After my last visit didn't go as expected, Heather personally reached out to apologize and offered a complimentary full highlight for my next appointment, which I really appreciated. I scheduled the service for May 15. A few days before, I received a call from Salon Mixx informing me that Heather had left the salon, but they assured me I'd be take care of by Sommer (the owner). Sommer was incredibly kind and professional. She apologized for everything and made me feel very welcome. She did a fantastic job with my hair and honored the complimentary full highlight which meant a lot. Even though the service was free, I made sure to leave a generous tip to show my appreciation. Been coming to this salon for years and I'm never let down. Came in to get a new bang look, I had full frontal bangs last year and had let them grow out and wanted to try 'bottleneck bangs'. I showed Jessica my inspiration pics (attached) and she brought the vision to life. She knows her way around bangs for sure and I've also gotten cut by Chloe there too and both are great. Not sure about bathrooms here but plenty of free parking right outside. It's right next door to a bakery which is awesome! Haircut and a treat! I was skeptical about how nice it would look as the little shops next to it didn't look that nice or well kept. There was an empty carona bottle by my car when I had first parked it, I just changed where I parked. So no worries. But inside was rely quite cool! And very clean! Everyone was nice and it actually looked like they were a little steel magnolias family they beer laughing and talking with each other. It was like I was in someone's home. It was lovely. My stylist was Amanda. Now I just came in for a trim, she is excellent! She had a lot of wonderful information for me as I was wondering how to grow out my hair. My trim was actually quite quick and she was really sweet about making sure I knew how much she was taking off. Sometimes you go in for a trim and they hack off sooo much without any warning. Which is fine if that is all dead ends but she was just nice and made sure I was okay with everything. The only downside is my 30 min trim costed 65$. Which I think is steep; but I needed a cut and I needed it before I fly out (flight attendant so got called out early for this months rotation!) Mind you I mention steel magnolias feeling of the stylists butttt this place is very different style than that. They have wonderful local art on the wall and it's all a bit funky and very interesting!. I loved it I was mesmerized by all the different things everywhere! read more

My stylist just moved to Tampa, so I needed to find a new hairstylist. I booked an appointment with Ginger, who did an excellent job cutting my hair. I really love the interior decor and vibe of the place. Everyone seemed really friendly and made you feel comfortable. Today was my first time coming into this salon as a customer, having already been there previously for my son to get haircuts, and always thinking the salon looked pretty good, I had no issue booking a consultation for myself, along with a following appointment for a new look. Betty was my consultant and hairdresser. Her personality and skill are both exceptional! I have been going to Salon Mixx for a few years now and I completely love my stylist. Amanda is very patient, and extremely communicative throughout every step along the way of your hair journey. She keeps it realistic to what can be done to your hair without creating any damage. She is also very informative about the post hair care treatment when having non-traditional colors like mine. I really enjoy that she listens to my ideas and asks questions along the way to make sure I am comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend Amanda. As for the salon itself, it is always very clean and everyone is very friendly. It's always very easy to book an appointment as long as you are not rushing for one last minute. I discovered Ginger just before COVID and have been loyal since then. Her eye for vivids is *incredible*. She's always up to my ever-changing moods and I've never had a bad experience. If you are familiar with vivids you know they can fade quickly but that's not been my experience with Ginger. She uses high quality brands that have lasting power. As for the salon itself, it's so eclectic! All of the stylists are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. You won't regret your experience. read more

Wow...what a turnaround!! Somer the owner kindly reached out to me because she felt bad I had a less-than-stellar experience. I just went back in today for a new haircut personally done by Somer. My experience and haircut today could not have gone better. Somer really took the time to listen to what I wanted. My hair feels fresh and has a whole new look now. She also really educated me with what an inch or two looks like on a comb. There are actual markings on the comb!! Who knew? You would think with all the haircuts I've had over the years someone would have shown me this. Nope. Only Somer. She said a lot of hairstylists dont even know this. The whole salon is very cool and eclectic. I felt so much more comfortable this time. It really matters who cuts your hair. Just like in a restaurant, a bad server can ruin a great meal for me. I'm writing this because I feel that I have to share to spare some of you my heart ache. Had my hair dyed - hours in the chair and 400$ later the blonde looked okay so I left. Next day I washed it and it washed out completely orange. I came back in and my stylist treated the hair with a toner, she was shocked it was so orange. It came back a bit, but still tinges of orange in it when I left. When I washed it few days later it was worse than the first time's orange color. So upset and won't go back to get it fixed again- now I'm stuck with this and searching for a better salon. It's a shame to spend that twice on hair. Please be careful. Only gave two stars because the stylist was very nice. read more
