I did my research and ended up picking Hair Color Experts in League City. They didn't just set me an appointment, they wanted to meet me, learn what I wanted, see my hair's condition. I'm gray, almost white in the front, and it's thinning in front too. Andrea talked with me about what I wanted, how I wanted it cut, and what kind of upkeep I'm thinking of. I'm a wash & go type of gal, I need fast. And having a disability, I can't spend lots of time fussing with the hair, it exhausts me. We decided on a cut and color. I explained I was looking to do this for my cruise and they suggested I wait until right before we sailed so it looked the best, seems that the bright colors I was picking don't stay in as long as other colors. So we made the appointment for the Friday before the sail. Andrea is amazing. It was like meeting a girlfriend, we chatted while she worked. The cut was first and it is exactly how I was thinking it would look. Then we started the color. The top color was perfect, the undercolor came out looking a bit too light. So she suggested redoing it with a darker color. Hey, I'll go with that, let's try it. And it worked, with the white/gray not taking the lighter color, the darker one worked wonderfully, it came out to the color I thought the lighter one would be. I'm THRILLED! I am all about giving something or someone a fair try . I don't like to judge by other negative comments or reviews. But my point is that I went in to get my hair blowdried and walked out feeling like a lion it was obvious that the girl that did my hair has 0 experience with my type of hair which is a soft curl . I was very unhappy on top of that I got charge an extra $20dollars just for her to use the flat iron ... I have never heard of anything like that. I would not recommend this place . And I would like to add that the staff although I was not pleased with the service they were very nice and welcoming . But I left unhappy ! read more

I would highly recommend this salon. I have had the same hairdresser for over 25 years moved out of state And was doing my own hair because of fear allowing just anyone to touch my hair. It takes a lot to impress me and I knew I had to take a chance because I was over processing my hair and I did. I would not go anywhere else. Experts indeed they are. When I first called the owner Mona answered I asked her who she would recommend in her shop that has experience with color. She responded all her hair dressers have to go through a special course to be hired regardless of how many years experience they already have. The confidence in her voice with her statement is why I confirmed an appointment. I have no regrets and I am extremely happy and won't ever go anywhere else they earned and have my loyalty. She came up with Hair Color Experts. The name fits! The first appointment was a consultation with Mona. She keeps a written record of my cuts and color. This past year, I decided to let my color grow out--Mona matched my natural color perfectly. She also gives a great haircut. Their pricing is fair, and they carry great products. The staff at this salon is extremely friendly and are always on time. The salon is clean, and I appreciate the fact that they wear masks and expect all customers to do the same. I've been in League City, TX less than a year and have been searching for an experienced stylist that really understands how to cut and color fine hair. I've finally found Mona, she is the greatest! . She is a Board Certified Colorist and really goes above and beyond to please the client. She gave me a free color consultation prior to my hair color appointment and a price quote. She really listened to what I wanted and I couldn't be more pleased. Her prices are great too! If you are not satisfied go directly to the top to the ABCH. That is exactly what I did by calling the American Board of Certified Hair Colorist and making a formal complaint. They took the issues I had very seriously as their reputation is on the line. Certified she maybe but qualified and professional she definitely is not. NOTE: The prices have increased and the hours reduced. REPLY TO OWNER(s) As a former client I am allowed to write a review at any time rather it is good or bad. I started using "Yelp" this year in which I did copy and paste my reviews from Google to Yelp. Now both sites have reviews. If my reviews were not up to Google and Yelp "LEGAL" standards they would not be posted. What is interesting as a former client of 3 years and who came in every 4 to 5 weeks to get my hair done is the blame is being put on me. A professional should always take the responsibility for anything that happens within the salon or to the client. Yes, I had an allergic reaction. A professional would have done a "patch test" first to ensure I was not allergic. Yes, I was upset when I called the salon but I never yelled at any employees. I asked that the stylist call me back ASAP. Instead I received a call from her partner (her husband). I spoke with him regarding the situation in a professional manner and he stated that he knew nothing about the hair process but would pass the message along to the stylist. However, it took 3 days for her to call me back. The stylist blamed me a loyal long time client over a new employee. They should have shown me the same loyalty but they did not. Shame on you!!! Been going to HCE for over a year now. Love the hometown feel. Angela, Mona and Perry are fun to visit every month. Angela does my hair and I enjoy my visits. She listens to what i want and when asked gives suggestions. They are not pushy with upselling or product sales and I like that. I like that they have extended hours into the evenings on Thursdays. This is beneficial for people who work full time jobs during the week and have busy weekends! For me its worth the drive to West League City and dealing with the traffic. read more

To illustrate that even more, I live in the Heights and drive all the way to League City every couple of months to get my hair done.
