I have been searching for a salon and stylist that truly cares about the health of your hair and who knows how to cut hair properly. Most salons CANNOT cut hair professionally even though they charge you for said "professional cut." Angela will give you an outstanding cut. I firmly believe that my hair grew faster and healthier because of it. My hair was so damaged, tangled and breaking off from hormones and stress. Angela was so sweet and extremely informative about hair health and products. She has a pleasant and gentle energy that transfers to how she handles the service that you're getting. She is honest and gives you all the information regarding your hair as well as how to take care of it "after" the appointment. Every single time I go to Angela my hair looks and feels so healthy, shiny and gorgeous. My scalp feels clean and my my hair has so much body. Hair Tease Studio (and Roberta specifically) saved my hair!…read more I'm new to Jacksonville from Los Angeles, and any woman knows that finding a person you trust to do your hair is challenging. Once you find someone good, you tend to stay for life. Thanks to Hair Tease putting a Groupon offer up in the area, I found Roberta. I looked up Google, FB, Groupon and Yelp reviews (all great reviews) and decided to try them out. Prices were reasonable, location close enough to me, with easy parking. And the great reviews were spot on, especially the previous yelp one about the rescue of the blonde! Oh my - Roberta - The woman can do hair! I needed someone to rescue my blonde highlights from the harsh beach salt air and harsh mineral Jax water. Roberta takes time to evaluate and set up a treatment plan for your hair. And it's worth it! (See my pic) It was one of my first ventures outside the house as the pandemic became more manageable in Jax. This quaint, woman-owned salon is a gem hidden inside a tucked away strip mall off Beach. It's sweetly decorated with antique mirrors and frames and reposed furniture (thanks again to Roberta's great eye for decor and talent for furniture painting). There are 4-5 stylists not all in on the same days/hours, and each works independently. They have coffee and water and southern hospitality. Roberta also sells great salon hair products at low to no mark up. She also adapted her schedule to accommodate my schedule between her fishing trips. She's funny as hell with her wisdom, sayings, and local tips. I even found a wonderful dentist and landscape / garden supply thanks to her recommendations. I've been to her regularly over the last year and she is consistent, pampers your hair, shares her wisdom of biscuits, local Jax, plants and landscaping (her original career) with kindness and generosity. I've even discovered she cares for her long term elderly clients with dignity- honoring their restricted budget with reasonable prices and helping them feel beautifully quaffed. So sweet. Needless to say, I highly recommend Hair Tease Studio!

I'm in the middle of a house remodel so it was crazy trying to find time to let Riley know. I finally sent her text and pics about 10 days later. She got me in Friday and tried to redo that area and was going to send me out with a wet head!? I didn't come in with a wet head why would I leave with one. You missed a vital area on my hair. So they asked if I was getting blow dried!? Well, yuhhh since I came in with dried hair. So this is irritating because as a salon why would you not want your client leave looking great than with a wet head of hair. So much to my dismay one girl started blow drying me because my stylist had a haircut in the chair. So then the girl who started had to get to her client. Then another did partial and had to get back to her client. Then Riley 20 min later semi finished my hair dried. I get to the front to pay for an $18 brow wax and I'm told $40 for my blow dry!! ?? WOW... just WOW! And notice the brown streak still in my hair!

When I tell salons what happened, they don't even know who she did what she did or how it made sense to her. I think she works at the beach now (a previous coworker from one of the salons she's hopped between) informed me & only knew bc so many complaints came in about her. Be careful about April. She will ruin your hair! Oh, and 2 days after this happened to me, I showed a friend, and what are the odds that she did the EXACT same thing to her as well!!! If I knew she would be going to April for her hair, I would've warned her! She left with ORANGE HAIR instead of highlights. STEER CLEAR OF THIS LADY! 1.5 years later: still fixing the damage!!! Brazilian blowouts, deep conditioning treatments, constant trims bc she fried my hair and it constantly breaks off, and getting my hair colored and toned to cover and even out the leopard print orange hair she gave me! My hair was so unevenly cut, and does not grow quickly, so before it can grow, it dies. I am now stuck with shoulder length hair, unless it can magically grow faster than it dies. Hard to do when someone pours bleach on your head and damages it all! Oh, and I found out 2 days later she did this to a friend of mine as well. Certain it's intentional at this point, bc she then charges you to repair it. She wants you to pay to "fill in the spots with color and then tone it." What a joke she is! Oh, and she's working at a salon at the beach now. So be careful of April's at the beach, it could be her. A former coworker did my hair, and knew it was her, once I explained why my hair is in this condition. She apparently did this to several clients and was then fired. She's bounced between multiple salons doing this.
