Style and absolutely no substance... I should have known from the aggressively curated hipster…read moreaesthetic that this place cared more about looking like a cool barbershop than actually being one. Easily one of the worst barber experiences I've had. While I was in the chair, the barbers were loudly talking amongst themselves, casually using the word "retard" and discussing how the world is supposedly run by pedophiles. Then I mentioned that the last shop I went to was in a wonderful Salvadoran neighborhood in DC where the barbers didn't speak much English. Another barber chimed in, "Great, the nation's capital and they don't speak English." Casual racism apparently comes with the haircut. Unfortunately, the haircut itself was just as bad. I specifically asked for a burst fade. The entire cut lasted maybe 20 minutes, he left a ridiculous amount of bulk in the back, and there was essentially no blending. When I asked whether he was planning to blend the back, he rolled his eyes and exchanged a look with another barber, which I could clearly see in the mirror. At that point, I abruptly ended the haircut. The barber told me he'd only been cutting hair for two years, and it showed. Between the terrible haircut, the attitude, and the offensive conversations happening openly around clients, this place feels like it hires for the aesthetic rather than professionalism or skill. Whack shop. One star.
