To those of you who rave about Maria, she may be a good stylist but after my experience yesterday I cannot and will not ever recommend her. I have been a customer of hers for several years, always tipping her 20%+ in cash as well as a generous cash Christmas gift every year - which she has never thanked me for or even acknowledged. I had a 10am appointment yesterday, which I made weeks in advance. When I arrived on time for my appointment, she was with a customer and told me she was running late and it would be another half hour, so to "go shopping in the stores near the Hair Cuttery and come back in half an hour". (Really?!) Because I am a kind and understanding person, I gave Maria the benefit of the doubt and returned in 40 minutes. She was still with the other customer, and told me it would be 5 more minutes, which turned out to be another half hour. So my 10am appointment turned into an 11am appointment, which made me have to cancel and rearrange all of my other plans and appointments for the rest of the afternoon. Her excuse was that it was "just one of those days", and when I asked her why she didn't call me prior to my appointment to let me know so I could plan accordingly, her response was "I didn't think about it". Again, REALLY?!?! I did leave her a tip, although she did not deserve it. If I was the owner of that Hair Cuttery, I would terminate Maria immediately. The way I was treated is totally unacceptable and certainly does not reflect well on Hair Cuttery. read more

I went in person to see if availablity with Natalie that I wanted to get a haircut with. She was not available for another 2 hours so I made the appointment for 6:45 PM and I don't live local to the area I live about 20 minutes one way so I stayed in the plaza doing other things to make up for the time, trying to get insurance quotes from two different places. Then I went to the nail salon that's literally right next-door at Chase nails and it took them over an hour and a half to get a full set of nails. I ran into hair Cuttery literally next-door, the second I was able to get out of the Chase nails at 6:53 and I'm told oh your too late that she hast to take the next person after I waited hours in the plaza doing things to make up the time so I didn't leave the appointment hanging. Natalie tells me that she gives no grace period. I think that was pretty rude and disappointing the way the Natalie works, I am sure there are times she is running behind and the customer just has to sit and wait. My phone number was used to make the appointment and not even a courtesy call was made to ask me where I was or what was taking so long for my few minutes delayed arrival. I went in to get my hair trimmed just to get the dead ends off of healthy hair. I left with about 6 inches missing and the ends were uneven and choppy. I had to go to a different hair cuttery for them to fix it and that meant even more hair had to be cut off. It took me YEARS to grow my hair out and they just completely disregarded what I asked for. I had my glasses off, trusting that would be done. Well, in a way it was, until is wasn't. I have been growing my facial hair since we had the lock down. I keep it well maintained and was extremely happy with it. I put my glasses on and she had gave me have in sideburns. She asked if I wanted to take the rest of my facial hair off. I was beside myself. None if this made sense. I was specific Why would she do that? I asked her why? No real good explanation. I had to go home and fix what I could of my facial hair. I have been a long time customer of hair cuttery. Usually for a haircut trim but I had the idea to try them for a lowlight hair job to do purple on my dark brown hair. I made an appointment and went in after work. I was seen by Romeo who I told my vision to- he then proceded to test a strand for the purple color. I waited 45mins with the strand of aluminum on me only to find out the color did not take. Now it is 6pm and I get the thought of well if you cant do purple can you do red - i just wanted something to pop in my hair. He said okay and began the low light aluminum strands on my whole head- 45 later he rinses it and dries it to reveal little to no red is seen in my hair. Now it is 8pm when I leave 2 hrs I have been there and my hair is no pop of color. I tell Romeo I dont see much in my hair but I pay and I tip to not look like a bad person. I ask my friends if they notice my color they say no. So I call the next day and speak to Romeo and tell him my dissatisfaction he says friday to come by because his manager will be there - Gladys. I call friday after work to see what can be done because I do not want to waste my time if it cant be done by someone. I speak to Gladys who says to come by to see the hair but I wanted to know if it cant be fixed then I would like a refund. It seems the district manager was there at the time- Liz and I spoke to her she seemed apologetic and said to come by for a refund and a complementary hair dye to get what I had wanted. She told me the office would call back when they looked at schedule to see who could do it. 1 hr passed so I called back. Gladys spoke to me to say when can you come in? I said if someone can do it I will go. She says yes shay can do it and made an appt for me at 515 I arrive 515 to be told to wait- I waited 30 mins and then asked Gladys for my refund because my apt was not going to be taken for another 1hr it seemed. Gladys gave me the refund like she was doing me a favor . She didnt apologize she didnt want to hear me voice my experience even when i told her i wanted to talk to her. She was "busy" with customers.She had me so upset but luckily Shay stepped in and apologized and she said she will try to make it right with an appt for the hair color. I am disgusted by Gladys treatment and disregard for a customer who HAD been there last week and spent 2 hours of her time and money only to be dis satisfied. I hope someone higher up then her contacts me because after my hair fix up apt I do not plan on returning to THiS hair cuttery under such a rude manager. read more

My hair stylist Louise is outstanding in every way. When I first met her I showed her a picture of a recent haircut. She asked me why I didn't go back and I said I can't afford $50 haircut. Her reply was I will give you a $50 haircut for much less and she did. Recently she suggested color and I agreed to a purple stripe knowing it would be temporary. I loved it. Everyone who saw me complemented me. It washed out very quickly. We discovered the wrong shampoo had been used and the shop redid the color at no cost to me. The second streak did not take well. My hair is white so Louise did not bleach the area but later she realized it was necessary for success I always get an excellent haircut and will try color again and hopefully we will succeed. I highly recommend you try it bearing in mind it is temporary. Do ask for Louise as this color process is her specialty. read more

I just finished getting my hair cut with Britani and it turned out wonderfully! It was actually pretty busy in here, and Britani could have easily rushed me through my haircut, but she was so diligent and obviously cared a lot that my hair was "perfect." She did multiple checks on my hair throughout and also explained to me exactly what she was doing so I would be a very informed customer. I have very thick, coarse hair which is extremely hard to cut and style. Britani did a great job of using appropriate products, while also considering that I have a very sensitive scalp. She was very sweet, easy to talk with (which helps the time go by quicker), and overall did a nice job with my hair. She did exactly what I asked ( i told her to cut about 2-3 inches off) and then recommended a new shampoo based on my needs (dandruff, tend to get build up). I came in with a bob and told her I didn't want a bob any more, I was tired of having to blow dry it under, I wanted a v cut and she said you mean a u cut and I was like okay, I don't really know the term. She gave me a bob again and blow dried it just like a bob when I told her, I didn't want to do that anymore. I will never go back there. My first experience was great, happy with the haircut, however the next time I went in for color and was not happy at all. I left with wet hair so I could not tell the color, when my hair dried it was much darker than I had requested. I went back the following day and was told I got what I asked for and if I wanted it lighter they would try to put in a rinse. The manager was extremely nasty and even tho I was calm and polite she accused me of an attitude.
