! The owner and staff were very accommodating. They made it easy for me to relax and enjoy my special day with my best friends. I was nervous getting my hair done because I never got in for a practice. Amanda was amazing!! I showed her a couple pictures as ideas and the end result was perfect. She also did my makeup. She really made me beautiful! My hair and make stayed put all night too. I like the friendly atmosphere and am always pleased when I take in a picture of a style I want to try and Kati nails it. We came here to get our hair done for my friend's wedding. We had 4 stylists dedicated to our party, so they were able to get all of our hair done very quickly! One stylist was dedicated to my friend (the bride) and her mother and mother-in-law. Everyone else was split up between stylists. We all loved our hair at the end. The styles looked great and all of the stylists were attentive to detail and made sure that we were all happy. The price was reasonable too (about $60/up-do).
