The service here is incredibly wonderful. I've been going here a few years now, always with the same stylist--Shay. Not only is she sweet, but she does her job well and with extreme caution in care. At one point, I went in for a regular trim and decided to shake it up with some bangs. I wasn't sure how they would look, in all honesty, but regardless Shay did layers of bangs to make sure she got everything even, and even style them in a way where I could have them going one way or the other, or even just normal. Not only that, all the stylists are professional and kind, and always double or even triple check what you want before they start working. They have a patience that exceeds even some of the mothers I know. I highly recommend this salon, it is worth your time and leaves you feeling like you're walking on air when you leave. read more

De Riah is my new favorite salon...specifically Chelsea!!! She is honestly, hands down the BEST hair stylist I've ever had! I originally went there because they sell my favorite brand, Oribe. I decided to get a very much needed color and cut. Why is Chelsea so awesome...let me count the ways: 1. She really knows her stuff! 2. She works with you to get the best color and cut 3. She's a realist when it comes to colors! If it isn't healthy for your hair she isn't going to do it! 4. Six weeks after my first color with her I literally had to get out the magnifying mirror to find my outgrowth!!!! 5. She's a visionary when it comes to hair cuts and style! 6. We went there using a groupon and was disappointed by the initial results. I called the manager who immediately set up an appointment to fix the problem. Owner is so unbelievably rude and disrespectful and don't take any ownership in their mistakes. One of their stylists Shae did an awful job. I went in with blonde highlights with some brass in my hair and wanted highlights throughout my hair. I told her I wanted them blonde as possible and bright. I knew they wouldn't be platinum that takes a while. When she finished I had orange highlights she didn't tone my hair properly either. I told them I wasn't happy with my service at all and they said they would try to fix it. I made an appointment obviously uncomfortable not wanting my hair ruined any further. I sent them an email of pictures of what my hair looked like before the service and what it looked like after and also what I had asked for. And that I would like a refund because of what had happened. I said I wasn't comfortable with the stylist doing my hair again. No response so I called and they treated me so awfully. Such attitude and disrespect was given to me. I was told that the pictures weren't good enough. And that I will not receive a refund because it's their "policy" they don't even have it listed anywhere. The owner said well it's a learning lesson for both of us I guess. Consistent argument between them so unprofessional. I asked to talk to the owner again and she refused. I went to a different stylist the day after to have my hair fixed because I wasn't going to work with orange hair and I went to impressions to have it fixed. And the owner was pissed about that. They said a phone call would have been nice and were so rude. Thankfully impressions in Mequon fixed my hair. I attached the photos of what I asked de riah to do in detail and what I ended up getting. My boyfriend has been going there for years and won't be returning. I was somewhat disapointed with De Riah. I bought a Groupon for a Shellac manicure and pedicure. When the woman (unfortunately I don't remember her name) realized I had already Shellac on my nails, she kind of got mad at me and told me there would be soak off fee, which I said was fine (a fee is normal, being rude or surprised about it isn't). The overall impression I got was that she was new or somewhat inexperienced because normal things seemed too much for her (like the soak off). She also told me I had many hang nails, and should buy a cuticle cream or put oil on it. In every other manicure I've had, they have taken care of that, so the quality of the manicure was also not the greatest. I don't think I'll be going back. I think they were overwhelmed by the Groupon and couldn't offer normal, quality service. read more

I just had my wedding this past weekend and my bridal party and I got our hair done at DeRiah. Everyone's hair looked absolutely amazing. Not one of the girls had anything negative say...and that's sometimes tough with a group of ladies ;) I didn't have a trial run, just went in with a couple pictures and let the stylist do her magic. I do not even know where to begin with my experience. This is the absolute WORST salon and experience I have ever had with my hair. Alex ripped out more of my hair than she revived... I went in for a "Malibu" treatment... & I put that in air quotes because it was not the treatment that I have come to know as a Malibu... not even close.They shouldn't advertise the treatment as a Malibu treatment, because this treatment was not authentic to the name. When she washed my hair she didn't use the proper technique most people learn in school, and when she dried it she rubbed the towel all in my hair and tangled it all.. and then tried untangling it with her fingers which ripped out my hair. The whole time in the wash chair I was thinking what the fuck is this women doing to my hair... when she put the treatment in my hair it was just as bad. When she got me back in her chair she didn't use any de-tangling product at all and just brushed my hair through with a normal brush and in the process ripped out more hair because she didn't use the proper technique for brushing wet hair either. Then as she tried to upsell me on products I have never even heard of while she threw of bunch of random products in my hair and sent me on my way...which by the way they charge like 20 bucks to blowdry your hair on top of the 25 I paid for this shitty service.. So I left with wet hair. I only tipped because I am not an asshole. I went home, rewashed my hair, reconditioned, and properly cared for it with my lovely products from UNITE. My hair felt worse than it did when I came in and after I took care of it at home, it felt like how my girl Sarah Donalds does it at her salon Vici Bayshore. I will never come back here again. Went there last Saturday because I was searching for somewhere local that sells my favorite hair products; oribe so I didn't have to wait for it to be mailed to me if I ordered online. Plus I wanted to be able to look at all the different products which is hard to do by looking at the computer. I went into the cedarburg location and was so happy with their selection of oribe products. On top of that the receptionist was so incredibly nice and helpful. She answered all my questions and even gave me her opinion on some of the products from oribe that she has used. I ended up buying the gold dust shampoo, the conditioner and the foundation mist. The receptionist even gave me a sample of one of the products I was curious about. I went there only with the intention of buying product but the salon is absolutely beautiful and I was so impressed with how nice and helpful the staff was that I scheduled an appointment for this week for the Mequon location. I can't wait to go back!!! And if you haven't tried oribe products then you my friend are surely missing out they are amazing!!!! read more

I'm looking for a new stylist and decided to give De Riah a try because the location is very convenient for me. I had a weird feeling over the phone when they were very aggressive about requesting my address (and again when I checked in) and in letting me know to bring cash because they don't allow tips on credit cards. (strange practice). I was even more shocked when I checked out and was informed that there is a $1.00 charge to pay by credit card (on my practically $150 service!) and that the rinse that my stylist had casually recommended and used was an extra $25. My haircut/color is ok. Not the best, not the worst. But the nickel and diming over service fees and tips is VERY unusual for a salon that charges these prices. I won't be going back. There's a lot of competition in the Mequon area that does not have these practices. It doesn't make you feel good about spending your hard earned money. read more

Purchased a Groupon for my wife. I hate to admit it but I am normally one of those guys that doesn't notice when his wife gets her hair cut or colored but this time I really noticed. By far one of the worse experiences she has ever had and she said on top of it all the staff was very rude. This place can only pretend to be professional as they are novices. I went in a few times for basic hair trims. Each time I requested same exact hair cut, just shorter (that is a trim). And somehow she cut my hair different each time! The last being the absolute worst! I have long hair and some pieces were cut only 2 inches on my crown. I looked like I had a bad version of a long mullet!! The only way it would have been understandable is if she was using drugs. Seriously. And the management was no help- don't go here!!!! read more
