Basically only available by appointment now. Drove 20 minutes out of my way for a haircut only to get told to come back another day as all the hairdressers were busy and booked, yet gossiped and laughed in the back. No one except for the hairdressers and myself was in the store and they told me they were "too busy to take anyone." Needless to say I felt offended as they would turn away a paying customer in an empty store... I'd avoid this place, all they did was anger and frustrate me. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Came to this location about a month ago for my son's haircut. We usually go to the one on Clearlake road but they were extremely busy that day and this location happened to have an opening- we waited about 10 minutes here with no appointment. The girl who cut my son's hair seemed very miserable and like she'd love to be anywhere else, but she did a great job on my son's hair. So, yesterday, I called this location and made an appointment for my son to have his hair cut by this same girl, today. We walked in at our scheduled time and she was behind the counter looking at the computer. There was one other person waiting and, I think, 2 people getting their hair done. She never even looked up when we came in and after a minute or so, went back to her chair to speak to her client. By now, I'm feeling a little out of place - you could cut the tension with a knife. She came back to the computer and finally looked at me - miserable looking as ever. She asked me what I needed - a rude customer service question IMO - and I said we had an appointment. She then went on to tell me how it would be at least an hour because they had 2 people working and then rattled off all the cuts and styles they had to do before they could get to my son - all with this attitude that we were ruining her day, just by being in her presence. When I didn't know how to respond, she added how I shouldn't expect prompt service since everyone is going back to school and getting haircuts. So, I told her to cancel my appointment and went on to call a competitor in Merritt Island who had no wait at all, though when we got there, had 4 customers already there and 3 hair stylists - we got right in. My haircut ended up being nice but the hairdresser was extremely judgmental. It had been a while since I had gotten a haircut so my hair looked rough. When the hairdresser started looking at it she immediately started laughing and making condescending comments. The workers there also failed to tell me when I scheduled the appointment and when I showed up for it that their card machine was tap only. I also watched this happen to multiple people before me. When I went to pay one of the workers got visibly annoyed that I didn't have a tap card or cash and that she had to manually input my information. I don't think I would've been that bothered that they failed the mention it if they had been patient at the end, but instead they were quite rude. I tried my best to be patient and understand where they may have been coming from but I left the salon feeling extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable. My haircut was nice but I never want to return to the Port St. John FL location ever again. read more

I walked into the Hair Cuttery by the Publix in Port St. John, FL to cut my long hair. The lady (young blond, a bit overweight) cut my hair. She then asked me if I saw any uneven lengths (I've never been asked this before at any hair place-ever). She said she found an uneven part to my hair and cut it to make it even with the rest of my hair. The next day, I was putting my hair in a pony-tail when I noticed that my hair was uneven. I grabbed my roommate and she told me that my hair had multiple lengths. My hair was butchered. I mean, it doesn't get any easier than cutting off several inches, straight across! I am now in the process of letting my hair grow out and whenever I put my hair in a pony-tail, it is clear that I have at least 2 hair lengths. I will *NEVER* go there again. read more
