As soon as a stylist became available (Jazlyn) she warmly greeted us & started my daughter's experience. I could overhear the casual conversation, friendly & kind. My gal got with me shortly thereafter (Kordel), got me situated, talked about styles, etc. Having my hair washed by others is always something I've enjoyed. This didn't disappoint & wasn't rushed! The styling was fast (IMO considering my hair is pretty thick) & conversation flowed. Both gals were friendly but not over talkative. It was a relaxing experience! Will we be back? Absolutely. What I enjoyed: The therapists were very professional and respectful of our preferences. They sent a questionnaire ahead of time to understand what we wanted, and when I emailed with some additional requests, they were able to accommodate everything, which I really appreciated. The massage room itself was beautiful, with a big bathtub for a coconut bath after the treatment and its own bathroom. The amenities were great too: snacks, drinks, fruits, a dry sauna, steam sauna, and a waiting lounge overlooking the ocean with lay-down chairs. The lounge wasn't busy at all, and you could easily spend an hour there relaxing. Booking was easy via email and the staff was very responsive. Valet parking is included. What could've been better: The jacuzzi was out of order during our visit, and I wasn't informed ahead of time. I had to ask for a prorated rate, and the person checking us out initially didn't want to give the discount until their manager stepped in. For a big hotel-affiliated spa, I expected better communication and consistency on something like this. The showers also ran out of bath products (either shampoo or body wash), and the locker area was missing some amenities I'd expect at this price point, like makeup remover and skincare beyond generic body lotion. I also had trouble getting a receipt with my name on it initially, though they eventually sent one. One other thing to note: the spa is right above the hotel beach and pool area, so you can hear people rather than just ocean waves or spa music. It didn't bother me too much, but it's something to be aware of if you're expecting total tranquility. Despite these issues, it was still a wonderful experience and I'd recommend it for a special occasion!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The price was reasonable, it was super easy to book online, and the stylist who did my hair years ago wasn't there anymore. My appointment was first thing in the morning, which was great because there was no wait. Chico was assigned to do my hair, and she took the time to ask what I wanted, my preferences, and how I usually take care of my hair. I really liked her thoughtful and careful approach. After a gentle shampoo, she cut, blow-dried, and curled my hair outward--it turned out beautifully! The length was exactly what I asked for, and the soft curls were the cherry on top. I'll definitely be coming back and asking for Chico again (as long as our schedules line up). So glad I decided to give this place another chance!

Morning of Saturday, RoseMary was there bright and early and ready to see what I had in mind. I showed her a few inspo pictures but also was open to her taking the lead on her creative side when it came to braids and placement of hair. The end result was perfect - the plumeria she added as a finishing touch to the updo really made it extra special and the volume made it look like I had more hair! Her years of experience and personable spirit truly made me feel welcome and loved how my hair turned out. The next day at church I got a few compliments on my hair as well! Felt like a lady haha The salon itself is within the parking garage. Follow the signs from the street and walk near the entrance of the garage to which you'll find the salon in the breezeway. In fact, he barely straighten it to the point where I had to straighten her whole hair when I got back to the room. And the haircut... could have been a lot better. This Kahala Drybar is located in Kū'ono Marketplace which is a new shopping complex right across Kahala Mall and with lots of free parking it's so easy to drive up to your appointment which is so easily done online or through their app. I love their dry styling and if you need some inspiration they do have a book for you to look at and along with their products even with my hair that rarely hold curls keeps it for days and makes my life that much more prettier with ease.
