She keeps a file card on us so she knows what we want (unless we want to divert to something different) so there's no chit chat about what I want. I found Marysa via Yelp because she had such high reviews, and for good reason too. Marysa is a joy to talk to and understands what you desire. She lets you know what she is capable of and suggests what would be best for different hair types. She did try to convince me to get highlights, as most of her regulars do, but I was very vocal on my opposition, which she understood. The end result left me feeling BEAUTIFUL! I usually plan ahead and call Rattiya for my appointment but during this past weekend, I really needed and an emergency haircut and happen to be in the area, She was very busy and luckily could squeeze me in but with a wait of course. I observed 2 more customers walking in but she couldn't take them, she had a color in process along with with men's haircut. Her prices varies. For ex. when I had my color retouch and haircut last month my total was $125. She did mention her prices were going up. For men's haircut it is $20. Rattiya is located on Maunakea Street, ( between Wing Ice ream and flower shop) her little shop is so organized & clean, she has about 3 salon chairs, only Rattiya does it all, she does not have a assistant. Anjalee knows her stuff and is incredible especially when it comes to blonde highlights/ombré/melts. I have naturally dark hair but got cool blonde ombré that looks really natural because the transition is gradual and when it grows out it looks even better which means I can go months in between visits. She messaged me to confirm appointment and gave directions on where salon is and where to park. I walked so I didn't park BUT I was the first appointment in the salon and I was there from 9-2:30 and I overheard a few people say that they couldn't find parking but it looked like they had ample parking I opted in for a balayage and hair cut. I was torn between going dark or going light but I went light so it took a few hours or so. Do your research ladies on hair colors and styles you like, it will help a lot! Anjalee addressed all my questions and concerns from color, how to maintain it, what shampoo and conditioner to use. Has a very welcoming personality and easy to talk to! In my personal experience in researching a hair stylist on island, price was a huge factor for me. Anjalee will give you a quote if you are able to provide to her what you are trying to achieve. Though it hurt to spend what I did (saving for a wedding so money is tight!) it was worth it. I felt like a VIP type of client in this type of setting. I showed her a picture of what I had in mind- to which she was able to recreate on my hairstyle. She did advise me in styling and maintenance of my hairstyle. She does upkeep with style trends by doing continuing education. This is crucial to keep up with the different styles and cater to the needs of later generations. So, yes, I do recommend Anna for your hairstyle needs.

It was super easy to make an appointment and she's pretty flexible with her days and times. The salon is on dillingham above a physician's office so I would schedule when they are not open. The salon itself is clean and has a nice ambiance, I did not feel out of place while hanging out on their couch waiting for my turn. Shana did an amazing job on my hair. I had a party later on that evening that I attended and I got many compliments. My scalp didn't burn and my hair actually smelled really good after getting colored. Only downside is the parking is pretty tuff and hard to get it if sometimes. It's kinda small and tight. One time I had to drive around the block a couple times because it was full.
