I have been a loyal Hair Cuttery customer for over 15 years, and this was by far the worst salon experience I have ever had. I scheduled an appointment for a base color, highlights, and a haircut. I specifically blocked off my afternoon because I knew it would be a longer appointment. After completing only my base color, my stylist, Maite, told me I didn't need highlights and suggested I come back in a month instead. This made no sense because the entire purpose of my appointment was to lighten my hair with highlights after the base color. She then declined to perform my haircut as well, leaving me with only one of the three services I had scheduled. During my appointment, she commented that she wished people wouldn't book long appointments on weekends because they made her less money. That left me with the impression that my appointment had become an inconvenience. To make matters worse, I was charged an additional $36 for a blowout that should have been included with my color package, and my hair was still damp when I left. Although I tipped her, I did so because I always tip service providers, not because I was satisfied with the experience. When I contacted the salon afterward, I was disappointed that management relied solely on the stylist's version of events. I was told that I had decided against my highlights and haircut myself, which is simply not what happened. If I had not wanted those services, there would have been no reason for the stylist to suggest I schedule another appointment to have them done. This is especially disappointing because I have been a longtime customer. I left having paid for an appointment that was never completed, wasted an entire afternoon, and still needed to find another salon to finish my hair. After 20 minutes watching the hair dresser just chatting with a coworker, I got up and told them to cancel my appointment because I can't wait any longer. They just said OK. I would give less stars if possible. I just brought my 2 daughters in for birthday haircuts. The lady at the front was pretty nice. However the other lady came out and told me (because they just came from the pool) that she wouldn't be able to brush their hair as it was tangled due to the pool water. Would give a zero star to Adell and Marcia. First Marcia refused to do my daughter's color. Adell started with the color. As soon as I asked a question regarding the color, she became very argumentative and lead to a full blown verbal argument in the store infront of my daughter and other clients. 1-6-24 Went in to get a trim, and a tall, very tan, white haired lady cut my hair. My hair was fairly long bangs under my chin. NOW, bangs are shorter than the tip of my nose. I was told the balayage was suppose to be a more blended look then the highlights that I originally intended to get. But I was left with straight horizontal bleach lines in my hair. Also, during our discussion when deciding if I wanted a balayage or highlights, he never told to me that my roots were not going to be bleached, dyed or blended. So now it looks like I have weeks of outgrowth when I had just walked out of my appointment. When I mentioned to him that my roots were not done and color was not blended, I was dismissed and told to trust the process...In addition, the comb he used on me had someone else's hair tangled up inside bristles. read more

I came in here on a whim for a cut and color since I was already in the neighborhood for a trip to Trader Joe's. I usually keep my hair in something like a bob and just need a color to conceal the grays. I'm always nervous to try new hair salons, but I ended up having a great experience here. I have had so many bad and uneven haircuts in South FL at inexpensive to moderately pricey salons. Nicole took care of me, she was pleasant and efficient. Deborah cut and dried my hair today and did such a good job. I have super fine hair so I needed a cut that gives maximum volume and shape. She knew what to do and her and the other stylist next to her gave me some good tips for vitamins and made me feel better about myself. I highly recommend. This is the most disgusting salon. Please do not go. Hair everywhere. Plastic in chairs is disgusting - moldy. The older man that checked me in smelled so bad. I had a noon appointment with Deb. Mitchell was very nice and thanked me for making the appointment. Why make an appointment when it's not honored? I was on time. She was doing a full head of highlights when I walked in. When I was waiting (40 minutes mind you), and she was not nearly done, I asked Audrey why she took someone at my time and she rudely told me "it was probably last minute" and I told her that wasn't right, I had an appointment. I know that highlights are a big money ticket but if you want to keep clients, honor your appointments first. Tell the one with highlights to wait 20 minutes while you do your appointment first. Deb, you are not a doctor and not worth waiting an hour for. When you leave a salon before they even touch your hair that definitely saying something. My girlfriend had brought her daughter for a trim and told me they had done a good job. I figured to just trim my daughters ends it shouldn't be too bad. I made an appointment for 12:00 over the phone. When I arrived for my appointment we were not greeted and just stood around waiting for someone, anyone, to say something. A gentlemen finally came over, looked up our appointment and told us that the hair stylist was finishing up a client. I figured okay, maybe a 15 minute wait. It turned into almost an HOUR!!!! Sitting there, no acknowledgement, no apologies. What was the purpose of the appointment? If I could give zero stars I would! I've never written a review before and downloaded Yelp just for this. I walked into Hair Cuttery just for a bang trim. Simple. I was walked back by a stylist named Rob M. I asked for my bangs to be trimmed at an angle that would blend into the rest of my hair starting at the end of my nose going down. He started cutting, brushed my bangs back and forth, cut some more. Looked at my bangs like he didn't know what he was doing. When he was about to cut some more, I stopped him and asked to be given another stylist because I told him "I don't know what you're doing." I continued and said "why is there a shorter piece in the middle of my bangs?" He asked his neighbor stylist if she could finished the trim because he said "she doesn't like the way I'm cutting her bangs" like of course not! My bangs were being butchered! My bangs prior were below my chin and needed a simple angled trim. If this person can't even cut bangs, he should not be working as a hair stylist! My son and I have been going to this location for 5yrs. Today we walked in to get haircuts at 12pm and nobody acknowledged our presence. There 4-5 staff cutting hair and answering phone and talking with each other. Finally after 10-min, I ask the lady who was closest to the front if there's a list and how to register (machines are down for covid...). At that point she tells me that they are only accepting appointments but there was an opening at 3:45pm. This would have been helpful to know when we walked in to not waste time. Made an appointment online earlier in the week with Marcia and I was looking for it as my hair really needed a cut. I'm at work Thursday and receive a from a Mario Silva. First annoyance is someone calling me of their personal number. He left a voicemail saying I need to call back. I called back TWICE when I got off work and no respond. As it gets later and later still no call so I called the store and wanted to confirm my appointment and they had absolutely no idea what was going on. Eventually the lady on the phone mentioned she asked her manager and that Marcia wouldn't be coming in at all. I asked if someone else could cut my hair at that time and she said no. If I didn't call the store I would have showed up to my appointment as planned and been sent away since Marcia wouldn't of been there and as stated no one else would've been available to cut my hair. When I got there the price was quoted at 98.00, the stylist , Nika claiming 45 is the start price (the initial web page says starts at" but when you click to choose a specific stylist, the different prices for individual stylists seems a fixed rate--and if you choose "any stylist" that rate is 45.00 for 65 minutes, no mention of "starting at.") Since you're probably getting an updo for an event, you can't book somewhere else for the special day to get your money's worth. Moreover, Nika overbooked (kept laughing about how she gets in trouble for overbooking but says she has a economic goal, apparently one that supersedes appointments. I had to wait 50 minutes. Had I not booked my hair appointment super early for the event, I coulda been late for the event or had to decline, as that's almost an hour. She worked on my hair about for about 20 minutes and I wasn't not happy with the results. She pulled it back to back to tightly and basicity braided three braids, then swirled them into a twist. Per websites instructions, I went in with freshly clean and dry hair, so one would assume the 65 minutes is spent on the style, especially since the website quotes the classic, less expensive updo, as taking less time (26.00 for 45 minutes). If you want to spend a lot of money (too much) and get a lousy hair style, and get a stylist who is obviously in a rush to get to the next client, go here. For that price, I would recommend a real hair salon. This is a chain, like Super Cuts. read more

I came back in three minutes later and they said they'd be right with me. Jut a second later someone came in with an appointment 15 minutes after me and they took them first so I left.
