The stylist, Kristen Eiden, convinced my daughter that she needed to have her hair colored (instead of highlighted) and proceeded to spend 4.5 hours to accomplish this. My daughter came in with a picture of how she wanted her hair to look (see attached pictures). Instead of blonde highlights, she came away looking like a brunette with some gray mixed in. Kristen convinced my daughter that her hair looked good and had her believing it until she got to look at it outside of the salons lighting. After seeing her hair, she began to cry because she strongly felt that she would be made fun of at school. My wife reached out to the salon that evening stating that we had significant concerns with the styling. The receptionist said she would reach out to Kristen and have her contact us. We didn't hear anything back, so my wife tried reaching out to Kristen via Facebook Messenger and received no response at all. My wife called the salon in the morning and asked to speak with a manager. She was told that the manager/owner wouldn't be contacting her back until the end of the week! My daughter literally refused to go to school, so we were left with no other option but to go to another salon to have her hair fixed. We finally received a call back from Kristen, 24 hours after the incident occurred, and she and the owner of A Day Away Salon refused to issue any kind of refund and took zero responsibility for the issue that had occurred. If you want absolutely terrible customer service and a botched hair job, this is the salon for you!

This was my first time here and was just told to check in and pick what you want from the screen. After getting my nails done I see the specials on the monitor. I'm sitting here writing this review as the same employee is talking with a tech with a customer sitting in the chair about a customer. They want you to pay cash and even have a convenient atm for you. They refuse to let you use your debit card or credit card to include a tip and tell you they only take cash tips, rudely I might add. The atm will only give you up to $200, and the employee couldn't figure out to use the cash for the tip and the debit card for the rest of this ridiculous bill. They charge $10 to shape your nails. My manicure didn't include soaking my hands in solution, just dry cutting my cuticles ...dry cutting my nails, I didn't want any polish and they for $40 don't even buff your nails for a shine. My niece has two cuts in her toes from her pedicure, she's a diabetic and we had the tell the tech 3 times not to scrub the bottom of her feet. Her nails were also rough. I was nicked twice but no blood on my toes. My toenails weren't cut, just filed. My nails have rough snagging edges and when I will get off of this review, I will never go there again and fix my nails. $370 for the two of us later no thank you. The employee had brought liquid foundation back and I asked why we weren't getting the airbrush makeup like we had booked. The excuse we were given was that the other party was using the makeup room. Come to find out, there was more than 1 airbrush machine that could have been easily brought back to the other room with us. This fact just makes me more irritated at the service we received. The other bridal party had taken over the salon. They had their Bluetooth speaker blaring and their belongings all over, so we couldn't even be seated in the lobby area while we waited. The most frustrating part was that the employees were also annoyed by thjs rude group but said nothing. THE MANAGER WAS EVEN THERE AND DID NOTHING. I understand they may not have wanted to upset them by telling them they couldn't have their music blaring through the salon. But in not asking other clients NOT to be rude, you pissed off other clients. We were treated like unimportant 2nd class citizens. I will do everything in my power to warn as many people as possible about their horrendous business practices.
