Please listen to the negative reviews. There is a very real reason for them! NOTE: I started writing this review in August 2022, but I am posting it in September 2022. I am a bride who started engaging with Aysha for her bridal hair services during January this year. My wedding is in September, it is August now. Just a few days ago, Aysha upped her prices for her bridal services a month before my wedding, telling me that this reason is to honor "inflation." When I refused, telling her she needed to honor the contract I signed at the time of "booking" her, she claimed that contract was not real because she did not countersign it. She also told me explicitly that she could raise the prices as she pleased as it was her business. Lastly, she said if I was not comfortable with the upped charges, that she will find another artist of "lesser cost" to me. The thing is, I paid Aysha a Zelle deposit for 30% of the services at the time I "booked" her and signed the contract from my side. Although money was exchanged, she is somehow claiming this was not a real contract. Right after she did this to me, I took the night to properly evaluate my experiences with her - which were all really awful. She never responded to me on time. She belittled me when we spoke. She took advantage of my stress as a bride. The next morning, I chose to not proceed with her bridal hair services (after she increased the prices for "inflation"). Since she was alleging this contract was not valid, she has no case to keep my money. I called her to tell her this and to return my deposit, but she told me "she does not think she can return it," because "it is only a month away from the wedding date." (Tell me how ironic it is that she even attempted to argue that, considering SHE was the one originally threatening to cancel her services on me if I didn't agree to pay her more! And, imagine how I felt as THE BRIDE when she called to threaten the validity of her contract with me, one month before the wedding!!!) She then tried saying that she would consider honoring the original contract prices to avoid paying the deposit back to me, but I did not want a hair stylist who manipulated me that way... she broke my trust! She said she would call me back, but she did not. I tried calling her - she did not pick up. I emailed her documenting all the horrible things she did to me (she is extremely disorganized; she could not even remember which bride I was whenever she would finally respond), also using that email as a formal written notice to ask for my money back by that Friday, and she did not even respond. Even before she increased her prices to me, Aysha had always been flaky with me and sometimes took months before she responded to my emails and texts (this was true even after I paid her my deposit and thought we were booked). As a bride, every day can feel like a year when you are planning every detail out, so punctuality and accountability with your vendors is critical. I learned I was not the only bride who experienced this, but I learned too late. Some girl who I know personally also experienced an extremely similar case, but she did not speak up because she thought it would not change anything. I only found out by expressing my angst to a friend that many other brides were in the same boat as me. It appears there are others even on Yelp who also went through what I did. I beg of all brides who experienced the same things as us - please do your part and LEAVE AN HONEST REVIEW! So if she is that bad, why all the positive reviews, you ask? In my opinion, I think this is because Aysha knows how to charm people. Even after telling me she was increasing the prices, which is completely unacceptable given the pretense of a contract we had, she somehow played the victim card by saying she shouldn't have booked a bride who couldn't honor her "high prices." I was perfectly willing to pay the amount we agreed to in writing, but somehow she was repainting the narrative. It's very manipulative behavior! When she raises her prices shortly before a bride's wedding, the bride will likely just pay it to make sure the booking still is valid. Unfortunately for Aysha, I am not that kind of a bride, and I am going to take every appropriate, legal action I can to get my money back and spread the truth. If you are a bride, please - don't end up in my shoes. Listen to the reviews, do your research, and pick someone reliable. It's your special day! Please, pick someone deserving to do your hair. I booked Aysha for my mehndi, walima, wedding, engagement as well as my graduation! She did a phenomenal job on everything. She arrived promptly to my house all times and it was so nice that she travels as I was able to comfortably get ready in my own home. For my wedding, I requested her to do a hair trial since I was really indecisive about the hair style I wanted. I had about 7 different styles ranging from up-do's to curls to just about everything else. She took the time to explain my options to me as well as letting me know what she recommended. Everyone should 100% do a hair trial especially since the looks on someone else may look different on you. Also a hair trial is the perfect time to figure out how you want your jewelry and dupatta setting. There is a million ways to do your dupatta and depending on your outfit you'll also be able to tell what's the most comfortable option for you. Also if you're on the fence about having Aysha do your dupatta and jewelry setting there is no doubt that you should. I thought I could do it myself but there's so much thought and work involved, and she made the process look effortless. It's also less stress for you on the big day. For my mehdi look she recommended I add flowers to my hair and it was just what the look needed. For my wedding, she did my hair in the traditional high bun. She added some flowers to the bun which showed through my dupatta and it looked gorgeous! Not only did she do my hair but I invited her to my wedding. She came up to the bridal suite, where I was having a melt down from my florist forgetting my bouquet. She overheard what was going on, told me give me 20 minutes and came back with 2 dozen roses, a hot glue gun and crystals and put together a bouquet for me...It was so uncalled for and I was so shocked. I was not able to thank her enough for saving the day. For my walima, she did my hair perfectly in loose curls and then during my photoshoot....it started to rain! My hair looked a horrible mess! I immediately called her and she stayed longer until I was able to return home and have her fix it! I have no idea what I would have done without her. Both times she was single handedly able to save my wedding. Her quality of work is A M A Z I N G. She will not stop doing your hair until you are 100% satisfied. She did my hair for my bridal party and my mom HATES having her hair teased but she made sure the process would be quick and painless. My hair looked wonderful in my dupatta. My shadi and walima outfits were 10-15 pounds each and she pinned my dupatta so comfortably, it really helped to take some of the weight off. Needless to say, finding someone I could trust to do my hair for the wedding day could have been a complete nightmare. I needed the following: 1) An amazing stylist who could TRAVEL to my hotel 2) Work with thin long hair and make it look full 3) Attach the dupatta on top of my head without flattening my hair Thank god my make up artist referred me to Aysha, a phenomenal and talented hair stylist with attention to detail. Add that to the fact that she is so caring and friendly, I couldn't have asked for anyone better. I live in NY and had never met Aysha until the day of my wedding. We discussed the details of look I wanted over the phone and she asked me to send her a picture of my hair. Since my hair is thin, Aysha needed to add extensions. She didn't want to determine the exact shade of my hair from just a picture, so she advised me to go to a local Sally's Beauty to get my hair color code. I know nothing about extensions or that hair bun they put on top of your head to support the heavy dupatta. I was worried about all this and had no idea what fake hair I was supposed to buy to get my look, but Aysha was able to take all the stress away and took care of everything. BEWARE! It is a scam!! She cancelled my wedding hair appointment a week before my wedding and did not make any explanations or anything, even if we signed a contract and my deposit checked was mailed to her. She just sent me an email a week before saying that she is cancelling the appointment. Then I said I wanted to talk to her cuz I thought i needed an explanation. Then she suggested her partner Gayatri Kalia. I immediately called Gayatri (cuz did not have that much option a week before my wedding). She ended up asking more money than Aysha (apparently trying to take advantage of my situation). Then I told her I don't want to pay more than what Aysha asked for. She giggled and said 'Oh I think that's why Aysha cancelled her appointment with you.'. Aysha and her friend were very very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! And also trying to take advantage of you!! Also, when we signed the contract, I mailed her a check for the deposit she asked from me. She cancelled the appointment when my check was on the way to her. Luckily the bank cancelled the check and put Aysha's name on a list (i guess it is like a scam list for the banks). Think twice if you want to get an appointment from Aysha. It can be cancelled any minute without any reason and you have to deal with all the hassles right before your wedding.. Also do not think her contract means anything. This story is a warning about the biggest scam artist, please if you want to have a peaceful party do not book her. Aysha was booked to do hair for a bridal party. She began to run low on time and still had 2 more girls to complete. She started with one of the girls and then rushed to make the hairstyle work in less than 20 minutes since the girl still had her makeup left to do. She told her "don't worry go do your makeup and we will finish the hair afterwards" with the whole bridal party as witnesses. Eventually when the girl came back to finish her hair Aysha had already left without informing the wedding coordinators and had only stopped to collect her money from the family. She was called on her phone while she was on the way to another client and said "I already finished the hairstyle I don't know what you're talking about" and when confronted about the fact that she had not she said "I'm driving now and I feel unsafe speaking on the phone, I will give you a call back" and immediately hung up the phone. Needless to say, she never called back, no-one ever heard from her, and the whole bridal party was shocked about what happened. This woman was paid to do a job that she never completed. She is unprofessional, disrespectful, dishonest, and completely untrustworthy. Please don't do through the trouble of booking her as the girls who did have their hair completed looked mediocre at best. Aysha is an incredibly experienced hairstylist who did an amazing job with my hair on my wedding day. It was exactly how I hoped it would turn out-- she did romantic, loose curls that cascaded very naturally, were slightly pinned back, and held through the end of the last song at our reception without any touch-ups! I met Aysha first during the trial at her house! From that trial I knew I wanted her to do my hair and dupatta for my wedding! Aysha was such a lovely person to have around during my wedding day! Being as stressful as it is, it's awesome having a fun person around to lighten the stress! She got along with my entire family and most importantly, she did an amazing job!
