I had an appointment there with Elin to which I was 5 minutes early. Two other clients were late (one receiving highlights. I was just there for wash and set with a cut to my ends. If a client is late they shouldn't be accommodated to the point you totally inconvenience the people who are on time. She could have easily washed and set my hair and put me under the dryer and continued her day. But she chose to ask me to wait. I sat there about 20 minutes. She could have advised me upon my arrival. I'm not a regular client but little does she know I was going to be. She lost out. I would rather go to New York and spend my money! And I will!! read more

I didn't want to write a bad review. But I'm sorry. It's unacceptable what happened. I asked for full highlights. I know my hair is naturally black and I've had it bleached so many times and they were able to get it blonde on the first shot. I went in with two inches of black roots and a nice cool blonde. Please see before pictures and the after pictures. I don't have anything bad to say about joffre. He was nice, but I can't believe I was allowed to leave the salon with my hair the way I did. He insisted that there was no possible way that my hair could have gotten lighter in one shot. It's not even just that. But you can see in the pictures the blotch job. He told me that I could come back and pay again to have it done again with an added treatment... I'm sorry, but it's just not acceptable. Not sure where to begin. I gave this place a chance since I just move to Manassas and can't go to my regular salon up North. I read a few good reviews so I thought why not give it a shot. I am the type of person who ask for prices first and very frugal. But if you give me great suggestions on what works great with my hair I am also the type who spends crazy amount with my hair. I have been getting gel manicures for almost 5 years now and have never experienced such a bad manicure before. I highly doubt that the woman was licensed since it seemed she had no idea was she was doing during the polish removal. She ruined my nails by scraping them so hard and trying to pull old tips off with her own fingernails. I didn't let them cut my cuticles because she just brought over the tools without being in sanitizing packaging as most nail salons do. The lady also told me that they didn't do almond which is odd but fine. She tried to do almond anyway but I had to correct my one hand while she was gone it was so bad. They have extremely limited color options but they are pretty colors to choose from. I don't plan on going back there. I would recommend going to an actual nail salon such as US Nails. read more

I got a keratin treatment here because I found a Groupon for this hair salon that allowed me to get it at an affordable price. I have had many keratin treatments before and I think Joffre did a great job with my hair. The reason I gave 3 stars was because once sitting me down he told me the Groupon was only for people with short hair and that since my hair is long (I have thin hair not even past my shoulder blades) I was going to be charged an extra $30. This caught me off guard since no where on the Groupon it said this is only for short hair. I would understand if my hair was down to my butt but not even past my shoulder blades shouldn't require the price to change. I sat down in the chair, he did all my roots, washed out the color and then decided to tell me he was going to charge me another $50 because of the length of my hair (My hair is not very long). This should have been disclosed long before this point. Like when I first sat down. The keratin treatment that was put in, is already coming out, despite being told it would last 4 months. I had scheduled a morning appointment with Telsy a week in advance. I text her to let her know I was running 5 minutes late. She called and said she forgot to schedule my appointment. I told her I was almost there and drove 40 mins one way. She asked if I could come back later in the day. I said no I'll be there in a few mins. The call cut off and she text me asking me to come 1 hr and 15 mins later. At that point I was already there and walking in. Once again she asked me to come back later in the evening. I explained to her again it was her mistake and I drove 40 mins one way. Asking me to come back hours later is unacceptable and I had been coming to her for over a year. That is no way to treat a loyal customer. She was not willing to compromise and offer a better solution. All I was getting was an edge up that would take no more than 15 mins. Finally she asked if I could wait 30 mins then she could take me. 2.5 weeks later I text her to schedule an appointment. She did not reply. She normal replies within minutes. I text her the next day. When she didn't reply within an hour I called the salon. The owner answered and was not in the salon he said to try her cell. I explained I text her twice and she didn't reply. I called her from a different # because I had a feeling she was avoiding me. And I was right. I couldn't here her on the call and ask her to text me what she was saying. She text and said the last time was not a good experience and she could not provide me service anymore. She's right it was a bad experience for me a paying and loyal customer for over a year. She's very unprofessional to say the least. Avoiding my text proves it. She could have responded to my 1st message instead of avoiding me and wasting my time. The majority of her customers are Hispanic and so is she. I've only seen 1 other African American besides myself. I hope it's a language barrier and not race related. read more

I think this place did a great job on my hair, but I was suckered into thinking I got a deal from Living Social. They are advertising $125.00 for ombré hair, but that includes nothing, just the style... I've never known an establishment to charge a patron for an "ombré" style instead of charges based on dye, single or double processing, cut, etc. Honestly I rented a Car2Go to come here, and I could have paid the same amount by staying in the DC area. If you paid $125.00 through LivingSocial to get an ombré, it wouldn't happen unless you decided to spend more. Therefore, this is false advertising. read more
