I was a customer here for several years and started working with Adam as a stylist. I was horrified to realize that he doesn't clean the brushes he uses between clients except once a day. When I confronted him about this he got angry. I asked about lice/disease and he responded that if they find lice they ask a customer to leave. He said no one in the salon cleans the brushes between clients, except once a day they wash them with water (not even disinfectant). He started combing my hair so roughly I needed to get up and leave. This is an expensive salon....you would think they could afford clean brushes... read more

Jena has been cutting my hair since 2019 and always does an incredible job. She's great with long hair/long layers and does the blow dry herself (I've been to other salons where they pass you off to an assistant) The salon is always clean and on time. The only downside is the price of the same haircut has gone up $30 since I first started going there but I'd rather pay more and know I'm getting a good cut than go somewhere else. Been going here off and on for 1 year also used jr hairstyles cost is less !!never had a problem but today ( New Year's Eve) the same styles I used the week before for blowout and who I told I like my hair a little different never told me it was going to cost $10 more !!! What an incredible experience. I had a blow out done by Jovi. First, He washed my hair himself and gave an amazing scalp massage- I didn't want it to end! For my blow out, he used Oribe products (my favorite) which smelled incredible. With a blow dryer and just one round brush, he turned my hair into a voluminous masterpiece with the perfect amount of twist/curl at the ends- the kind of look most people need a curling iron or curling wand with. This place is a GEM. I wish there was a 6th star! They have incredible an incredible color magician Harley! and they have a Curly hair composer Paola! I moved to Boca and tried a few stylists. I have found them to be the best. Harley is an internationally known, award winning colorist. Paola is top of her game and can do any kind of hair. There are many others there with talent. I have always found the staff polite, helpful and they confirm appointments via text and/ or email which I appreciate so much! Even the owner comes around to make sure all is going well. I didn't mind driving all the way up to Delray because Hair by Scott is a Bumble and Bumble salon... and some of their staff is trained by B&B in NYC. I like the guy who cuts my hair and the woman who colored my hair however she was recently fired. And when I asked the front desk, they won't give you any information, but what is worse is the woman at the desk begins to yell at me. I was told in no uncertain terms that they have all the formulas (although I gave them my formula). It wasn't so much as what she said as how the message was delivered and the tone of voice. As an expatriate of New York I know when someone is crass, bossy and rude. I am then told I can have an appointment with my old stylist's assistant for the same amount of money I was paying a full fledge stylist with years of experience. An assistant who is a junior stylist at best has different rates, at least they do in every other B&B salon or any other hair salon I have been to including Red Door. So I let the phone call go because who needs to be yelled at and spoken to rudely. Not me. I call back to leave a message for the owner because I want to speak with him about this front desk woman who talks to a client in this manner. And she calls me back... I learn that her name is Michelle (office manager) who was rude to me. I don't want to talk with her I want to speak with the owner Scott. So I call again and leave a message and again this rude woman calls me and demands to know why I want to talk with Scott. So I tell her. I tell her that she is rude, crass and bossy and that is not the way to talk to clients. I never heard back from Scott so I figure he never got the message or if he did she must be related because most businesses would never put up with her. All I can say to Scott is train your front desk employees better since they are the first contact with your customer base and when someone calls to voice a complaint you should return the phone call. And if Michelle is your mother she should gracefully retire or go to charm school. How's that for a New York minute!!! read more

I have never written a negative review but I feel compelled to. I have been using Linda for my color for awhile now. I went the last time telling her she finally got it right. Then she ruined my hair. I was there for a highlight/lowlight coloring. She didn't tone the hair after she removed the foils she put it on with the foils still on thus resulting I hair left with no color just streak of white gray running in strips throughout my hair and head. She tried to fix it the next day by Coloring and then leaving the toner on for 5 more minutes. A very expensive procedure but what I got was stripped dry overprocees straw like hair and the rude front dealing trying to convince me it looked great. they wouldn't even own up to this disaster. And Scott was a coward not stepping in and taking charge, really I had to spend $350 to fixed their mistake read more

Honestly I just ended up with the worst haircut of my life. I showed a picture of myself with the exact length I wanted my hair. I walked out with hair 4 inches shorter than what I wanted. My hair is barely below my shoulder and the angles they cut into my hair look horrific. Nothing about the haircut was what I wanted. Robert took "creative" liberty and did what he wanted to my hair. Immediately after the first cut I asked where on my back the hair was. Without showing me used his finger to draw on my back where the hair was. Mind you, where he used his finger to draw a line was 4 inches longer than where my hair actually was. He was a junior stylist and had I known that I would've waited for an senior stylist. I will be wearing my hair up for the next month until it hopefully grows back in. read more

This is my only review on Yelp and has taken me a while to write as it was so draining and upsetting of an experience. I am a performer, and my appearance is part of my art AND livelihood. This also happened just before a very important audition I have included in my profile the way I originally had my hair, the dye job that was given to me, and of a screenshot Scott's reply to my dismay. I went to this salon because my boss had a friend that worked there, and I was to take her kids in for a hair cut. They told me they wanted to use me as a hair model to teach one of the students, so I would get a free hair cut but needed to get it colored by a junior sylist. This would cost me $50, which they claimed to be half price. My dark brown hair had been painstakingly bleached platinum to allow for a lavender hue. It was a long expensive process but it was what I wanted, and I was soooo happy with it. It was time to touch up my roots, so I went with it, and I needed a good cut as the last girl that had given me a cut had done a horrible job I came in to get it bleached, and she did not have time to do the purple color, so I was set to come back another day and go around blonde. I noticed when I got home that the colorist, Bridgette, had not lifted my roots to the same platinum color the rest of my hair was. I expressed my concern that it would be uneven, and she lazily replied it wouldn't matter with the lavender over it, and that it would be bleached over with the the next touch up of regrowth. I should have pressed the issue further. She proceded to put the purple dye on, didn't let me see it after washing it out, then put another layer on my roots since it obviously did not pick up (because it wasn't bleached enough! elementary color knowledge would predict this). The overalll color was WAAAAAY darker than I wanted, but I was understanding, considering it would fade. She proclaimed while blow drying that it looked like "an ombre" but when I got home, I looked at my roots and there were three different stripes of color, one from where she didn't bleach my roots, and overlap line from where she had to recolor my roots, and then the rest of the grape purple color. I was devastated. Instead of calling the salon and complaining directly to management, I took to facebook since she was an acquaintance of my boss. I expressed my discontent, and also my offense at her lying and telling me it looked like an ombre, when it was an obvious mess up. I sent a photo of my roots to her in case she forgot what she had done to me. She wrote me back NOT to apologize, but to say she would speak to Scott on Monday (this was Saturday) I was livid. I sent a letter to Scott explaining what happened with photos, and his reply was VERBATIM "Hi Angie. Spoke to Brigitte about the color.. She said she recommended take home products to keep the color vibrant and not to strip it out. She said you did not buy.. Therefore, we can not be responsible for the color. Sorry!" I HAD NOT EVEN WASHED IT YET! AND A FADED COLOR WAS CLEARLY NOT THE ISSUE. I OUTLINED MY ISSUES ELOQUENTLY IN MY LETTER! aaaaand, not that it would have mattered, but said NOTHING about take home products. I'm sure she wanted to get me out of there ASAP. I replied back that his answer was prepsterous, and he ignored it. I have not been able to fix my hair because of what she did to it, and I have to settle for a different style because of the stripes in my hair. She completely destroyed my perfect base I worked so hard on. AND SHE NEVER APOLOGIZED which is WHY I decided to use her name in my review. She also did some other things in the conflict that were unapologetic that I'm not even getting into. I didn't get my money back AND I gave her a great tip before I saw what she did to me. I have photos of the color job, along with screen shots of this letter he sent me if anyone doubts this horrendous tale of bad coloring and worse customer service happened. Everyone in the business that has heard my story and has heard of Scott Aronesty and is not surprised. Apparently he is famous for being a douche bag. read more

Literally, Harley won 1st place for color in the world with one of the hair color companies. We joke together because she colors my hair with such fantastic skill that my hair looks like a Barbie Doll. The head and neck massages are amazing when they wash your hair. Reviewing a hair salon is difficult. An experience is as good as the particular stylist. And, it is subjective. For a good stylist, most of us would put up with anything and, be happy about it. For the sake of location, I decided to give this place a chance. They don't wax eyebrows. This is odd for a high end shop...but, uh..okay. The receptionist had a hard time coordinating extensions and, color. It was a bit of a red flag. Making an appointment for extensions and, color is usually a quick and, simple phone call. But the receptionist was sweet and, called back with a time they could do my color and, cut at the same time. I had to reschedule my appointment, after all of that. I showed up at 9am. The new appointment was at 12:30. This could have been my error. The receptionist at the desk was pretty rude about me showing up early. Maybe she was just tired...it was early. So, I smiled and, said I would come back. Then, I got a call asking me to come in earlier. They had cancellations. So, I went in. But there was a two hour gap between my cut and, color. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal. I'd just go to the coffee shop next door to wait. But, on this day, I didn't have the time. So, I ran my errands and, went back at 12:30. All of these odd red flags, I just brushed off and, hoped for a good stylist. The stylist talked to me about what I wanted and, seemed to be clueless about extensions. I've been getting extensions for the last ten years. As much as I travel, this involves different shops, in different states. I was a little uncomfortable and, the more he talked and, looked baffled and, gave me odd answers to standard questions, I just left. They probably have some great stylists there. But, they are so unorganized. To spend that kind of money, I'd expect someone with a little more confidence in the service he was booked to provide. read more

Honestly, I had a great experience at Scott & Co and am about to go again. I went there because of a bumble & bumble gift card that I had and decided to give them a shot (in spite of what's seen below) and everyone was very professional and kind. I was even a bit late but they understood that I was new to town and easily accommodated me- something I doubt a rude, horrible salon would do! Lane blow-dried my hair and was fantastic! I have never been treated so rudely by anyone in my whole life!!!!!! I brought my 4 year old son there for a haircut because my husband went there and had a great haircut by John, who only does men's hair. Well my son had very long hair, and needed a real "big boy" haircut. After waiting for over 25 minutes for my appt. we were taken back to the hair washing station, well my son did not like that, he likes when they squirt his hair with the bottle. But no temper tantrum by any means. After that the owner approached me and very rudely told me that there are places that cut kids hair. I did not want to go there, he needed a real pro haircut, anyway, I aksed if he was telling me to leave. Bluntly he told me yes, that my son would never sit through a haircut. Thats funny, he has had over a dozen haircuts, and has been fine for every single one of them. In general I would say that Scott and CO is MISERABLE, not one person cracked a smile the whole time I was there. They are all rude, and can't believe a place like that stays in business. read more

Went there for the first time. I had an appointment with Merico (sp?) . When I was met by the by the person at the appointment desk I was told that it may be a 10-15 minute wait. No problem for me but after a minute or so a hairdresser came up to me and said my hairdresser was running real late and wouldn't make the appointment. That was it!!! Since I spent over $1500 on various hair treatments this month alone I expected better customer service when paying premium prices . However, Barry and Elizabeth the front desk help act like bratty twelve year olds . Very rude , very unprofessional ,nothing short of difficult for no good reason . I went to Scott and Co for a color and after having 3 bad color jobs here in South Florida (I recently moved here from Phoenix and didn't now where or who I should go to) I found that Vivian was really a color expert. She really listened to me and gave me beautiful blond highlights. It looked natural and was definitely by far the best color I have gotten in FL. I will definitely return to Vivian and really hope that she will be my long term colorist. I really loved the atmosphere here at Scott and Co and will definitely be back for sure! I was extremely disappointed in what I thought was a very good quality hair salon. I wanted to get my hair colored at the ends, much like the way a lot of the VS models had this year. Instead my hair was done in a complete rush and barely any effort. The women who did my hair was more focused about gossiping about the other employees and ignoring me then actually doing my hair. The outcome was horrible, I was amazed they even let me walk out of the salon. One half of my hair had been bleached way more then the other half was. There was zero blending between the dye and my natural hair, my whole head was covered in horizontal lines. I didn't fully realize the damage that was done because I was in a rush for a doctors appointment. When I got home an hour later I called the salon back very upset and asked if they would fix it today, they then replied they didn't they think anything was wrong but I can come in the next day at 9 pm before it closed. And i almost forgot they did not even offer a refund. I wouldn't recommend going to a place. read more

This place was recommended by someone at Goldwell itself, and I had faith that the color would be a perfect coppery auburn. I even brought the formula, kindly shared by my colorist who's too far away. Even with the right numbers in front of her, the colorist managed to produce the effect of a redwood tree, dark reddish brown, patched with an assortment of Crayola shades. They like to sit you under a heat lamp for 1/2 hour, so the color can really bake in -- and you're nice and crisp when you leave. This expensive experience was the most unpleasant salon visit I've ever had, and writing a scathing letter to Scott didn't produce any effort to right the wrong done to my once-lovely hair. Took months to get it reversed! DON'T GO!! read more

I've known about Scott and Company for at least 20 years. I know that he only hires the best of the best and is extremely critical of his training and who he has working in his salon. I use Lynn for my color and she knocked it out of the ballpark yesterday. I wanted hair exactly like hers, a copper ombre, and when I left, we were twinning. I have never been as satisfied and happy with hair color as I was yesterday. As far as haircuts go, Nina is top-notch. She is the only person to cut my hair where I have not picked up a pair of scissors when I've gotten home. She nailed it last time. I have been through many of the Stylists and colorists at the salon, but I think I finally found my dream team in Lynn and Nina. Both are low-key, down-to-earth, and seem to not involve themselves in whatever drama is going on there. However, I must be honest and say I loved the old salon so much better. There are a lot of design flaws with the new salon such as there are no mirrors for the customers at the color stations. The music is blasting over the hair washing bowls which makes for a stressful, not relaxing time when washing your hair. It does seem a lot more crowded in the salon and more closed in. The prices are quite expensive for the services, probably one of the highest in Florida. And while I am satisfied for the most part when I leave I think the owner, Scott, could make himself a little more available, friendlier, and show more appreciation in person to the customers each and everyone. It would be nice if he walked around the salon and introduced himself, or said hello to his repeat customers, and made us feel welcome and appreciated. He does none of that from which I can see. And I have known him for 20 plus years as I said. For this reason and the reason of the new design of the salon, I am strongly considering finding a salon closer to where I live instead of driving 40 minutes. read more

Today I experienced the worst customer service of my life. My sister had won a $200 gift card in a silent auction to Scott's, and never got around to using it. As today was the day it was going to expire, she gave it to me. I called last night to make sure I could still use the gift card since today was the expiration date listed. The receptionist Jill said it was fine and made me and a friend two appointments for pedicures. Upon my arrival I was told they no longer accept the gift card and that it was provided by beautymag, with whom they were no longer working with. I told Barry I had no way of knowing this and all I saw was their company name listed at the top (hair by Scott and co) in which she responded "yea, I can read". I explained to her that we drove an hour for these appointments in which she then responded "really, you drove an hour just for pedis". She finally agreed to honor the gift card. I asked for just a polish change to match with my pedicure, I had just gotten a fill a week ago, I just wanted a polish change. She told me I would have to pay for that even though my gift card was for $200!!!!! Pedicure was rushed and we were treated like they didn't want us there. They didn't even let us sit to dry and immediately smudged after we left. Worst pedicure of my life, immediately drove to my usual salon and paid to have what they did fixed and my polish changed to match. I hope they see this and learn what customer service is. I've been warning all my friends since. If they're going to donate a gift card to a charitable cause for a silent auction they should have the decency to at least honor it. Very tacky. read more
